I had read good things about this cream. I tried it and it gave me a red rash on my face and neck, my face became swollen and I had blisters all over my face. I had to go to the hospital and was prescribed some cortisone cream. This was quite distressing as I did not know what this was at the time. I have also read reviews where others have suffered the same reaction. Surely the manufacturers should put something in with the cream to this effect, this should be a requirement. I am sure... This is an awesome cream. I use it in night and day both. Its not greasy and is absorbed by the skin very well. Over months I have been looking more fresh and younger(as noticed and complemented by all) and feel better from inside too. I keep a stock of it and I order it from genericpillsshop.com. A month ago my dermatologist prescribed Roaccutine for my acne problem skin. Amongst the side effects are dry lips, dry skin and my skin has changed from oily to dry and sensitive. I was so miserable and stopped socialising because my skin and lips were forever dry. I purchased the Elizabeth Arden 8 hours skin protectant and I AM LOVING IT. Today is the third day I am using it and it is FANTASTIC. I use it on my face and lips and the results are amazing! I am definately going to continue... (read more)

i have read the other reviews in horror, I have used this creamfor a few years and will keep buying as it works for me. It does have a strong smell and I'd not use it during the day but applied at night to my eczema and dry patches round my eyes and on hands and body I wake a new women and I have tried all other creams prescribed by the doctor and this was the only thing that keeps my skin decent in the winter. It is pretty greasey and not really suitable under makeup but honestly I would... (read more)

I used 8 Hour Cream Skin Protectant on my face as I had been in the sun and my face felt dry and itchy . I read that it could be applied as often as required . After two applications my face began to itch so I tried to wash it off . After two hours my face went bright red and started to swell . Large blisters appeared under and over my eyes and all over my chin. After 6 hours large "bubbles " of fluid built up in the corners of my eyes . I could barely open my eyes at all . I contacted my... (read more)

I am sorry to hear you have had such a bad reaction to the cream, but it does not cause a reaction in everyone. I have used this product for years and it is wonderful for my skin. I used it at night and sometimes during the Summer under my eyes if I think they need it. I always use it on my lips to soften them and avoid chapping. Everyone's skin is different. Also with hormonal changes as we grow older, our skin changes, so we can find that one product suits us when we are one age, and then later not at all. This is a fact of life, and it does not mean that everyone should avoid the cream. But, it would be good if manufacturers put on their products a warning saying 'may cause allergic reactions in some users.' I believe this would be responsble and it would overly impact sales in those who want to try it. Finally, did you try the product on your wrist first? I never just go into a store and buy a new product without testing it first on the inside of my wrist. I recommend you in future to go into the store WITHOUT buying, and get a sample first or test it there and then and give it at least 24 hours to see what, if anything happens, to your skin. It might have been easier if the reaction had been on your wrist, than on your face, although of course an absence of a reaction would have been the preferred result. I hope my recommendation helps. I am addicted to this cream. A small tube lasts me months, even with the amount I use it. It really does work on everything - blemishes, dry skin patches, nappy rash, you name it. Fantastic for adding a glow with make up application. I recommend it highly.
I am a beautician and have used many products/ranges in my time and seen many different skin conditions. I feel I'd like to point out that people who have had severe skin reactions, as unfortunate as it is, probably would have had a...

I could not say it better than you already have. I am a South African and with our weather conditions summer and winter badly affects our skin....I am using this product every night after a hot bath mainly on my face and had no problems at all...it leaves my skin soft silky and I've noticed that it sooths out my wrinkles or fine lines what you may call it....exellent product and would recommend it to anyone. Well if you had a bad reaction or experience then you need to see a physician. What also would suggest is you make sure you use a 3-in-1 cleanser to get rid of the daily oils and stuff you know and then apply this 8hour cream....you won't be dissapointed.
regards
from happy me:) Thank you Elizabeth Arden for the amazing product......

I am so disappointed with this cream, I have sensitive skin by my own admission but I could not have predicted the allergic reaction I got from using it. The product suggests good for extremely dry skin/eczema. I am now being treated for severe chemical burn, I have huge blisters all over my hands and I am having to take antibiotics to clear the infection, great when your 27 weeks pregnant, thanks Elizabeth Arden!! Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream Skin Protectant
' intensive body moisturizing treatment. Smooth over body daily '
What does it do?
The claims of this body cream are to leave the skin soft and luxurious for 8 hours long. They say that it absorbs quickly and deeply giving a very intense moisture saturation. Especially good for and reverses the appearance of dry flaky skin.
This cream has won THE BEAUTY INSIDERS AWARDS

I live in Alaska and this product is fabulous for protecting your skin, especially the face from the harsh cold, dry weather we have here in winter. Great also for airline travel - keeps your skin from drying out on long flights.
Great product if you are looking for a skin product to protect your skin so that it keeps it looking moist. I use it instead of makeup with just a little lip gloss and mascara.

I bought it in the hope that it will clear up my eczema after trying just about every product on the market. Unfortunately it made my lips (where I have the eczema problem) worse. it has a very strong smell and after applying it, it also irritates my eyes.
In it's defense, I have to mention that it works wonderfully on my dry elbows.

What a great product. Been using a little over a week and already my blemishes and acne are clearing up. I have pcos so I get mild acne on my cheeks and chin area, they get very sore and red, and by using this product everynight before I go to bed I wake up with one less spot that has disspaeared over night.
I am 31 and get fed up with having bad skin at my age, so if this product is healing my skin, I am happy. I recommend it.
Well recommended product.

Test the product on a patch of skin first before using it. Never use it if you have a skin which is at all sensitive to colours, perfumes, lanolin, etc. The packaging on my tube of Eight Hour Cream showed no sign of details of ingredients to help decision-making. I would firmly say, "buyer beware": what I am still trying to fight off on Day 4 of taking prescribed anti-hystamines is the equivalent of a chemical burn. (read more)

This slightly honeyed feeling cream has stopped my eczema in its tracks. I get very sore eczema on the corners of my mouth and eyebrows, and I now apply a tiny dab of Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream Skin Protectant every night, and I haven't suffered from eczema since. I also used to get sore elbows from working at a desk and leaning on it all day - again this cream has solved that problem too.
I recommend this. It seems pricey at first, but a little really does go a long way.

I have used Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream Skin Protectant on almost everywhere for everything. My favourite use for it is after you have put on your make up, dab a little bit on your cheekbones for a fabulous glow. I have also used it as a night moisturiser to perk up dull skin, and I think personally it works a treat. I suffer with breakouts now and again, but this product has never made me breakout in spots. When I bought this product it was about 10 pounds...a little over priced I think.
I used the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream a while back, after a friend recommended it. It was the biggest mistake of my life. After 1 day I developed an allergic reaction, which gave me a rash on my lips and made them swell up. The rash also affected the bottom half of my face. I returned it 2 days later, and I was given a full refund, after the shop assistant saw what it did to my lips. Although I am more...

I recommend that you try this product out before you buy! (there are usually EA counters in large department stores like John Lewis) As there was so much hype about it I assumed it would suit anybody's skin and went and bought the trio set (skin protectant, hand cream and lip protectant) on eBay for £26.99. The lip balm does nothing more then a tub of Vaseline at 99p can do! The same goes for the handcream. I'm still in my teens and so still suffer from excess oil, blackheads and all that... (read more)

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream is no better than regular Vaseline.
I got a small packaging from my sister, for my dry red skin spots (T-Zone and nose wings) on my face and my dry lips. I have used it several times, applying it before going to bed in the hope it would look better the next day. However, in the morning most of the stuff was on my pillow, so it was not absorbed by my skin at all! The spots looked no better; in fact they looked worse (inflamed red)m and my lips were wrinkled and...

I have been a sufferer of psoriasis for nearly 16 years now, and as you can imagine, I have used every possible cream, lotion and treatment there is. I also suffer from psoriasis and decided to use Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream to see if it made a difference, and yes it did. However it made it worse, it made it very sore and quite painful, I would not recommend this for psoriasis suffers.
However this cream is great for dry skin in general, I use it sometimes after i've shaved which gives instant relief from razor burn, and have started applying it to my lips at night, they are now in the best condition that they have ever been in.

I used it too whilst on Roaccutaine and I swear it was my saving grace as at times my lips would peal off in a solid piece leaving a raw and very painful exposed lip which I protected using this cream. Since coming off the Roaccutaine 4 months ago, I have a different side effect, my nails are now peal off in big strips leaving my cuticles torn and very dry, and again the only thing that helps is the 8 hour cream. I now use it for everything, my night cream, nail cream and lip balm... I love it so much!
