I left Talk Talk due to dreadful service and was advised that Plus Net heralded "Good Yorkshire values". What utter rubbish! When I joined I was told that a reuter would be on its way a few days before we commence your service so that we could effect a seamless transision between leaving your old one and starting with us. Someone forgot to pass this on - although no one would admit to it - and as a result, we found ourselves without a reuter and had to wait nigh on a week to have a telephone… Read Full Review

“unreliable connection”

We took up plusnet for some strange reason Speeds have fluctuated randomly, at times reducing to a crawl with no real reason at our end (off peak times, 1x device connected etc..) “WiFi signal can't get through a paper bag”

This is the worst provider I have had. The signal is so poor that it doesn't go 15 ft to the front room with the door open without cutting out every few minutes. I have been through all the ways to check what the problem is but it is the cheap, poor quality router that I believe is the issue. I pay more than £38 a month for a signal I only get consistently in the hall. Great. Customer Services are polite but steadfast in their denial of any responsibility. PlusNet is the worst internet provider I have ever had. On switching addresses they charged me more and took 6 weeks for them to reconnect. Numerous phone calls whereby people are polite but do not action what they say. Once you finally get internet, it is very slow, often disconnecting itself and then reconnecting again, meaning you lose service frequently. Firstly, this company's service is appalling. When you phone you wait ages to get through. When you eventually get through the staff do not really listen to your problem. I have contacted them on two occasions and each time feel I have been fobbed off. On the first occasion I contacted because Plusnet had cut off my services on the day my payment was due. I'm with a supplier who helped me set everything up properly and give proper service. Plusnet just felt a bit rubbish in comparison. I feel like they were bad because of how cheap they make everything. I heard an advert for their free broadband last week and all the T&Cs talked about traffic management etc - so i got what I paid for. It seems the only way to get help from Plus net is by telephone as they do not give out their E Mail address. The telephone service is very poor as most of the time you have to wait 30 minutes or more to speak to any one. My broad band is only half the speed of my sons who is with BT. I was promised installation on 11th of April, I was then told it would be postponed for a week. If they had of told me that from the outset there is a good chance I would not have placed the order. Not a good way to start a relationship by kid selling a product. They refused to compensate me for the time or the inconvience, the only complaints procedure they have is online which is no good if you have not got internet. Changed to plusnet because it sounded like a great deal, £20 a month as opposed to £50 with my existing supplier plus a £50 cashback. Although I was told that the change over from my previous supplier would be seamless that was not the case. After a call to tell PlusNet i'm moving home in 5 days, not a decision me or my partner want but we do need to. As expected, we cannot get fibre optic in the new area. I was offered a low 1-1.5mg speed at the new address for £1 less than what im paying for fibre optic. of course, im not going to continue paying over the odds for next to no internet. at this point I was told I can cancel the whole contract for £210.45 and start again as a new customer and get the next 18 months for free. fed… Read Full Review

“Awful Customer Service ”

Terrible company to have to deal with. I've had no working phone for 9 weeks now. I've lost count how many times I've tried to contact them to resolve. The website is really difficult to report a fault to them and the chat online service is robotic and cuts off. Normally 30 minutes wait to get through to someone on the phone, who then does nothing to sort the issue and has no record of previous calls. 18 month service contract and router fails exactly 13 months into contract. was told the router is out of contract and was only for 12 months. Plusnet said an engineer was coming and when the router was diagnosed as the problem I rang them to cancel the engineer and they said that no engineer had been arranged. Only for self diagnosing the router issue I would have waited days for an engineer who was never coming. Paying for a service which is not fit for purpose. Tempted away by cheaper post office broadband (using talk talk network) and the contention ratio every evening was hopeless as was customer service. “Poor Service Diabolic Accounts”

I waited 32 minutes for the operator and another 25 minutes to reach the correct department. 

On another occasion received out of the blue email saying my direct debit isn't working. Plusnet couldn't say why the direct debit is not working so they reset the direct debit. 

Unfortunately Plusnet sent the email to me too late for next invoice date. No, couldn't pay in advance must pay on invoice date and have 24 hours, no later or in default so affects credit rating.

Switched over from BT six months ago. The switch happened seamlessly, but a week or two later the line died. A quick call to Plusnet brought a BT engineer a few days later and a weather worn junction box was found to be the cause.
