What an absolute shower City Link are. I've always thought that courier companies are only as good as their drivers. Card through door with nothing filled in by driver. Phoned the depot with automated service - told from automated service to collect from depot. Went to depot to collect. Not at depot, with driver. Bought a dress online, after 3 failed deliveries to my address in manchester and NO notes or phone calls at all the address was changed to my home in Bradford. Which was then delivered twice apparently, with no note or phone all to prove this. I ordered some goods for my work and seller send with City Link.I ordered from them because they offered Next day delivery. Bought an item and paid for expedited delivery on a Saturday. At the time of writing this the Tuesday evening the following week I still have not received the goods. Sent a parcel via this company through p4d. The pick up time was great and everything looked like it went well. Until the parcel was received by my friend. They say they use 'machines' so make sure you parcel is strong and secure which I did. The box had a big rip in and most of the items I sent which were secure were smashed to pieces! Just read that City Link has been sold for £1. Apparently the parent company had been trying for 3 years to get rid of it, blaming serious management problems for its terrible service. I wouldn't have paid 1p for it. (read more)

Every item ever shipped by city link has been very late. In addition each time they say they tried to deliver but we were home and no one came. The reason being they don't even come at all hence no card is left. Then they say we need to reschedule up pick up from the depot, but with no number for the depot you can't arrange delivery so the choice is drive over an hour to Belfast or not bother with the item. This is the first time I have used Citylink, I was badly let down by Parcel2go when they failed to collect on the appointed day and my contacting them only added to frustration by offering to reschedule another collection 2 days later, enter Citylink, my parcel was collected 15.50 in Huddersfield and, through following the tracking, was signed for by the recipient at 09.47 next morning in Hampshire. When receiving the parcel, I was unfortunately unable to get to the door as I was in the bath and no one else was home, I am 17 years old and wasn't sure who was at the door. Parcels arrive you are at work leave a card, come home from work ring the reschedule service to come on day you not at work. Next day parcels arrive again, come home from work cannot reschedule as been delivered twice. Speak to an advisor apologetic will deliver for FREE on the schedule day I originally asked for. Well i see no one likes citylink... i wonder why. Well i can tell you for sure that its ran by monkeys, Drivers are pressured to deliver as many parcels as they can and normally what they forced to do is illegal. Citylink said they had tried to deliver a parcel when my husband had been outside the house working on the car at the time. No sign of them, no card through the door. They were not bothered and told Amazon they would deliver on Monday (when we are not in). Amazon not bothered either, so cancelled order. Appalling delivery and customer service. 2 days wasted waiting for parcel due, 6 phone calls made, 2 storytelling managers spoken to and yet still no parcel. Unreliable and so full of stories. I can't believe that in 2013 a delivery company is not able to provide the customer with a time slot - just am or pm would help but no - according to the customer service rep the drivers leave the depot with a van full of things to deliver but are not able to provide a route plan so the recipient can organise their day and not have to wait in from 7.30am until 6.00 pm in the hope that their delivery arrived. ridiculous!!! If you want your important parcel to reach it's destination do not use City Link. They 'claim' to have tried to deliver a parcel to my address twice although I only had one card posted through my letter box! When you call them you can only get an automated service given 2 options 1) collect the unidentified parcel from the depot, which for me is 45 miles round trip or 2) have it returned to sender....at this time you my not know who that is! Do NOT use this company. Stay well away. I waited in all day only to find out that the driver had been and left without taking my parcels. He either had the wrong address, or just saw there was no car and didn't bother ringing. Ordered iPad mini from John Lewis back in December. Waited all day, had to go out due to school run and come back and still... Nothing. Not a 'complainer' but feel forced to share yet anothere bad experience of City Link. Last week, I waited over 2 weeks for a next day service to be delivered due to 'adverse weather conditions' or at least thats what the daily texed excuse said. A couple of times I have waited for parcels from City Link. They do not turn up or leave cards. When I've tracked the service I am left to ring them to arrange another delivery date. Today they told me that they had tried to deliver but no one was in to sign for the parcel, they had called at a white door (my door is green). Collection booked for today. Telephoned three times to try to rebook when the item was not collected at 4:30pm, 5:30pm and 7:30 pm. Repeatedly assured that the item would be collected. I now have still got the item at home and have repeatedly been thwarted in all my attempts to try to rebook collection, I can only suppose that when the day actually ends at midnight the call centre staff will be willing to accept the reality that the item has not been collected and may finally be willing... Expected a consignment of two parcels from City Link five days ago. For the first two days the parcels remained in their depot, third day loaded onto van which subsequently broke down. Fourth day, one was delivered, driver said the other one was not in van. Later that day second parcel returned to depot, seems like it was in the van all the time, driver just could not be bothered to look for it. Do not use CityLink if you can help it. They never give a window for estimated delivery time and just expect you to be in all day on the day that they decide to deliver the parcel (for which you get no warning). Other delivery companies are able to send texts and estimate delivery windows, so why CityLink are unable to achieve this remains a mystery. I have been expecting a parcel for almost a week now. Paid extra for next day delivery from amazon. Waited in on a Saturday, online tracking suddenly stated "attempted deliver, card left". No card, no parcel, no good. Called customer services, no idea what had happened, said "policy not to leave cards at flats for security reasons". Hmmmm, smells fishy. Just off the phone to city link who were supposed to deliver a parcel on Monday, then Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday I call them up again assured me that it was going to be delivered this morning, Friday call city link where's the parcel..? I've had numerous issues with City Link. Latest was a package due to be delivered yesterday (next Day). It had not arrived at 16:00 when we close the office on a Friday so I phoned them up and got assurance it would be delivered by 17:30. Waited at office. 17:30 and no parcel. I arranged for my parcel to be redeliverd and someone accessed Citylink's website and changed my request to collect parcel at the depot. The change was made the day after my original request. It was done whilst I was sat in a restaurant having dinner, so I know I didn't make a mistake. The company tried to deliver to my house 3 times. They are only supposed to deliver twice so I turned up the day after to collect at depot on the third day but they said the driver had decided to try and deliver it a third time even though this is against company policy. I can't believe City Link are still doggedly clinging to the all-day delivery slot - they must be the only company left that won't narrow it down to anything less than 07.30 - 17.30, meaning you must at least be awake at 07.30 and sit in until they decide to deliver. If you miss the delivery you only get one more attempt - after that your parcel is returned to the sender. I ordered something from Laura Ashley online, and was given an online tracking reference for city link. We made sure someone was at home to receive any parcels, and on the day of expected delivery no-one arrived. When we checked the online tracking service, it said someone had been, we were not in, and that the courier had left a note in the letter box (which was not there!). Called numerous times to speak to a customer service agent for a simple inquiry which resulted in two days worth of constant phone calls and talking to an automated system to no avail in the end. It wasn't until I called their complaints line that I actually spoke to a human being, who couldn't help much at all but did her very best and was extremely nice too. Unfortunately one of the best retailers in the UK John Lewis have started to use
City Link.
The Warrington outlets is one of the worst we have ever come across.
You can’t ring a regional City Link office anymore., all numbers have been removed. They don’t want to talk to you.
Drivers are rude as are the phone staff. The drivers decide to deliver to a place near by and expect you to collect or sort the mess out yourself.
We are a national company, just recently they decided to deliver all of our items into a competitor because we are in the same industry. The answer was you must know them go and pick it up. Unbelievable but true. We have requested a manager to call us back three times, still we wait. They disserve to make no money. Specify some one else to deliver your parcels, you really don’t need City Link. Put them out of business. I believe
John Lewis can change the carrier for you when ordering so ask.
