Had a bra fitting appointment at the Handforth Dean store, the staff member only took one measurement, not the cup size, I told her the type of bra I wanted but she brought something completely different in various sizes non of which were suitable 30 minutes later she brought in a colleague to look at the bra I had tried on and both just stood looking at me with a helpless look on their faces. I won’t be getting f my bras from M&S again, don’t offer a bra fitting service when your staff have clearly no training in bra fitting!

Visited 2 branches for a proper bra fitting having used the service years ago and was impressed. Sadly Stratford and Bishops Stortford both refused me a proper bra fitting saying instead they prefer to let you waste hours trying on loads of different bra's in the hope of finding the right one!! I asked in an empty store that I didn't want to waste time and energy trying different sizes if they could just take a proper measurement which would obviously save everyones time, but was told that they don't measure cup size just under bust. What's the point of that? A complete waste of time and not the service being advertised

The customer service in Sunderland M&S is awful to start with, the bra fitting was even worse. She told me I was hanging low, my back size might change with any support and when I told her the back band was uncomfortable she told me that was a weight issue. She shrugged when I told her it doesn’t feel right. The experience lasted all of 11 minutes and was so uncomfortable and humbling. I would never recommend this experience to anyone as I walked out feeling overweight and ashamed.

So I got recommended by a friend to get measured at marks and spencers. The lady who measured me just put in 1 bra and said that the bra wasn't supporting me and that I should try bravissimo. She didn't even have a look at other bras. She also said that they only go up to a H. Disappointed that she didn't even try and look for other bras. Atleast bravissimo staff try. I will not be returning to m&s even if they have my size service was rubbish. I wouldn't recommend any of family or friends to get measured with m&s disappointed.

Just asked my bra size, no measure nothing. Useless.

Cannot see the point of the in store bra fitting service was told to measure myself she woman asked what size I was wearing and went to get the same sizes from the shop floor which was ill fitting it was like she just couldn't be bothered total waste of my time wouldn't recommend as basically you go in store to measure yourself and they just guess what size they think you are

My experience of a recent bra fit was a total waste of time. The lady who fitted the bra was lovely and friendly but the measurements for my bra was incorrect. Obviously when your standing in front of a mirror and not moving around you cannot tell if the bra is suitable but I was reassured and told my cup size and band size. After going home and wearing the bra around the house I knew the bra was going back … I could see bits popping out all over the place the bra was riding up my back and cutting into my underarm. I made another journey to Marks & Spencer where I made a guess at my size due to no slots available for a bra fit for 2 weeks. I’ve always purchased my bras from Marks & Spencer but this experience as put a sour taste in my mouth.

I had a bra fitting at the Scarborough store to which I turned up 5 mins before yet no staff member was visible. I had to go to the till to ask if anyone was there, the man behind the till went to look and a lady appeared looking…..shall we say not happy! I went through to the changing room where she asked what size I was and to ‘take my top off’ which I did. She then said ‘oh yeah’ and proceeded of to bring in a selection of bras. I just had to try them on and shout when I had it on to which she would look and see what she thought. I found this a complete waste of time as I needed measuring and I completely understand about covid distancing yet the service is not advertised as a visual appointment only. Needless to say I purchased nothing as why I did there I could have done at home! The lady was not helpful and to be honest didn’t look very happy on her work!

Booked a virtual appointment, they even sent me reminders to make sure I would not forget my Teams virtual fitting with them, however, it was them who failed to turn up! Waited for 20 minutes, nothing. Then attempted to call their hopeless customer service. Young lad had no idea about the services they offer, had to 'consult with a colleague' and then the line went dead. What a bunch of complete amateurs. Will certainly not spending my money at that joke outfit. I guess M&S used to once stand for service and quality, now it's run down and substandard.

I took my mother to the bra fitting with me and she was taking a seat outside. I’m a 21 year old adult . I’m a plus-size . When the lady started measuring me she was okay she then went to get the right bra size for me each time she would go she would tell my mother what’s going on and I didn’t find that comfortable she said my bra size isn’t in stock and that the bra I’m wearing is causing my body to look scratchy which I agreed on . She then said to my mother are you her real mum have u seen your daughters bra ? This was very rude my mother has nothing to do with why my bra wasn’t fitted in the first place . She then didn’t tell me the right size she assumed I was a certain size ! She tried forcing my mother to come see how my back and bra looks !! No bloody privacy ! Rude woman never recommending M&S Bradford broadway to any plus size . They’re awfully awful . My name is Sumia .

The bra fitting assistant at the M&S Canterbury store has a rude shirty attitude to customers. I have previously been fitted with bras bu her that have felt too tight around the circumference of the bra band, and on questioning her about whether the size may be incorrect, I was met with her rudecondescending attitude and informed that she was fully trained and cant help me if I am not willing to accept her advice. Customer services could ensure that their assistants are polite and friendly to customers, and surely if a bra is uncomfortable for a customer, then it is not the right bra for them, despite the assistant saying otherwise. What happened to M&S staff being courteous and friendly to customers?

I purchased today as I thought two total support bras the fleur lace collection, as the cotton ones have been given side support plastic bones and the ones I have at home have not, the plastic bones are not comfortable so now I cannot buy them. The lace bras are not the size on the box, and again the straps are to short, this is such a shame as I have at home earlier bras of the same style, these two bras are not 42G more like 38E, They are two small, and should fit if they were not, so having to return them. It is unacceptable not to make them with proper adjustable straps as one likes to wear them loose and tighten when one wants. so now I wont be getting my lingerie from M&S and that's sales lost for your company.

Have always purchased my underwear from here and always Been fully satisfied. However recently have had 4 sessions of bra fitting and had to return three times as their bra cups are far too large, the sides deep which causes chaffing and soreness in my armpit area. One one occasion after a bra fitting I returned to the store and was told by another fitter that I had Been advised on a totally ill fitting bra that was a size too small. I have had this conversation with.friends and even a couple of store staff who have agreed with me that there seems to be a change in the design. Have always bought the adored and truly range for years but am now unable after trying at least 15 bra,s yo find a suitable one.

I bought 2 new non underwired bras from M&S 28/9/17 at £18 each in a style that I have bought many times before. They are the only bras I wear. The choice of colour was limited in the Telford store so I bought one black and one white. I wore the black one the following day and by the evening had a large sore burning patch underneath and on the underside of both breasts. I washed both bras by hand and thought that M&S would want to know about this so I emailed them on 2/10/2017, received a sympathetic response and was asked to return the bra and receipt to them which I did. I also took photos of the burns, just to record how bad it was, didn't send those but have kept them. I do not incidentally have sensitive skin and have never had a problem like this before and wore the white (washed) bra the following day with no ill effects. So far so good, I had complete confidence in this major clothing retailer and have bought all my bras and many other clothes from them for years. Then I received a letter hoping I was fully recovered and that they took great care regarding the quality of the clothing they sell, test rigorously, have stringent controls and user trials and suggested that I may be unusually sensitive to one of the components in the bra and that I should see a dermatologist. The letter also included an £18 gift card as a 'gesture of good will'. I was very surprised, annoyed and disappointed at this rather patronising and condescending response. I replied, returning my 'gesture of goodwill' with the letter and asked for the results of the tests I assumed they had done on my bra, a replacement and after that, if they felt that a gesture of goodwill should be made (as it certainly should have been) that could be made separately. I sent this letter to the person who wrote to me and sent a copy to M&S's chief executive. The next letter arrived but wasn't from either of the people I had written to. This person stated that as there was no fault with the bra I should use the gift card which they had sent to me (and I had returned). I rang this person this morning, was told that they hadn't tested the bra, and had sent me the gesture of goodwill gift card, rather than a refund, as they don't accept any skin reactions are caused by their products. It was a difficult conversation as the woman kept talking over me and I had to ask her several times to stop and listen to what I was saying. Furthermore she told me that they hadn't received my returned gift card even though it was in the same envelope as the letter they had obviously received and replied to. She was evasive about the procedure they have for opening mail. The woman offered to send me a Cheque for £18 as a gesture of goodwill which I have accepted as a refund. I am very sad to have been treated this way by a major company and household name which I had complete trust in. I understand that from time to time problems with items purchased do occur but not that M&S could destroy credibility in this way. Incidentally although the pain and soreness has gone I still have faded scarring. Now I have to find a supplier of pretty, comfortable non underwired bras. Any suggestions welcome.

If you require such a level of customer service you should probably shop somewhere else and pay A LOT more than you would at M&S. M&S is fast fashion, just like the vast majority of brands at the moment, if you buy bras for £18 you can't expect they will carry tests on each piece of garment you say it gave you a rash, especially if - as I understand - you didn't bother testing yourself for possible allergies. I think they went above and beyond to make you happy, even though it was not their fault, but you sound like someone who cannot be made happy.

I have always bought M+S underwear, however the last 3 bras I have purchased have been really uncomfortable. Where the fasteners are and the label, the stitching irritates my skin. I returned a bra last year after struggling with it for month;I got some refund but only a small proportion of the purchase price as I hadn't saved the receipt. I then purchased 2 soft feel bras which have been no better. Although the fabric is soft, the stitching is really uncomfortable. Very disappointed and won't be buying any more.

I have bought your bras for 50 years but now , after buying 4 in the last year, I am so itchy, I thought it may be my age but after reading recent reviews, the fault is not with me but the rubbish elastic and cheap thread that is used, when they were made in this country , there were no problems but now all the company wants is more profit and less customer service. i will dispose of them asap. A waste of money I could have given to the Red Cross or some other charity.Hope you do the same ?

Went to to try to get a small back (30) bra in a large cup size - pretty hopeless. The only ones they had were T-shirt bras, so I tried one on. Within a minute of the bra touching my skin, I had come up in hives all over my chest, torso and hands (where the fabric had touched my skin). The changing room assistant was completely dismissive when told!!! She didn't care at all, so I left and went to another department store where I tried on and purchased a selection of bras in my size, including a T-shirt bra, with no reaction.

Have bought several T33 07434/8020 classic bras over the past eighteen months or so. I put my thumb through the first one doing it up the first time I wore it. I have now got holes in 5 of the bras in the elastic back next to the hooks. The newest bra is just a few weeks old, I've worn and washed it several times and it has started to hole on the stitched zigzag seam. I tried mending some of the others but they have frayed a lot.I went into a Marks store to show them and was told that I have been putting them on wrong and stretching them too much! I have been wearing a bra for 50 years and now I am being told not to do it up from behind but to do it up at the front and turn it around. I find it difficult to put my arms through if I put it on that way and anyway it doesn't have any instructions to say to do it that way!The store told me that it is the best selling bra and they have never had any complaints. Has anyone else experienced this?

A dreadful reaction to the rubber in M&S bras.. Both shoulders blistered and a rash that looked like shingles. What sort of cheap rubber are they using?

I thought I was alone!
Having similar reaction to my M&S bras. It is really uncomfortable!
This was not the case some years back.

I too became allergic to the rubber in M+S bras, their answer to this is to only wear a bra for 8 hours at a time. What are we supposed to do when the 8 hours is up, whip it off in the middle of the office?

Same with me. Blisters on both shoulders that made it very difficult to wear an alternative bra for a number of days after. Rather unfortunate given my F cup size!!

I had same reaction on both shoulders with itchy, weeping blisters. The M&S bra in question does have a warning about discomfort being possible but I thought that referred to the elasticity i.e. getting tight and not the fabric in the straps.

I have suffered allergies on two occasions, am currently going through the second one, it is horrendous. The knickers gave me a dreadful reaction around the legs in the summer, I never wore them again, I just bought a nightie and around the front of the neck I came out in this horrendous painful rash, it is awful and a week later is still not gone. It is itchy and weepy and so sore. I was given my money back but nothing else was said to me, the labels all state the ingredients but excluding the trim. It is the trim that must be the problem. Do not wear any of their stuff, as each time you react it gets worse, the body just reacts stronger. I am taking a prescribed anti histamine, but if hasnt gone in two more days the gp is going to have to give me steroids. It's not about the money it is about being a responsible retailer and knowing what is in the garments surely.
