Good Points: None in all honesty.

General comments: My experience with this company was bad I felt. I do not recommend Plus Net. I am also still receiving huge amounts of unsolicited spam mail on an almost daily basis. I did a lot of research before choosing them and chose them because they seemed the cheapest. In fact they are not the cheapest in my experience. Innumerable really for me! Took ten days to actually connect following up to three hours (no exaggeration) per night trying to communicate with the technical dept. To no avail. Techies kept repeating themselves and not dealing with the actual problem I feel. I wasted literally hours each night with them going over the same thing again and again! Ended up it was a faulty router which they had to replace. Customer services were unhelpful I feel, when it was their own team continually misinforming me. During initial telephone calls requesting information I was completely misled because I TOLD them that I only wanted 2 months connection and was informed that they offered a month to month rental with no surcharges. They were fully aware from the onset that i would only be there two months and yet continually omitted to inform me that I would be charged two additional fees of £29.99 for router plus £40.00 disconnection fee1 So ultimately for the grand total of 21 days connection, I was charged £29.98 + £6.00 + £29.99 + £40.00. (Not mentioning the hours of calltime I wasted!) = £105.97 grand total! When the problems with connection were finally solved, I found that connection was very often broken and slow. Customer services were unhelpful I felt and I waited a loooong time for someone to actually answer my call. When they do, they can be either unhelpful, or on rare occasions they can actually be vaguely efficient.

I've been with PlusNet for five months and seen my speeds drop from over 2.5Mb to consistently below 1Mb, although I'm paying for up to 8Mb - BT tell me my line can support 4.5Mb.PlusNet now tell me that BT, their owner's, have set my connection speed at 1Mb "to make my connection more stable" - strange as I was previously getting 2.8Mb with Tiscali. As soon as my 12 months is up, so that I don't have to "cough-up" £50 for a router I apparently didn't need, I'm switching ISPs. ...

Don't understand why overall rating for Plus Net is so poor. Could be because only disgruntled users write in. Have only been a Plusnet 'broadband only' user since May 08 but can't fault service, I left Orange/Wanadoo in disgust. My granddaughter also satisfied Plusnetter.

I have been with plusnet for three years and am now definitely leaving. The quality of service has declined as have problems getting customer service. My line repeatedly dropped connection and now I have been without broadband for 72 hours. They are 'looking into it'. Nowhere near as good as they used to be. I previously used zen and may return to them... or bethere?

I've signed for broadband with Plus Net, and now realising just how terrible BT are I have also switched my home phone service to them as well. Very quick customer service (unlike BT), very simple and fast. Great online system to view all account information, very good provider. Recommended.

Been with them for nearly 3 years now. Service on the whole was very good, with little down time... They were very good, but have been slowly getting worse.. which may be due to me being migrated to the Tiscali LLU. This constant moving of the goal posts, from a service I originally signed up for, and stil pay ( £22 pm) means I will now be migrating my broadband away from them.

Exactly what I need. Started with E7even (lost loads of money, but they have gone now... I hope!), Pipex were very good, but Plusnet have delivered what they said they would. Fully up front! Excellent! Totally recommmend!

I would just like to say that the customer support I have been recieving has been up untill last week very good indeed. However, The last 2 calls I have had have ended up in much frustration from my end. Seems like Im talking to a computer. I am a long standing customer now, over 5 years, but no-one seems to care!. I accidently went over my quota, first time, never even knew I had one, and there is absolulty nothing I can do about it. I desperately need internet from home, but I have to now wait ...

We've used Plusnet for several years now without any real problems. We use ADSL broadband and use Outlook for email. A couple of years ago we moved house and brought them with us. This was the only frustrating time, because we had to ring them up to arrange the transfer and it took ages to get through to them. Well recommend Plus Net.com

Been with Force 9 for years and years and then they migrated to plusnet and now they are BT. They say they are not BT and operated independent but they admit to being owned by them! If you want a fast constant internet service then they are the ones to go for!

Very helpful when signing up, but then it all went downhill very rapidly for me I believe. In my case, my account was transferred from my previous provider Before they sent my hardware out to me. This of course left me with no internet connection for days, and it took several phone calls before it was sent out to me. If that wasn't bad enough, when I installed the modem etc. it wouldn't achieve a connection using USB or Ethernet. The first evening I spent 3hours and 3 phon ...

So far I'd have to say, after being on Broadband for 5+ years, the early indications are that Virgin have been taking my £17.99 per month for a service less efficient than the dial up I left to join them. Also, since Christmas 2007 I've written letters of complaint to their tech boys four times and had no response to any of them. It's now March 31st 2008, and even when I rang them to get a migration code 10 days ago, not one word of apology or promise to rectify their poor performance. Pl ...

After the nightmare of nightmares with TISCALI (see my review) I found this company, who are totally professional, easy to access, and quick to respond - I would certainly recommend them. No 0877 tel numbers, (after the initial freephone number to get your business ) and no call centres. Excellent

Basically if you just want to check email, browse a few websites and maybe update your anti-virus then plus net might be ok for you (so long as you never have a problem), but if you take your internetting seriously then plus net is one of the last places you should be looking. I rarely see speeds of more than 100-150k, and most of the time it's nearer 30k! (Equivelant to a 512k connection - broadband?). My line is (and has been proved to be) capable of a real world speed of around 650k, and sync ...

Plus Net are very very good. You dont win awards by been mediocre. Dont choose the cheaper options just because they are cheap, you get what you pay for. Dont be inticed by unlimited broadband and offers of unrealistic speeds. Plus net hold nothing back from the customer, their business is totally transparent. No other company operates in this way and I like it.

Once connected they sent all emails to my old provider even though they have been told I am with Plus net. Very strange. very difficult to get help by telephone as always a long wait unless you wait until the early hours. Overall not impressed and would not suggest a move to plus net.
