Good Points: Lovely friendly people, a good choice of dresses.
Bad Points: Can't think of any
General comments: Although I have not got my dress from here I would recommend them, they are so friendly, and they do have a good selection of dresses too. Really nice place, they make you feel relaxed, very refreshing.

What a lovely experience at The Wedding Shop, Colchester! They altered my dress slightly, as I was panicking I couldn't breathe properly in it!! They gave me advice on how to have my hair! Best of all, they didn't push me into going for a particular dress..I felt they put my needs first - rather than the commission they may get on a dress!
I will be recommending this shop to all my engaged friends!!
I'm quite sad I won't get to see the ladies anymore! Maybe I should see if they want a satu ...

The whole experience at The Wedding Shop was excellent and made the journey from south London totally worthwhile. The shop is uncrowded and the dresses all in good condition (unlike many other places I have been to). Having your own private area to try on the dresses is a huge plus as is the great advice and help from all the staff. I would highly recommend to anyone.

Being an "older" bride it was refreshing to still be made to feel special by the staff at The Wedding Shop. The manager offered her opinion on what may suit - after numerous outfits chosen by myself I ended up with her first suggestion !
As a result I have wonderful dresses for both myself and my bridesmaid.

I have just come back from an amazing experience at the Wedding Shop in Colchester. I found my perfect dress here and ordered it a few months ago. The staff could not be more helpful. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble! The shop does not normally open on Sundays but they decided to open specially today in order to help out us brides who work full time and live a fair distance away and therefore struggle to find the time to get there. I found everything about my experience with The Wedding Shop absolutely wonderful. In terms of my dress, I wanted alterations that other dress shops said couldn't be done. Based on many years of experience, the Wedding Shop assured me it could be done. And they were right - the dress fitted my body perfectly and the alterations were spot on.
But I think its the service that is the best thing about the Wedding Shop. Every person in the shop was friendly, helpful and attentive. I was never rushed ...

I would still recommend a visit but I think it is a case of buyer beware. The dress was lovely it is just a niggle that maybe they thought they were getting rid of stock that otherwise they could not have.......

We bought 2 gorgeous bridesmaid dresses in The Wedding Shop from their fantastic selection. Having looked in lots of other shops previously and being uninspired, I discovered The wedding shop website and the stunning range of WTOO dresses. The quality of these dresses is excellent, and as they are not widely stocked in the UK so a real find.
The service in this shop was great, and advice and support regarding styles and sizing a real help. I have recommended this shop unreservedly to my friends ...

The service was absolutely brilliant. I had been recommended by a friend and although it was quite a drive from where we lived it was well worth it. On the first trip we thought we had decided on colours but when we returned with the bridesmaids for a fitting, the bride had changed her mind re the colour. All the staff at the wedding shop in Colchester treat you as if yours is the only wedding they are dealing with. They are endlessly patient and helpful and give you all the time in the world. Finding and buying a beautiful Jenny Packham dress from them for my daughter's wedding was absolutely stress free which is such a bonus when it is probably the most important dress you ever buy. The choice of different designers is wide and good. I highly recommend them.

Friendly helpful staff who did not hurry or hassle, but seemed genuinely interested in helping me find the dress I wanted. I must have been in there for 2 hours trying on dresses, which was great at helping me narrow my search. The dressing rooms at The Wedding Shop in Colchester have excellent natural lighting too, allowing you to really see yourself.

I found the staff at the wedding shop in Colchester to be extremely helpful, with excellent knowledge on style and dress fitting, to make sure I had the most perfect dress for my wedding day.
The shop offers a fantastic collection of beautiful wedding dresses, and they have extremely helpful and friendly staff, so there's no need to look anywhere else!

I'd spent ages looking around for my prefect dress. I found it in London somewhere, can't remember where I visted so many places.
In the end I found my perfect match, other than my great husband, a Toi Sposa.
I search around to see where I could get the dress at a decent price. Which it turned out to in Colcester at the WeddingShop. I know they say they don't book appointments on Saturdays, but when I phoned they were understanding that I was coming from London and made me feel welcome.

Like most brides, I had visited lots of different shops to make sure I was getting the right dress. After visiting The Wedding Shop in Colchester I realized I needn't look any further. Apart from getting great service, I also got my bridesmaids dresses, my mum got her outfit from Jitters (their occasion wear shop right next door), and I also got my tiara and cake there too.
Thoroughly recommended!

I felt that whilst accidents do of course happen it was handled very badly. The Wedding Shop firstly suggested I had lost weight which I hadn't, they then left me standing like a fool in the dress for 15 minutes as they were busy, no-one came to see me to explain or apologise. When they did come to find me I was so upset I could hardly say a word, they offered to alter the dress but I refused as the sample I had tried on had been a near perfect fit, that was what was so frustrating that they onl ...
