Having covered 17000 mls in my Seat 1.9 FR TDI since new without any problems I am more than pleased with the FR TDI. I love the torque and ease of overtaking without having to change down a gear. Performance through the gears takes some beating and the smooth 6 speed box makes high speed cruising effortless. Highly recommended for someone wanting good performance with low fuel costs.

My previous car was a Seat Leon 1.8 20VT which is also an excellent car but it was only returning 28 mpg. Because I am driving 20,000+ miles a year I needed good fuel consumption, but was unwilling to sacrifice performance.
So, I compromised with the Seat Leon FR TDI 150. Performance 0-30 forget it, but 30-80 is stunning - probably better that the 1.8 20VT with 180 bhp. At the same time I've got 5 doors, a very comfortable car and 45-50mpg
I think I've got the best of both worlds and would not consider going back to petrol.
