Good Points: Can be carried around easily and is comfortable to use.

Bad Points: Have had many problems with this laptop.

General comments: I wouldnt recommend this laptop for someone who needs a reliable laptop and uses it daily. Have had to buy three chargers as they keep overheating and stop working as there is a loose connection in the actual laptop. In total have spent more than £200 repairing this laptop and would have much preffered to have bought a new laptop instead. Also it constantly freezes and is incredibly slow.

I use this laptop for business and casual use, and I am quite pleased with it. Mine has 512Meg Ram. I am disagreeing with a couple posts on here....I don't have 'blue screen' crashes, and I have been able to hook another desktop monitor to it with no issues. I like how fast it boots up, and am overall pleased with it's performance.

Good look with this laptop! I have found the Dell Inspiron 2200 to actually be quite poor, especially when considering the price I payed for it. For example, the battery is bad, slow, isn't compatible with a monitor as far as I am aware. Overall i would say this Dell laptop is good, but not good enough when considering its price and competitors therefore I do not recommend the inspiron 2200.

If you buy make sure you back up everything to a flash drive due to the guarantee that this computer will crash more than once and gets hot very fast

This notebook came with 256 mb of ram, which everyone knows just doesn't cut it anymore so I went to see about getting additional RAM, but the 258mb, turns out to be non-removable, while the 512 and 1 gig are. Neither the dell website nor manuals tell you anything about this. I only discovered this when I took a look inside, and now I have a slow running laptop and there is nothing I can do about it. So before you buy any computers check the website ( www.crucial.com ). They'll give you the info ...

I bought the Dell Inspiron 2200 laptop after a lot of research. It was the warranty that sold it to me, but with luck I won't need it. The machine might benefit from more memory, but it runs pretty well anyway; even doing video capture using a Grabbee lead, or transferring VHS onto DVD or WMA files. It runs the other applications I need without fuss and multitasks pretty well, though it probably would not suit a gamer. The display is good, bright and clear, and I like the black no fuss ...

I have not been able to use the Dell Inspiron-2200 laptop effectively due to continual blue screen crashes. The repair procedures are specific and many hours need to be spent on the telephone, downloads, updates and reloading associated software. (Even formating the hard drive and starting again) As a novice in this field it has been a massive burden on the family and the laptop is lucky to still be in one piece. Sometimes you just want someone to hand it back to to resolve. You may get this if ...

I am not very computer literate, so I find the Dell Inspiron 2200 does all I need. A more powerful processor would have been better, as It can be a bit sluggish, but overall It does well, and is connected via a wireless Internet connection which works well. I did select a better wireless card at time of purchase, which has proved a good move. The DVD drive did stop working, but a call to Dell solved the problem over the phone. As with the other Dell laptops you can add/remove various specs, If y ...
