Good Points: You get drunk off it

Bad Points: its no absinth (stupid hype-products flooding the market)

General comments: To start... the smell was alright but when mixed with water/sugar doesn't slouch at all (I am drinking the 70% version). Taste sucks at first, almost like pure medical alcohol, but softened, but after a few sips you seem to get a little bit of herbs... Missing the "thickness" it doesn't leave any taste on your buds, but its "OK" to drink. This is barely worth the money i spent on it tho.... better get the tabu or the jaques senaux, they're only a couple of bucks more, but are more the sensation I am looking for in an absinthe. Even the most pernod are better. Conclusion: If you can get this cheap, drink it, enjoy it and get drunk. If you are looking for a decent absinth, go get something else, like the jade, this is no absinthe.

Absente has a very distinct taste, I find it tastes a lot like bongella! I find it goes down very smooth though others might not agree. It is also quite good value for money. There wasn't much I haven't heard about this product but I think its reputation supersedes the drink. I couldn't really find any bad points about the drink, besides when house guests find out that you have some they all want to try it

Nice aroma, very strong anise / licorice flavor, louches properly when iced water and sugar are added. My only other personal "Absinthe" experience had been Spanish Absinthe, namley "Rodnik's Absinthe" with a black label claiming 70% alcohol by volume, (comes in a clear glass "Jack Daniels" shaped bottle) which is undoubtedly artificially flavored and does not louche at all when prepared with cold water and sugar, garbage by all accounts, better left to shots than slow enjoyment. That being said ...

This product is best if you want to see what absinthe tastes like before spending 100 to 150 dollars on a real bottle, or if you plan on using it in mixers, or for shots and don't want to use expensive real absinthe. Absente's greatest drawback, beside the lack of greater wormwood, which is what gives absinthe part of its flavor, is the artificial coloring.

Absente, "Absinthe refined" as the label calls it, is a very good pastis (absinthe substitute). It is an appealing pale yellow-green in color, about the same as Chartreuse. Absente is a bitter herbal liqueur, tasting strongly of anise, although other herbs are noticable. It is similar to Pernod (another pastis), Absente being less sweet, less syrupy, and with a stronger herbal character. Absente claims to be a re-visioning of the 19th-century absinthe of the same name, minus the infusion of ...
