In over 45 years o dying my hair, I have found Belle to be the mildest on my scalp and give a beautiful colour. In those years I have tried almost every kind o dye and about 10 years ago switched permanently to Belle. Then I did not have any gray hair and my natural hair was "strawberry" blonde. I used # 81 Ash Blonde to tone down the yellow and it gave a very fine blonde. Now as I am getting older and the gray is coming I have learned to mix the shades and started by adding a little #... I had been using loreal extra light ash blonde 03 and thought that was good on my medium brown roots which have gold tones, bearing in mind I didnt pe lighten them. However, I was still getting a little brassiness on the darker roots at the back. I had been researching belle colour and decided to give it a try. I couldnt get it in the shops though I had to buy online. I am so pleased, it has got rid of that brassiness bringing the roots up to a nicelight natural blonde, lighter than loreal.... (read more)

Me and my mother both have platinum blonde hair so we both use shade 110 bearing in mind myself in particular have used nearly every very light blonde hair dye on the market eg: nice and easy,John Freda, loreal, garner nutrise but garner belle colour is our favourite it's a beautiful colour just like on the box it covers grey and usually I find that most box dyes don't always cover my hair the same colour all over, the roots usually go slightly orange with other dyes but with belle colour... I used belle colour ash blonde 111 as I previously used u nice and easy Colour and it left my roots orange with a block of orange at the top and blonde at the ends using this colou has definitely evened out the colour it is no longer a block at my roots and it has toned down the orange a lot! I have now died my hair three times yet this colour has still left it in good condition it isn't dry or frazzled I will definitely be using this colour again to keep the orange away! Definitely recommend! (read more)

This is one of the worst hair dyeing products I have used. I normally use Clairol Nice n easy extra light blonde shades and fancied a change, so decided to purchase this as it was on offer for just 3 pound. Decided to go for the extra light blonde colour (110) because I thought the colour looked lovely on the box and was so excited to use it. Got home, and covered my roots and head with the hair dye. After about 10 minutes I looked in the mirror to find my hair looked blue. I wasn't worried... (read more)

Hi, I colored my hair like 4 times within a month! Couldn't get the color I wanted which is a rich golden brown. I had been used to lighten up my hair and dye it with the Nutrisse golden blond color which made my hair look coppery (my natural color is dark brown with red undertones) I wanted to go a bit darker from my previous very light coppery brown color so I went to the store and got me a Garnier Nutrisse dye I think it was light brown which turned out to be very dark brown on me! I know... (read more)

Belle color 9.32 Pearl Blonde. My hair is now grey.I use a tinting bowl with brush to apply the mixed colour (which I shake in the bottle and then put in the bowl)to the roots rather than doing the whole head, as the ends of the hair are more porous than the roots and won't take the colour evenly. I've used Belle Color and Nutrisse for ages - went from BC to N and now back to BC.
Easy to use and a really good colour, being a bit warmer than ash blonde. The only problem is that it lifts out... (read more)

I'm naturally blonde and I hadn't died my hair before. I just wanted to go slightly lighter ( I was identical to the colour on the box that was shown. I did a patch test and it was fine. So I went ahead and died it. My hair is slightly more ginger than strawberry blonde now. It's horrible and I wish I'd never died it. It's a bearable colour to put up with, but not what I wanted whatsoever! (read more)

I have previously used Nice n Easy hair colour but since they changed the formula I have been looking for my next perfect hair colour. I bought Garnier Belle colour 9.1 Light Ash Blonde. Its easy to use, not a bad fragrance, and BEST OF ALL.....FANTASTIC HAIR COLOUR !!!
The colour is a perfect, true to life, light ash blonde. Very easy to apply and no bad scalp reactions ( i did do a patch test ). Condition is very good and I would recommend to anyone looking for a permanent hair colour... (read more)

I have use belle colour blonde (8) before with success although it was a little too bright. I tried the blonde 7.1 this time round (my hair is naturally dark blonde). Horror of horrors... it turned my hair ginger. I see from reading other reviews that I am not alone. I don't know why this has happeded but I'll not be using it again. (read more)

Read some of the bad reviews here and a lot of them seem to be from people who know nothing about hair colour and think they can go from black to blonde in one step!
I love Garnier Belle Colour and it leaves my hair in very nice condition.
I've used it many times after having a bad experience with Garnier Nutrisse. I DO know a lot about colour and the Nutrisse made the front of my hair turn grey and this was NOT after using an "ash" shade either..(I know better))
Anyway,I have nothing but... (read more)

I used to dye my hair dark brown nearly every 2 weeks and my hair was in awful condition. So instead of paying loads of money to go to the hairdressers to strip it, I decided to do it myself. I wanted to get rid of this black/brown colour and try getting back to my natural hair colour - dark blonde/light brown.
I bought a really cheap blonde hair dye (well 2 actually because of the length of my hair) it was about £4. I used it on my hair twice in the space of 3 weeks and had horrible hair... (read more)

I now Know why this was reduced in Asda!!!!!
I wanted a Pearl Blonde. Im now in between Strawberry Blone and Orbourne.
The Conditioner smells lovely bur is very Greasy.
The Conditioner is to heavy for fine hair.
If you have fine hair only use 1/4 of the Sachet.
The Colour is far from being Pearl Blonde but is it wasn't disasterous.
I would not use this again.
I will go back to "nice'n easy". (read more)

Hi-Ca ppl who had disasters please explain if they did patch tests on their hair?????????? I would have thought if you did you would have seen these problems (white roots/orange hair).
Sorry, but if you don't state this in your review-it's pointless!!

i used this product and my hair went from browny blonde to bright golden blonde =]! just how i wanted it, it hardly smells when you apply it, all hair dyes smell when using them, but this one hardly did:) so whoever said it does smells after use is wrong! i love the stuff im gonna keep on using it, i would defonatly recommend this product to a friend, it is perfect for anyone that wants a nice soft, warm, summer glowing blonde! All you people who are complaining clearly do not have a clue how hair colourants work and should never attempt to dye your own hair at home! I've used all sorts of these products for years when pre-lightening to blonde or stripping darker colours. Yes your hair will have bright White roots and orange through the lengths as this isn't a miracle cream! If your hair has been previously coloured, do not expect the same results as on your roots where no colour has been. If you research these... (read more)

This product stinks for like 3 days after you wash your hair several times !! I am a brunette and I was trying to go from a dark to a medium brown and it made my roots look reddish and the rest brown. I tryed Clariol today and the color turned out great, it smelled when I applied the mixture but once I washed it out my hair doesnt smell bad now. Way WAY better!! normally I paid 5 bucks for Belle color and I spent 8$ on Clariol and it was well worth it !! (read more)

I'm warning you now, do not use this product! My hair was coloured medium brown and i wanted to go medium blonde! I followed the instructions exactly and my roots have turned out white... with the rest of it as orange. I tried using a 'Belle colour' medium blonde after it, as per instructions and this did not help either! Complete disaster. Only plus is that it did strip the colour but now it looks even worse! Couldn't afford to get my hair highlighted again so used this pre-lightener before dying my hair. It went patchy orange and yellow, even when tried to dye over it. I cried and booked a hair appointment for the next day where i was charged £100 to correct it. My hair is still a horrible tacky yellow even though two hairdressers worked on it for hours. The customer services won't offer any refund apart from vouchers - no thanks I've had enough orange hair to last me a lifetime! DO NOT BUY! (read more)

Garnier Belle Blonde medium blonde is such a lovely colour
i used it through my hair over lighter blonde hair
even using a mascara brush on the top to keep some of the white blonde
really good condition
to anyone who uses this in an attempt to go from dark
it won't make any difference really it does state clearly on the box
go to the hairdressers to go blonde, once you're blonde then you can mess around with it and your hair will be good condition
i'm pretty much always skint but i manage... (read more)

Sadly I have to admit that my hair is indeed red, but not a paticularly bad thing considering how nice a shade of 'ginger' it is yet there is no escaping the fact that I am not blonde.
I have dyed my hair black for many years and Garnier Belle Blonde managed to lift most of the colour and lightened it by 5 shades (as promised) therefore I would suggest using this product as the first of multiple pre-lighteners as my hair is in brilliant condition how and you should never expect to be able... Firstly there wasn't enough for all of my hair. Garnier Belle Blonde only covered half and my hair is not that long , it turned my hair orange even though I kept it on the right amount of time and a few people I know have had probelms with this product making their hair orange instead of the blonde on the front cover ! It has totally put me off Garnier I always stick to L'oreal now and don't go astray. (read more)
