Good Points: We have just returned from the Kairaba in Gambia and loved every minute of it and want to return ASAP. The staff were so helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them.
Bad Points: Prices in hotel are a bit higher than out in the resort but as a 5* hotel this was to be expected.
General comments: The airport when you arrive is a little overpowering - porters just trying to get your cases from you and then different porters putting them on the coach and all want paying! In the first few days we were hassled a little from beach sellers etc but once you have a little bit of a tan and you get used to them, it is all good fun.
Will definitely be returning to Gambia

If you go outside the resort, take a tour guide from the green building outside the hotel. We used a guy called Armstrong. He was really well informed with plenty of local knowledge and took us to Banjul market and a tiny nursery, which has been built entirely by donations.

The Kairaba Hotel is top class with lovely rooms, especially those in the garden area. It's standards are worth the 5* rating. Staff very helpful & friendly. Lovely pool area.
