Absolutely shocking would never advise anyone to buy one of these makes of tv its had its couple of problems been taking away from us to be repaired with no other tv left for us with 3 kids in the house and now we are being told that they dont know when we will be geting it back . Customer service is nothing but attrocius. If on ly the ratings above had zero stars it would hav been perfect . I really hope some one from aldi is reading this . (read more)

i have had a blackout problem since i first got the tv i have had the engineers out umpteen times they even sent a guy from australia to me and he just replaced my tv which worked fine for about a year and now i have the blac
kout again just as my warranty has run out .is there any way i can fix this as i can not afford a new tv right now

PLease can someone help me.. bought a Tevion 42" Plasma from Aldi May 08, he went bang Sept 08, I've since been trying to track down a phone no. to contact Tevion direct as the store which I bought it from says to call the no. on the box but box is in skip since May! There is a phone no. on back of TV for Rep of Ireland but it's not registering, like its disconnected.. anyone have any no. for Tevion so I can contact them and get this sorted before it runs out of warrantee..

The Tevion Aldi Elite 42" Plasma TV looks as good as pricey tv and seems to do same job at least until mine broke. Lots of heat off it so lots of juice used, on/off switch has broken so now useless without repair, low frequency sounds cause vibration of chassis and distortion (read more)

I bought tv from aldi but on 8th dec 08 went wrong no no2 scart,called helpline informed me they have a new load of tvs arriving in the country and I will recieve a call within 2 weeks. Called again on 18th of dec informed they would call on 22/12/08 to arrange delivery,no phone call recieved,called again on 22/12 23/12 28/12 29/12 to find out what was happening no answer.Called again on 6/1/09 was informed the tv would be delivered on Sun 11 jan after midday, then was called by an engineer... The Tevion Aldi Elite 42" Plasma TV is a good TV when it works, but the after service is rubbish and for that reason i would not buy another. I have been trying for months to get them back out but again the number is no longer working/not valid. There is a software problem with our TV and we suffer from half a black screen from time to time (well a few time a day. On both occasions the T.V. has been non-functional, down time on the first breakdown took a month.
Second breakdown has taken a month and fault is still not resolved, and the customer service is unhelpful I feel (e.g. asking the customer to ring the spares factory to "chase up" the part to repair the T.V.) and communication is poor as far as I am concerned.
Spent £570 on a new T.V. and in 8 months it has only worked for 6 months

This tv has great style, looks good, sharp picture and plenty of extras. But it's confusing to operate for a novice. Instructions seem to assumes operator understands abbreviations and connections. Plus could not get sky remote link up. (read more)

First I had intermitent picture loss with half the screen going black, two weeks ago the srceen went completely dead. The set is still under warranty. I rang Tevion and they said the set would be replaced in 48 hours, I'm still waiting. All I get now is an answer phone. Has any one ever got Tevion to fix their broken TV? Reading other reviews it seems this is an inferior product, with a guarantee that Tevion wont always honour. (read more)

We were told the picture kept cutting out because they had a software problem and that their technician can rectify it within a couple of minutes. They have been fobbing us off, telling us they are waiting for the software to come from Germany etc. for ages now. The stage for legal action has come because we only have a black screen with sound now! There is still 18 months warranty left on the television and they probably hope that we will give up. What a nightmare! They said 10 working days for repair of my Tevion Aldi Elite 42" Plasma TV and it's now entering the ninth week and we are still without a TV! Nobody calls us, we have to call all the time and the only statement the "helpline" has is "we are waiting for the part to repair your TV". What are they waiting for, somebody to invent the part? The Tevion Aldi Elite 42" Plasma TV is a fantastic quality HD ready set, and now the RGB blackout issue is fixed there is nothing to deter from buying this great TV.
HD picture from the TV drive is stunning, and it has a nice looking panel with detachable speakers, so it will fit nicely into any decor.

A fix for the RGB Scart blackout problem is supplied by Pebble UK through the service number in the package. You must get a job number, and then the fix will be applied by a Pebble authorised service agent.

I have had two upgrades to my Tevion 42" Plasma, this fixed the blacking out problem but when I turn my Freeview box off the set doesn,t seem to know what to do for about 8sec,s {it seems like an eternity} it flashes and flickers as if it's confused. I have been told I can have my money back bit. It's such a good picture, what could I replace it with.

Hurry and get yourself one set before the supply runs out.
By-the-way, it is much more economical to subscribe to TELEWEST DriveTV than to subscribe to SKYHD, which is not currently available anyway.
All those 'pundits' on Plasma TV forums who slated the Tevion 42" TV set were just blowing hot air, and they should be eating humble pie. This TV sets resolution is actually super at 1028x720, and it is HD-READY...

I have purchased two of these plasmas and both have had the same problems from day one, system crashes - wont respond to remote or front buttons & have to reboot to clear it, audio/video out of synch - some channels worse than others, single lines of pixels turning white - changing channel clears it, occasional buzzing from speakers. One set has been returned for repair (not happy about that for a tv I only had for 2 weeks) after a further 2weeks repair centre told me It needs a new main circuit board & they don't know when they will have the part. Most annoying of all there is no phone number to contact Aldi. VERY DISSAPOINTED

Finally got a replacement tv, but that was returned with exactly the same problems as before, got a refund. I have decided to try one of the 40 inch LCD tv's on sale thur 7th sept with similar features also a Tevion. I suppose some will think i'm a sucker for punishment but I have never had a problem with tevion/medion's after sales service, in fact when I rang Tevion direct they knew nothing about the 42inch plasmas. Well I took the plunge, and boy I am glad I did. The Tevion Aldi Elite 42" Plasma TV has fantastic connectivity with DVI, 2 x scart, 2 x component s video, and composite Rf etc... I have my Sky Digital connected to one scart, and my program scan DVD player to the other, and it's fantastic! You are right, when it works, it really did work!
<br>In the end, after about 4 weeks, I gave up and returned my set to Aldi, and left in the back of the shop along with others waiting to be returned to the manufacturer. I bought a Panasonic, paid £300.00 more, but it does have freeview built in, but not the connectivity of the Aldi.
<br>Aldi head office did phone me eventually, offering a replacement set, but it was too late, the Panny was installed on my wall.

I was happy with the Tevion Aldi Elite 42" Plasmer TV The warranty that you get is far better than any other shops can offer. With out you paying more for it..(currys pc world.) If you take a look at the back of your t.v You will see the manufacture sicker on the mother board and its samsung..( go and buy a sasmsung 42" t.v in any shop with the aldi warrany and see what you pay.)

TheT evion Aldi Elite seemed like a bargain, and so it is for the price, picture is very good, connectivity is very fair, componenet, PC, , DVI, and all the latest functions.
Sadly this set developed a fault with the remote, that in the end turned out to be the receiver that is faulty not the remote. Problem is, Aldi have arranged to have a company called Warranty Service Centre, look after these sets, Aldi is after all, a food shop.

I have had my 42 inch plasma for three months and it has developed a fault whereby it just shuts down. Power on power off etc sometimes restarts it but it is frustrating. Is this the RGB blackout? However, I cannot fault ALDI they have offered me a full refund without any fuss at all. I have nothing but praise for their service

Me too.
Had my Tevion 42" plasma for almost 5 years now, not one problem!
in fact, the picture quality on SD is so good I cancelled my Sly HD when the free trial ran out as I couldn't see any difference!
I have just bought an LG 50" plasma and the Tevion picture is better, brighter, stronger colours.
Tbh, I only bought the LG because it was reduced to £300.
Was going to sell the Tevion but ended up keeping it as a monitor for my laptop.
