    The Alvormar Apartments were a pleasant surprise. They are only a short distance from the lovely town centre and the bus stop and taxi rank are only 2 minutes walk around the corner. The beach is an 8 minute stroll.In Alvor you have to choose between a beach location and a central location , you cannot have both.If your priority is to be by the beach then this accommodation's position is probably not suitable.There is also a large supermarket 3 minutes away.There is a minimum of traffic noise. The apartments themselves are spacious clean with air conditioning, kettle, telephone,cable television and micro wave. It is also well stocked with plates, cutlery etc. A good sized balcony and nice bathroom. You might occasionally suffer a little noise from guests walking down the corridors as many of the bedrooms backed onto the corridors. It was not a problem for us. The staff speak excellent English and are very helpful. 24 hour reception. The swimming pool and surrounding area is a bit of let down, the pool being small and only limited sunbeds cramped into a small area. There is a nice poolside bar serving snacks and only a coffee shop at the front of the hotel. A book exchange library is available. The Alvormar apartments were ideal for us and we had a smashing holiday in the resort Alvor which has retained some of its charm and authenticity. A good selection of restaurants bars and shops. a nice harbour and a long sandy beach which is 10 minute from the centre. All round we would recommend both the apartments and resort to couples, or more mature singles. Families would be better off choosing an accommodation nearer the beach with a better pool and maybe another resort where there are more facilities for children. Alvor has wonderful character but it slightly quieter than some other on the Algarve which was great for us.

    We wanted somewhere peaceful and relaxing, but with enough bars and restaurants to keep us from getting bored, and Alvor turned out to be the perfect destination. We stayed at the Alvomar Apartments for 2 weeks as a couple. The apartments are seconds away from the village centre. Our apartment was basic, but clean and spacious, and the pool area was peaceful and relaxing - we spent a lot of time there. The village itself has lots of excellent restaurants and bars (we could have eaten at a differ ...

    Alvormar apartments are situated in a side street in the centre of Alvor which makes local amenties very accessible. They are a smaller complex and therefore most personal, the rooms are excellent. On a slight incline but not a problem unless you have severe walking difficulties. About a 15 minute walk to the beach. highly recommended unless you want a beach side location.
