Good Points: Good price, good speed for engine size, even when carrying passenger. Smooth ride, good on petrol, great up hills. Reasonable around corners.

Bad Points: No storage space, no petrol indicator, no kick start. And no-body seems to know how to fix these things when they go wrong.

General comments: When I first bought this CPI GTR 150cc bike/scooter I loved it. It was fast, reliable, all the things I wanted. But after about a year and a half (when my warranty ranout), things started to go wrong. It had trouble starting - which is really annoying as there is no kick start. Then the electrics went funny. First it was just the petrol light coming on randomly, I was always paranoid I was about to run out. Then the left indicator light stopped, so I changed the bulb but it was the switch, changed that, and then the main front light stopped working, well actually it works but only when I steer in a certain direction. I also found that once you have needed work and have taken the front panel off, you get rediculously loud vibrations when the bike is on but standing still (i.e. at traffic lights). Its really loud and embarrasing. So, if your doesn't go weird on you after a few years, then count yourself lucky. I am beginning to lose confidence in my once loved posession, to the point where I will probably save up and buy a better quality bike.

I wouldn't reccomend this CPI GTR 150cc bike because it has been nothing but trouble for me. Too many problems and not enough help from the owner's manual. The service cost alone has already been over $450.00 US and it doesn't even have 500 miles on it yet.
Not happy with this product at all.

I currently own a CPI GTR50 - 2005 model. Cool "motorcycle" look with a scooter 49cc engine. It was ordered from the dealer (St. Louis, MO - USA) with an exhaust conversion kit - speeds up to 45 - 50 mph.
After repairs (under warranty) to the fuel line, no problems at all with performance - runs excellent, though speedometer still does not work - but remember, it's only a 49cc.

Second owner, first user of it. Was a display by first owner. Sat with gas in it for a year. Fixed that problem. Found a dealer here in Phoenix. Fairly quick to get parts. Been told that warranty work is weird thru the Texas distributer of the bikes. Since purchase of the first one I have purchased a second for my wife. And my best friend bought one as well.
Very happy with my purchase. Saves me tons of cash every week.

Great cross over bike, fast enough to have fun on city streets, yet not 2 fast to get me in real trouble.
Nice looking bike as far as any problems so far so good but its only gor 1800 miles.
    Great bike for the price.

Basically My CPI fell apart after 1 year. Sensors went out, exhaust fell off, cooling system is crapped out, CVT out. Its cheap, its poor, the only good thing to it is the frame.

The CPI GTR is a good by for those who can't afford a big bike.
It handles better than any ordinary scooter due to the 17" wheels and the sitting position.

The CPI GTR 150cc is a good cross between a scooter and a motorcycle. It operates like a modern automatic scooter, but rides, looks, and handles like a conventional motorcycle. The first time I rode it, I was reminded of riding a horse. You sit rather upright, instead of being bent over a fuel tank as on many sport bikes.
The top speed is around 55 or 60 mph, which is not very impressive for a modern 150cc. With the large diameter tires, the acceleration is also not very impressive. Both are ju ...
