Really enjoyed our weeks stay at the Hotel Arena. Staff were really exceptional and made the holiday for us. The staff in the dining room particularly were outstanding. It's a very good hotel for getting drinks, never a queue and a lot of it help yourself. We quite enjoyed the evening entertainment although if you just wanted a quiet drink in the evening there wasn;t anywhere to go. Hotel is in an excellent position for walking to the dunes and the town, and rooms were very spacious and clean. (read more)

Just returned from a fabulous stay in this marvelous hotel.Having gone self catering last year it was an eye opener to step into the foyer of this beautiful 4 star hotel.
Everything about this hotel was first class - the delightful staff, the large choice and quality of food(juicy steaks every night if you want!),spotlessly clean room with a bath AND a large walk in shower and the foliage lined reception areas were particularly tranquil places to chill out in.
With the two pools (one for...

Overall Hotel Playa la Arena is a nice hotel, but the main issue here is to make as much money as possible out of you. Good choice of food. Relaxing interior, lots of greenery and water features. The buffet meals are often cold. We paid for a superior room at £12.00 per night extra it is certainly not worth this amount, not much difference to standard rooms. (read more)

we have just stayed there for the second time and will go again. We have 3 children so we booked a junior suite this time at a supplement, well worth it, very spacious, two separate areas for sleeping. The hotel has a good variety of activities for all ages all day and water-slide on site. Great hotel, great for kids, very friendly. Beach towels provided for you, no need to pack your own. The food excellent. (read more)

Second visit this year and the same very high standard. One bonus of booking direct with the hotel is a free transfer by taxi from and to the airport (for stays of 7 nights or more). Although, the pick-up on arrival failed to show my taxi fare was refunded without question.
We took the courtesy bus to their sister hotel, the Vulcano in Playa de las Am ricas one day and couldn't wait to get back. No comparison, even the staff at La Arena agreed with us!!!
By the way, they even offer a free...

There's only one thing to say about the Hotel Playa la Arena i Tenerife, Magnificent!! I just wish I could rate it higher than 10!
Highly recommended, and probably the best holiday hotel I have ever stayed in. Choice of food in the buffet restaurant was unbelievable.
When you go, make sure you ask for a room directly facing the island of La Gomera. Easy to book direct online, and the staff couldn't be more helpful.
As I said, Magnificent.

Arriving at the Hotel Playa la Arena you walk into a vast reception area which has such an air of opulence and lavishness, it takes your breath away and you wonder if you have been dropped off at the right hotel, particularly as it is often part of a package deal. Being a relatively new hotel, the design is contemporary but with an elegance not normally found in modern buildings and you immediately know this hotel, adorned with lush hanging vegetation, is somewhat special. Efficient and... (read more)

I cannot agree more with the review above. We have stayed at the Playa la Arena in 2005 and 2006 (January) & found it to be exceptional. True there is very little in the resort itself but that somehow adds to the charm, and if you are fit and don't mind walking uphill, the walk to Los Gigantes takes about 40mins.
<br>The good news is that Spring Hotels are building another hotel which looks to be even more magnificent than this one, the bad news (for the reviewer above) is that its also in Tenerife.
