Spectacular setting. Other-worldly pool and layout around tiny cove, with lovely spot to anchor and enjoy lunch. Had a beautiful dinner and drinks at bar, then headed to Porto Cervo billionaire club for more fun. This hotel is a bit quiet a night but great food, great service, beautiful strolls in torch light, and incredible natural atmosphere amongst the pines, scrub and Sardinian stone. The colors are so magical. So different than you see even on Corsica or in Italy. I recommend you come enjoy a lunch or dinner and soak in the experience. Splurge on a room, but rarely available.

Before we left, I looked at the reviews of other visitors on different websites. Because of the many complaints we did not have high expectations of this hotel. Unfortunately, we have to agree with most of the comments written by other reviewers. It's just not a 4 star hotel.
The entrance/reception looks cheap and they don't speak much english. When we arrived at our room (junior suite), they were small and old. However, the rooms were very clean which is important. The television looks like it's from the 80s but at least it worked. The food in the restaurant was very good and sufficient but the service in the restaurant is the worst we had every seen. Either the dishes remain on the table for 10 - 15 minutes or they bring the next course directly after you finished the previous one, you need to ask everything at least twice before you are served, any language other than Italian is not understood etc. The prices in the hotel are ridiculous. Both wine and beer are overpriced.
All these things are in contrast with the garden / pool which is very nice and clean. There gardeners have done a great job. The pools are great with islands and waterfalls.
Although I've seen complaints about the fitness, it wasn't that bad to be honest. Some of the equipment look new (incl bikes). In summary, this is an overpriced 3 star hotel although I've seen better of these as well.

Nice views, quite nice pools, very nice breakfast, we didn't have dinner there but I heard the food was very nice. The room was absolutely terrible! (I will try to add pictures later). We had a room at the other end of the hotel and if that happens to you don't even bother going into your room, just protest and request another room on the side of the hotel. Bathroom smelly, stains on linen and lamp, TV( if you can call it a TV) broken, but worse of all you can hear your neighbours go to the toilet, yawn, obviously talk etc.
The gym is not a gym, just a bike and some weights OUTSIDE in a cage when weather is 40 degrees! The hotel was a major disappointment! We paid quite a lot of money for it and we felt overcharged! The service is also very bad.

“Would not recommend Colonna Resort Country and...”

Would not recommend Colonna Resort Country and Sporting Club unless you are deaf or have out of control children! If you love designer shopping, yachts, parading your wealth then Porto Cervo Marina is the place for you, as there is nothing to do there for normal people. So Colonna Resort Porto Cervo I will not be returning. My advice to if you want to visit Italy, go to Rome, much nicer.
