WHAT HAVE I DONE!! I signed up to Plusnet Value on 3 November for broadband and my wireless router was delivered on the Saturday (7 Nov). I have had constant low download speed (average of 0.6mg). We have filled the questions (twice)sent to us by the support team and even sent them excel spreadsheets of speeds throughout the day. It's still not working. They told me it would take 10days to do all the tests. I tried to cancel 11 Nov and was told I couldn't as the 7 day cooling off period counts from the day I signed up & I would have to pay £90.81. Upon checking the terms and conditions (section 14) under 'Your rights to cancel your agreement' it turns out I can. Its 7 working days from the day after your received your equipment. Worst customer service ever. Next time I sign up with a company I'll research it properly.

When I first joined Plusnet 18 months ago, I was well satisfied. But the service has gone down-hill. My line can take just under 2mb giving me about
1mb to 1.5mb. I think Plusnet, have had line reducers installed. I now can get as low as 153kbps nearly dial up speed and highest is about 700kbps.
what I am doing about it, is walking with my feet to the Post Office who dont use line speed limiters. I can understand line limiters being used on high line values ( people that can receive 10mb) but no ...

I moved to PlusNet and HAD to leave them after 1 month only. Was bound by the contract so had to use them for another month.
I was having disconnects and when I complained, the first response was that yes they can I see that I am having disconnects and I should check my infrastructure (filters, sockets).
I told them that I was using the same stuff before switching to them and never had any issues.
They replied back saying that there was a mistake there is no disconnects they can see and sent me ...

This is the worst isp I've ever had the misfortune to use. Their prices are high, their service is useless and their products have all the quality of something cobbled together by unqualified amateurs in a bedroom. Take their webmail - 'squirrelmail', which seems to be some cheapo opensource rubbish that has all the bells and whistles - except none of them, I repeat none of them, work. I recently tried logging in to 'squirrelmail' and gave up; six hours later when I came back to my machine, the ...

Customer service is good but unfortunately the speed and consistency of connection has seriously deteriorated over the last year (I've been a customer 4 years). I'm on a long line but used to get a steady 1.8meg service. Now I'm lucky if I get 0.5meg and it's regularly below this.

I would give plusNet a zero star rating if I could.....I moved into a houseshare with a PlusNet line and they are awful in every single regard...

They employ line throttling on all of their packages (except PlusNet Pro package which has a download limit of 80GB) from noon to around midnight when download/webrowsing speeds dip to near 56k modem levels (I kid you not)

    avoid like a plague

I switched to Plusnet Broadband exactly 4 weeks ago. The transfer was easy. However, I have found that the speeds are very low. One of the technical team members suggested that I should upgrade. Considering the cost of the upgrade solution I called to cancel. I was told that the cooling off period is seven days and I had lost my right to cancel. The company explicitly says that customers should allow two weeks for the line speeds to be monitored and stabalised. So when I mentioned this they said ...

I had been with Plus Net for over 6 years. Joined originally as it was a high quality service, with excellent technical support. Since they got bought over by BT a few years ago, the quality of service is absolutely awful. Not only has the customer service level gone through the floor, but the speed and consistency of the line is now terrible. They went from an excellent, higher cost, but still value for money ISP, to a low cost ISP for people who don't know any better. If you value a good ...

I've been with PlusNet for many many years. I've had numerous problems during the past two years since BT took over and the customer service is appalling and often rude. Unfortunately, I had recommended many friends and family who are now experiencing the same poor customer service. Equally, they advertise up to 8Mb download speeds - I have one of the top packages and get a mere 0.6Mb - for which they blame BT (how ironic!)

I have been a customer with PlusNet Broadband for 1.5 year and just until I had to cut the service due to moving overseas I have been pleased with the internet service. However, at the end of my contract they faulty closed me internet connection 4 days to early and after several emails and phone calls they still refuse to compensate me by replacing the missing service. I such a situation I think there service has been unacceptable.

The PlusNet Broadband internet service is very intermittent and slow. The "customer service" needs re-writing as "customer sounding wall hotline". I'm going back to Bethere - awesome, don't know why i left!

Do not go with Plusnet whatever you do avoid at all costs!
Upon starting they told me an engineer has to come out to either install a new line or restart. I had to pay £105 which would be refunded if all I need is a restart. I paid (stupidly) and when an engineer came out and restarted by already existing BT installed line. Plusnet have said they won't give me my £105. Completely mislead by them. I've complained and still no luck. They've described that an engineer did a restart, but ...

fuming! PlusNet Broadband messed up my original e-mail account, and after 4 hours, and 5 phone calls, finally resolved it, only to tell me i wasnt entitled to comp, as i should have called tech support sooner! very rude and patronising 'customer' service, who BTW are on skype, so you cant hear what they say, though you can hear yourself, twice! am considering once again swithcing elsewhere, but this time will check the reviews of my new supplier first!!

Plusnet restrict most services. This includes restricting downloads to under 1/2mb in normal residential hours.

I've been with PlusNet for just over a year now and I've experienced some dreadful download speeds of around 330kbps ("due to my internal wiring") but after much complaining it appears to have stabilised around 1.8Mb! For a short period after asking for my MAC code and telling them I was going to switch ISPs it briefly shot up to 2.8Mb.

Beware also aware that they are frequently altering their terms and conditions, imposed upon them by their owners BT, of whom they claim they are totally indep ...

Utter, utter rubbish. I was with Plusnet phone and broadband for a year; they messed up my initial broadband transfer, leaving me without internet access for three weeks; there were constant dropouts, and speeds were pretty bad. I cancelled my account in May, and they're still attempting to take money out of my bank account two months later, for services they no longer provide. I've used a lot of ISPs, and Plusnet have been the worst by a country mile. Worse than Tiscali, worse than Virgin, they ...

Brilliant ISP. I've been with Plusnet for about 6 years now and currently have 2 accounts, one with domain name hosting. Everything just seems to work as it should, I've moved house several times and +net have moved with me without any problems whatsoever.

The only issues I had were back in 2006 when service was being upgraded to 8mb, my speeds were bad. I contacted them by support ticket and their forum and the problem was acknowledged and dealt with that day. Since then, my speeds are a consi ...

I have been with Plus.net for the last four years, but I have now decided to switch, despite all the hassle this will cause me. Technically they have been reasonably proficient over this time, dealing with issues with their network fairly quickly and generally providing a fairly reliable service. I've probably temporarily lost access to the Internet, to webmail and various other things several (perhaps up to half a dozen) times a year, but not usually for long. Recently, however, Plus.net was ha ...
