Good Points: Very clean complex and apartments, nice swimming pools and fantastic cliff top views.
Bad Points: Thought the entertainment was cheesy and not enough sun beds by the pool in my opinion.
General comments: The site and apartments are very clean and well maintained and the staff very friendly.
I thoroughly recommend the Alfagar to anyone with children. There is a kids club on site run by Thomas Cook and there are three swimming pools to help keep them amused. (as well as the big kids like me of course) The supermarket on-site is overpriced in my opinion and I thought the entertainment at night was a little tacky to say the least. (But it was amusing as well from time to time) There was some building work going on behind our apartment but to be honest it didn't cause any excess noise or disruption. Overall we had an excellent time there and would definitely go back again.

We have stayed at the Alfagar Apartment Complex several times within the past 2/3 years. The pool area's were first class, staff very friendly and food good.
Bathroom in our apt. had no ventilation. What they had was a small drain top stuck to the side of the bath!
Not very child friendly i.e. pathway to beach had a sheer drop of 70/80 ft. No safety rails of any sort. People with small children must have had a nightmare every time they used this pathway or seen their children near it. Not to ...

Could do with having a small welcome pack with tea, coffee, milk and sugar for people who arrive after shop has closed and do not want to go to the bar. Cleaners were very efficient and thorough.
Enjoyed the entertainment.

It was OK, and I will be going back just because of the location of it, but other than that nothing really appealed to me. The rooms were dirty, and the entertainment was the worst thing I have ever heard. I heard the entertainer at the Alfagar Apartment Complex in Albufeira on the Saturday, and he was shouting at a member of the audience for singing along, exclaiming "do you mind not singing along, tonight is for me. Karaoke is tomorrow night".

The Alfagar Apartment Complex in Albufeira has great facilities, including tennis courts and a football pitch. Delightful surroundings, and not far from the Strip, which is a lively night time street filled with bars and restaurants, and of course lots of souvenir shops and people.
Our holiday was blissful, and I would most certainly go back.

After reading all the reports on here, we were worried what Alfagar Apartment Complex would be like, but we had a great time. Entertainment every night. Very much a family place, but with 3 swimming pools, ideal to keep children entertained. Games room also kept the children entertained, along with the nighly entertainment. Food ok, but we usually went into the town to experience local cuisine in the evening. A few cockroaches (which I'm terrified of!), but only after we had a day of rain. ...

Just as the photos show Alfagar Apartment Complex is clean and spacious. Place is kept well maintained, we had a fault with our fan, patio door and deposit box but all were sorted out straight away. Staff are very friendly.
Entertainment was fine but the crowd did not join in that much, some were sat there like cardboard cut outs!
Nice and peaceful at night
Food was fine, but not much of a choice if you are wanting to try local dishes.
Walk to town is a bit much but the taxi was cheap

I Would have had an excellent holiday at Alfagar Apartment Complex, apart from the work going out directly underneath our apartment, staff couldn't even be bothered to apologise, despite 3 complaint letters

Overall I had a good time, but Alfagar Apartment Complex lacked a certain sense of an atmosphere. The place wasn't 'buzzing' at night but then again I am young and I was expecting some fun.

Upon arrival at Alfagar Apartment Complex our room was not ready, a walk around the complex proved the main pool area which convinced us to buy this holiday; was a Construction site with serious renovations taking place and the building of a pool complex building, our room furniture was like sitting on concrete, a faulty cooker knob led to my wife burning her hand, the only pool in use was ice cold (to be expected at Easter) there was a boarded up pool bar not in use next to the pool in use, the ...

WORST HOLIDAY WE HAVE EVER HAD - WHOLE FAMILY HAD TO GO TO HOSPITAL DUE TO SWIMMING POOL'S HYGENE.
- RESTURANT STAFF MOODY AND UNFRIENDLY, STAFF IGNORED CHILDREN TRYING TO BUY ICE-CREAMS OR DRINKS. SUPERMARKET ON SITE VERY VERY EXPENSIVE WITH PHOTO-COPIED NEWSPAPERS.

Our Algarve holiday was based on 'on arrival'. As this can be tricky at the best of times we were delighted to see Alfagar Apartments we were allocated. The apartment was just terrific as was the service of the staff and not to mention the great craic we had in the bar. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Alfagar to anyone.

The Alfagar Apartments complex had a pleasant exterior, set adjacent to cliff edge with plenty of well looked after soft landscaping including pine trees and cobbled paths.
Staff were very friendly and chatty, and were always there to help.
There are 3 pools on site. One is a childrens pool, the other two are large with plenty of sun lounger space. The pool next to the cliff path is especially pleasant.
There was plenty of options on the resturant and bar food menus and the onsite shop ...

Alfagar apartments don't cater for childrens evening entertainment and not really for adults entertainment except for Karaoke at the weekend O.K if your into that sort of thing.
The strip which is where the nearest night life is based is a jazzed up Blackpool.
Once you had been into one shop you've been to all.
The food wasn't very interesting and the same food sold everywhere.
Having said all this I did enjoy my holiday because it was a break and the sun shone all day.
I wouldn' ...

Albufeira is a great resort, perfect for adults or kids. Alfagar Apartments look good and has lots of space. There is a carpark. steps may be to steep for OAPs. Good service. Well kept. maybe to far from city centre but you can hire a car. friendly service and good food and drink. Defently good for a game of tennis. oh, and ice-creams are cheaper in the on site minimart than in the bar, and the marts an extra 2 mins away? stupid but it saves you money
