“Ultimate .177 destruction- at a price”

Written on: 01/07/2012 by Kimm742 (56 reviews written)

I just had to try these. Who wouldn't want to try a pellet that looked like every rocket or spaceship they had drawn as a boy? And then there's the manufacturer's claims- "match grade accuracy", "incomparable penetration and expansion", and "superior take-down punch". And when that maker is JSB, the pellet maestros in the Czech Republic, you sit up and take note. First point of note- they're not easy to find.Ended up getting them on E-bay from a dealer in Portugal (though to be fair it was a... (read more)

Written on: 26/09/2009 by stevenw (2 reviews written)

I'm shooting a RWS 48 in .22 cal with a RWS 3-9 scope. I've found these JSB Predator Pellets to shoot tighter groups more consistently than any other pellet I've tried, including RWS hollow points and RWS super domes. The only problem I have with them is the unreal price. A recent visit to Gander Mountain had them charging $21.00 for a 200 round tin--just insane. As a result I have a hard time recommending them over my next most accurate pellet, the RWS hollow point--nearly as... (read more)

I get them and find them crap. reasonably accurate i suppose and good for game kills however ridiculously over priced and come in packs of 250.....SHOCKING....If u want the best pellets stick with accupell....I guaranteed that there isn't a single decent air gunner that would not recommend them.. JSB Predator Pellets is the single best pellet for hunting on the market! (besides the price) I have taken out crows at 50+ yards (150+ft) with my 1000fps rifle .177cal, and raccoons messing with my dogs at about 30yds (90ft), all with one well placed shot! Been wanting to try JSB Predator Pellets for a long time, but didn't due to the price. I finally ordered 4 tins from Pyramid Air because you buy 3 and the fourth tin is free. I pulled out the Crosman 2100 pumper and set a target at 20 yards to sight in. I didn't have to touch the scope. It was perfect from shooting GAMO MAGNUMS. I had groups slightly smaller than a dime@20 yards. They were devastating on two black crows. They dropped instantly from 25 yards. Thats quite a task even... (read more)

I have tried the gamo rocket (one of my favorites), hunter, mag, raptor (junk), crossman hollow point ( fly great hit hard) and by far the predtor polymag smokes them all.
my groups are amazing with them and i know they will kill what ever they hit with a good shot.
besides the price i thanks these pellets are perfect for hunting.
buy these for hunting and the crossman premier hollow for target since they fly the exact same. that way you save alot of money and can still hunt with the best. (read more)

This is a very nice pellet. All the things I have read here and other places are true so I will not repeat it. The real problem is the cost! If your gun is a springer is a joke and will not stop/drop things with anything else, then buy these. YOU got to try them!!! you will be happy you did. This is a great pellet, the pellet expands on impact because of its hollow head but also has a polymag tip that is very hard that acts like a needle and keeps going after impact, this pellet also does not over penetrate as often as other pellets especially lead free pellets like the raptors. I have just recentley bought a Crossman Seirra pro, shoots pellets at 1000 fps, So I got my target zeroed in at 40 yards! Even at that range the rifle still had 1.2 IN. groupings. After that, I went coyote hunting. It may sound inhumane, but I called a coyote in with my foxpro, and according to my range finder he was about 22 yards away. I was in a tree stand, I shot him right behind the ear. Dropped him on the spot! He weighed in at 36 pounds. Great pellets. (read more)

Very well made JSB pellet that certainly does expand as claimed and lethal on small game. They dont feed in magazine fed PCP's and become unstable at beyond about 35-40yds. Flight is greatly effected by the least amount of wind especially in 12ft/lb guns.

Dont shoot at all in Rapids,..they hate em! BSA barrels seem to like them to 40yds. (read more)

I shoot these through my CF-X and have found better results with JSB predators than any other pellet. I was shooting 1/2 inch groups at 45 meters, and 1 inch groups and 65 meters. The pellets are much longer than average pellets, which allows them to have a more stable flight. While shooting squirels, I have not yet needed more than one shot. JSB definitely makes an excellent pellet in the predator, and its worthwhile to spend the money and see if they give you the same results. (read more)

These pellets shot very well out of my shadow 1000. I have only shot a few birds and 1 squirrel. All dropped without a twitch. This pellet seems to combine the best of both worlds. Penetration and expansion. The polymer tip provides a better ballistic coefficient than hollow points and also after aiding in initial penetration, initiates expansion inside game. A must for any small game hunter. (read more)

When you start plinking hitting the target is fun, now you are hunting you challenge your self by taking the harder shot to the head to kill not wound.
And as with any shot if your not sure, don't take the shot.

I disagree with this review because... I shot all of the pellets Drew mentioned and found that the Predator was more accurate than all of them, by far and away. I agree with spending more time practising and honing your marksmanship, but when a kill shot is not made, the mushroom effect of these pellets makes sure the animal goes down so a kill can be made. These pellets are perfect for us with less skill.
I must say that after using most of the pellets offered in the "specialty" category for .177 rifles, these pellets mean business. I bought these Predator pellets after reading about a hunter in Texas who has to shoot Armadillos on his property. Armadillos have really hard skin, and he had tried several types of pellets which basically gave the Armadillos a bad bruise. Then he tried the Predator pellets and has stuck with them ever since.
They are good-looking pellets, rather unique with a hard pointed red cone embedded into a hollow point pellet, so you get penetration and expansion.
