Good Points: Nothing is forbidden food. You can have what you want at the reward meal. Cravings reduced. You can always 'take some home for later'.

Bad Points: You need to be disciplined about eating only protein during the day. There are contradictions in the books about what to eat at the reward meal.

General comments: I like this diet plan very much simply because I've found it pretty easy to stick to - unlike the usual diets which require counting of points, calories, or similar. In the Heller's books, the advice about what to eat at the reward meal varies - the original book says have whatever you want; later books are more restrictive. I've found I can have what I want, though I do always include something sensible like salad or vegetables. The best thing for me about this plan is that it has taken away the sugar/carb cravings I used to have during the day. I can now keep bread, biscuits and other high carb goodies in the kitchen, but be perfectly happy to wait for the evening reward meal to eat them - and I'm content with just a small amount of these foods at the end of the meal. All in all, a very satisfactory plan; and I have lost 33 pounds in the last two and a half months, so yes, it works.

This is yet another low-carb diet which differs slightly from Atkins in that you can eat more higher carb foods (whole wheats and fruits), you're not allowed to snack between meals and which allows one reward meal a week, where you can have carbs, so long as you start and finish the meal within in a set time limit so as to aid digestion.

On the whole these low carb plans tend to be easy to follow and fairly effective, it's really just a matter of personal taste as to what suits you best. ...
