    Good Points: Thin silver unit.
Excellent sound and picture for price.
    Easily adjusted picture ratio.
    Easily made multi-region.
    Simple remote control.
    No annoying on-unit display.
Excellent customer care team at manufacturer.

Bad Points: Glowing power lights on all time power in use.
Some may dislike the lack of clock/timer display on actual unit.
Unit quite wide making up for thinness.

General comments: I picked up my Samsung DVD-P144 DVD player for just £20 (ex-demo) after haggling in Comet. No remote, but a quick call to Samsung saw one mailed free of charge.

A nice slim player that slides inconspicuously under the TV. Excellent sound and picture quality for the money, and a neat feature allows you to select between 4:3 and other ratios to suit your TV - ideal for those like me who have older TV sets yet enjoy widescreen movies.

Easy to use remote with big buttons, and a quick handset hack on it, which allowed US DVD's to play just as well as UK ones.

Quiet in use, and makes viewing DVD's a pleasure. Some may dislike the lack of a timer on the machine counting off the minutes spent watching. Cinema fans like myself, will probably welcome the lack of distraction though. Recommended.
