Good Points: Have had no problems with this hosting company. Customer services has been fine.
Bad Points: They no longer provide FrontPage Extensions.
General comments: I have several websites with 123-reg and have just went to setup another one, only to be told that they no longer provide Frontpage Extensions. As I use Microsoft Frontpage for all of my websites, I will unfortunately now have to find another hosting company. They told me that it was a corporate decisions to cease providing Frontpage Extensions - not a very good move on their part as customers using Frontpage have been left in the cold. They will tell you that you can upload your website using an FTP program. In actual fact, I have been told by several knowledgeable contacts that this is not advisable and that some of the functions won't work unless I have FrontPage Extensions.

123 Reg.co.uk are a good host however they are not a good choice for most business's as they do not support PHP and ASP. However they are an excellent, cheap and reliable choice for most basic websites. Well recommend this company for your web hosting.

Have to pay for web creation site before seeing any examples.
When sending enquiries no responses for 72 hours as far as I was aware and then I got an email to say I have not contacted us for 72 hours assume error is fixed. No otheer contact it seems.
Instant site creation is very unfriendly. Well I do not recommend 123-Reg.co.uk
Could not even use three seperate seven letter words as title which make he name of my organisation.

Service as expected. Very much a no-frills deal, but absolutely fine if you do your research first and understand what they do and don't provide. Their website is a little 'clunky' and you do have to really dig around for the info you need, but that's not really worth getting wound-up over...
oh and i think you need to obtain a user-id first in order to be able to thoroughly search their website which isn't ideal - it should really be available for all to see upfront.

My recent life with 123-reg was a friend ordered a hosting contract, 123-reg told him after he had ordered the package that the domain name that he had wouldn't work with the hosting package (what a load of twaddle) we then cancelled the hosting package for him, but they didn't give him the full refund, they kept £6.50, on enquiring as to why they kept the money they said it was for the price of the .co.uk name that he had also ordered (seems a bit steep £6.50), I then logged into ...

Can't change the name of the free email addresses.Uploading large files using default FTP software is impossible. Need to use 3rd party programme.Lots of other problems. Can't name them all in my experience therefore I do not recommend 123-Reg.co.uk

Cheap and does what is says on the tin! I have had no problems with 123-reg. All these people on here don't know what they are doing! it like you don't buy a car then complain when they don't tell you how to drive?The service works you guys need to take a class in hosting then try again!

Support queries were always answered and they were a patient lot however I am not taking my domain away from them now due to my experience...
Price is a bit high for what they offer. There are some incredibly basic features that they do not have as far as I am concerned and therefore I do not recommend 123-reg.co..uk

I have used 123-reg for both registering domains and hosting, and I have been lucky to have had no problems. When I have had an issue I have been able to search in the support or contact support via email and have solved the problem.
I love the fact that if I am stuck I can get into my files on-line and do a quick edit, and with regard some others comments about how difficult it is to navigate the account section, I have had NO problems and use it ALL the time.

Unhelpful customer service via website, no telephone number as far as I am aware, happy to take your money and when you do email you get a response directing you to automated responses and then another saying your query is resolved? I do not recommend 123 reg! I'm now going to cancel any future service with this company.

I do not recommend 123reg.co.uk. Everything else in my experience was not to my satisfaction... Their Website Builder returned an error, I tried to connect to the Support system (FAQs) but although I was accessing it from the Control Panal the system told me someone else was using my email and so I couldn't connect to Support as far as I was aware! I thought it was just me that had had problems but my sister and another friend had exactly the same problems and it looks like we are not alone. I have had real problems dealing with this company. As far as I am concerned they have not provided me with the service I was expecting. As far as I am aware they have not yet answered my emails too?
I bought a domain name and paid a considerable sum (for me) for web hosting. I wish to retain my new domain name but dump the web hosting with 123 Reg as I am personally unhappy with the service they have delivered me.

Joined 123 reg as I was looking for a UK based service provider for my website. They were cheap I give them that but getting email set up was a nightmare in my opinion I felt the need to get my web designer to sort it out. They dont reply to emails so difficult to get support. They also dont support PHP either. A very frustrating experience now sorted out but I have the luxury of paying someone to do it all for me. If you don't then look elsewhere.

123-Reg are 'Cheep but in my opinion Not Very Cheerful' brand of domain name supplier. In my opinion their website is poorly set up and it is difficult to find information and to manage your account. I registered a number of domains with them, and then found I could not manage the accounts very well - the process was hard to use for me. After 123-reg DNS issues I decided to run my own DNS servers and avoid the trouble. customer services is 10p a min, it will cost you at least £1 before you speak to anyone - if you are lucky.
They never got back to me when I emailed for help, I can try again, but I am not expecting a reply. If I wanted to write a complaint letter that will also get ignored.
