My email service got taken over by them years ago but last year the service has occasionally been impossible slow to use. Last two months has been atrocious; having to sit staring for 5 mins just to see if an email gets sent or gets dumped so I need to type it again. I have two properties, A and B. Property A is with Virgin and B is with Plusnet (PN) set up by my lodger few years ago, in this name. To ease accounting, I decided to change both properties over to Plusnet under my name to ease management and accounting. What a BIG mistake! I'm astonished to see that Plusnet only have 2 stars here. They have been fantastic for me from right before I signed up to present. They managed to change my allocated phone number with them to the one I wanted, they answer the phone in no time, they speak and understand English, (not a foreign call centre for a welcome change), they gave me an unbelievably good deal and their website works well, although I'm only there once in a blue moon. Plusnet make a big thing of their customer service, and I've certainly encountered worse in the phone/broadband sector, but they do seem to have got worse over the past year or so. Annoyingly, they have got rid of their web form, which was a handy way to report non-urgent issues at your convenience, and the queues when you phone them seem to be getting a lot longer, maybe because more people now have to call them for that reason. These pathological liars are a next level rip off. After being a loyal customer for 2 years, they hit you with a charge to stop - despite over a months notice and telling you there will be NO charges. The radio advert 'Plusnet - we'll do you proud!' makes me laugh out loud - as the only thing they'll do your bank account over!! Just signed up to plusnet(PN) mobile and the price is good. When I asked to port my old number nobody told me they were having problems.I was expecting the porting process to take 1 to 2 days but what happened is that my old network has disconnected my number and more than 24 hours later PN still have not ported my number. Believing all you see on TV I decided after 20 years with BT to change ISP.That was ten days ago and since installing Plus Net B/B + Phone unlimited service can not say that I have had anything like an email service from the. I left the nightmare that is TalkTalk to come to PlusNet due to their glowing reviews on line. I had nothing but problems with them from the start. They messed up our start up date and when the date came to go live, they were completely incompetent and failed leaving us without phone and broadband for over 2 weeks (we live in a small village with no transport so massively rely on an internet connection). I paid for fibre optic but their download was only 17mb. I have just given up after being on hold for 2 hours. I have previously phoned and asked to move the router, change channels and check downloads without success. 12 months ago within minutes I could speak to a person in technical support. Advise do not join plusnet around an hour to phone and be answered, so often in the mornings broadband appears to be switched off, the advisors just tell you such a load of rubbish blaming something wrong at your end so if you want an engineer it will cost you and here is the threat, £65, and then it takes about 5 days for that engineer to come after all the lies told you and you put the phone down the broadband comes on as if by magic, believe this you can find better even if it is a quid or… Read Full Review

I left Talk Talk due to dreadful service and was advised that Plus Net heralded "Good Yorkshire values". What utter rubbish! When I joined I was told that a reuter would be on its way a few days before we commence your service so that we could effect a seamless transision between leaving your old one and starting with us. We took up plusnet for some strange reason Speeds have fluctuated randomly, at times reducing to a crawl with no real reason at our end (off peak times, 1x device connected etc..) This is the worst provider I have had. The signal is so poor that it doesn't go 15 ft to the front room with the door open without cutting out every few minutes. I have been through all the ways to check what the problem is but it is the cheap, poor quality router that I believe is the issue. PlusNet is the worst internet provider I have ever had. On switching addresses they charged me more and took 6 weeks for them to reconnect. Numerous phone calls whereby people are polite but do not action what they say. Once you finally get internet, it is very slow, often disconnecting itself and then reconnecting again, meaning you lose service frequently. Firstly, this company's service is appalling. When you phone you wait ages to get through. When you eventually get through the staff do not really listen to your problem.
