    Good Points: More features are coming up all the time to add to an already impressive selection.
    Is free - as in no money, and the source code is freely available.
    Has an excellent variety of modelling tools.
    Enables a significant level of animation, including character animation.
    Has a very supportive community and selection of tutorials - also free.
    Has a game engine.
    Has a sequence editor.
    Quick Renders.
    Ray tracing.

    Bad Points: I really can't think of any.


    General comments: Blender is a free, open-source 3D modelling tool, which is now being used to create an Open movie, such are the level of tools now available in the application. I've been using it for nearly two years now at an amateur level, and it has been fantastic, but I am also constantly impressed by what the real artists in the community come up with. The gallery speaks for itself - go and visit the site!!
    For myself, I don't have much spare time, but still managed to create a short animated movie to send out to my niece in Cambodia - the personal satisfaction is priceless. and the opportunity for creativity boundless...
