“look out for terrible marantz service”

I bought a similar Marantz unit (AV7005) and after 6 months it blew a video processing board. It has been in for repair for 11 weeks due to the local distributor stocking no parts. Never again will i buy Marantz (read more)

I searched for a good compromise between A/V and stereo performance. Arcam claimed the lead in this aspect, but prices are exaggerated. Therefore I took the plunge and I chose this Marantz receiver. And I have not been disappointed, making use of the bi-amping feature in this device, plus pure direct mode, gives you very satisfactory musical qualities, clear vocals and clear orchestrations, which is not easy to find in an A/V receiver.
