I have been a member of the Boston Sports Club in Waltham for a while. I'm not sure why they have a Customer Care Manager there since she doesn't know how to smile and at least fake it. Everytime I walk by the check in desk those wonderful people make my day. Part of customer satisfaction comes from the front line of that check in. My suggestion is to get someone with a personality for that Customer Care position. Believe me, I'm not the only one that sees it either.

I am going out of my way to express dissatisfaction with the gym which I do rarely, if ever. Going to the boston Sports club is fine. They provide decent experience... until you start dealing with billing. Be VERY CAREFULL with their contracts. The billing stuff cares about nothing except squeezing the last $$$ out of you. Be prepared to be talked down to. And God forbid if you decide to cancel membership: they will charge you additional 30 more days even if you don't use the club. And you can't ...

If you sign up, make sure you are willing to be committed for the time you sign for. They make untrue promises with cancellation procedures and need at least 30 days prior notice with a full months pay prior to canceling. It can be a real hassle if you're not willing to use the facilities for the full commitment. The Boston Sports gym itself is great, but the membership services and flexibility is simply awful. They are unwilling to let a single penny be excused from the time you sign your contra ...

When I first joined Boston Sports Club in Andover, the equipment was new. It now seems outdated and beat up. Then, Boston Sports Club changed the hours of operation of the club. When I tried to cancel my membership based on their changing the hours of operation, they denied my request and charged me a cancellation fee. I am currently fighting the cancellation fee with Boston Sports Club (Member Services), which is a nightmare.

I joined the Watertown Boston Sports Club when it first opened and it was great, but after the first year things started to slide. The cardio equipment is still great, state of the art and lots of variety but forget going right after work (5:30-7pm) or early in the morning before 8 am because you can't get on anything. The group exercise schedule looks terrible, strength training classes are too late at night and there aren't enough classes. Very high turnover (the good instructors leave). As ...

When I signed up I was interested in being able to switch gyms, knowing that my office was going to move and that the Copley location was only going to be my home for a short period of time. I was told, I could switch at any time. When I went to make the switch, I was told it was a $40 fee to make the switch. I looked in the contract but didn't see anything about the fee. I presented the contract to the manager, who highlighted two places where it was noted that a transaction fee would be assess ...

I like to swim and I joined Boston Sports Club at Copley Square to use their pool, but unfortunately, I am not getting my money's worth. The pool is frequently out of service and it happened more than once that I came in, changed into my bathing suit and jumped into the pool, and only then someone came in and told me to get out, because the pool out of order at the moment! Today I was so fed up, I went to ask for a manager. The girl I talked to said she was the manager and what was my problem. I ...

Everything is awful at the Central Square location. The staff is very rude and completely incompitent in my opinion. I recently moved and have been trying to cancel my membership for months now. I have been told I can't cancel over the phone; I understand there is a termination fee. Every time I actually make it into the city now the manager is "unavailable" but if I call back they can schedule a time to come in. And the trainers are awfully pushy from what i have seen. I would never join an ...

I'm in the process of moving offices and have called to inquire about transfering my membership. I don't care to be treated as a customer off the street. I have been a member and am being told I now have to pay to transfer and increase my monthly fees.

Good thing Lattitude is moving in to New England maybe BSC will smarten up and start treating is members better.

First of all I think this gym is great The Staff is excellent and constantly works on improving the facility. If you have a Problem with ESPN, call up coporate that has nothing to do with the indivudual gym....I know this because i called myself. I am friendly with most, if not all of the staff members....They sit around at down time, like you probably do yourself with your job.I also love the spin classes and my free training session i recieved with a trainer, they are all knowlegable in the fi ...

I'm very happy with the Watertown BSC. It has a nice atmosphere and the people - both staff and members, tend to be happy. I visit the Davis Sq. one occasionally and it is nice, but small with tiny locker rooms. The new Medford one (near Wellington) is huge with a larger pool and tons of equipment.

When BSC opened their first club in Copley Square, it was a great place in a great location. Not a lot of people, conveniently located, good hours, great trainers. But as their presence in Boston grew, the quality of the clubs dropped. They are little better than Bally's in their sales tactics. If you work downtown and need a gym nearby, I would recoomend it. But you can definitely get more for your money elsewhere.

I joined because i was interested in using the pool, but it is too small for so many people, so I asked for a refund seven days after joining. That was six months ago! I am still waiting for my money! The staff is rude, the manager is always in 'conference calls' or out of the office.

They used to be good, but the Gov't Center location is usually pretty dirty and the staff just sits around. If it wasn't right across the street....

I would not recommend the Andover Boston Sports Club.I think that the spin bikes are in a horrific condition with pedals breaking off.

In general, I'm sorry I ever joined. They are pushy--and not just the sales staff. The personal trainers are pushy and don't seem to understand that when you don't want to sign up for continuous sessions it's usually because you can't afford it. They just don't want to take no for an answer. Plus, I feel many of their trainers aren't that knowledgable. It seems anyone can get certified. Scary when you are shelling out lots of money!

I was disappointed with the value of this gym from the start. First, when I asked that I not pay the company through direct debit, but rather get a bill, I believe I was told that wasn't an option. Thus, I was charged fees when I forgot to update my info when I got a new debit card and I went on paying a month to month membership after I thought my membership had been up. When I went to cancel, I still had to pay the following month because of their 30 day notice. I know that was in the cont ...
