“No routers, no service, now they threaten debt collectors”

Written on: 26/06/2014

I entered into a broadband only contract with PLUSNET in March 2014. I am away from home a lot and was impressed with the Which magazine recommendation as well as the statement that their routers are small enough to go through a letterbox Three months later, the two routers which they claimed to have sent me had never arrived, and all my requests to cancel my account and give me a refund were ignored. So in June 2014 I cancelled my direct debit I have told them that they are in breach of… Read Full Review

“Plusnet - not exactly doing you proud”

Written on: 25/04/2014 by dgtazzman (2 reviews written)

We've been with Plusnet for a year now and at first, everything was fine. We did have some occasions where the connection dropped, but this was mostly brief and it would come back without issue. Last month, our internet dropped and wasn't back up after a few hours, so rang Plusnet. I was on hold for over 30 minutes before getting through to somebody. They ran some tests, confirmed the problem was at their end and that we should be back up in an hour and he'd call me back to confirm. After 2… Read Full Review

Such a shame that this company was one of the better ones this time last year but has now fallen the way of some of the others that have grown too fast and lost their customer focus on the way. I cannot fault the customer service staff in the call centre (they are polite and really do try to help) but 2 complaints about loss of phone service and sudden drop in broadband speed have met with 'must be a problem your end' with little else in the way of possible solutions (I suspect they are given this as a corporate mantra). The phone problem was later found to be a 'BT' issue a week later. The broadband problem is a supposed mystery... although the solution of buying another PlusNet router and extending the contract by another 18 months will definitely not be my chosen option.

“Burn £5 notes”

Written on: 11/04/2014 by Fletcher224 (1 review written)

I've been with Plusnet for many years after a friend recommended them (he's since switch to another ISP). I vowed that I would stay with them after my last contract expired but when we moved house Plusnet threatened us with having to pay a reconnection charge if we switched to another provider (I don't know if this is correct but with so much to do with moving house, I really didn't have time to check). Plusnet offered a reduced monthly fee (£4.99) if we stayed with them. Not only did they… Read Full Review

“Still waiting for text to my mobile phone.”

Written on: 21/03/2014 by MaryjaneStokes (1 review written)

Received a text a week ago on my mobile phone, to say that I had to wait for a text after midnight on the 18th of March, before connecting up my router. Still waiting for the text even though it is the 21st of March. On the 2oth of March after 8am I connected up the router without authorization from Plusnet and it seems to be working. I contacted Plusnet via email on the 20th and still have had no reply to the complaint I had that I received no text. No reply after 24 hours. Tried ringing but… Read Full Review

“BRILLIANT!!”

Written on: 11/02/2014 by JosieBevan (1 review written)

I've been with plus net for over a year and i've been nothing but happy! When i first signed up I stupidy clicked the wrong box 'duh!', signing up for a 10GB allowance not the unlimited, and I didnt realise untill 2 weeks later what I'd done. However customer service was fantastic and they were more than happy to change it over, even using the January Sale prices for the unlimed even though the sale had ended when I'd noticed my mistake. I did have problems getting the line installed, 1st was… Read Full Review

“No Router - No Broadband !”

Written on: 19/01/2014

They forgot to send out our Router, so when they switched our broadband over we were without service until the new router arrived. Existing BT router cant be reconfigured and Customer service quoted 4-5 days to get our new one to us. They suggested we go and buy another router if we wanted service faster than that, couldn't live without service so that is what we did. A terrible start with a new customer… Read Full Review

“Very good service provider”

Written on: 17/01/2014 by russella0 (3 reviews written)

I recently switched to Plus.Net after Virgin kept bumping their prices up. We also switched our phone line to Plus.Net as well. Everything went fine, the standard of the broadband connection is as good as with Virgin and the switch over happened without any pain - which was beyond my expectations (both the broadband and the phone). I was impressed that I got emails and texts about switching dates and they were all adhered too. My only complaint would be that we've had 2 evenings where the… Read Full Review

“Plusnet - great company!”

Written on: 13/01/2014 by fireboxchaser (5 reviews written)

I joined PlusNet after leaving the atrocious BT. I have been treated as a valued customer, kept informed every step of the way whilst my broadband and phone were being changed over and also the charges are very reasonable. Should you have the need to contact customer services, they are helpful and courteous. I have no problem at all in recommending them to anyone. Well done PlusNet!!… Read Full Review

“plusnet broadband rating”

Written on: 09/01/2014

I am disappointed with my broadband service provided by PlusNet. Having been subscribed for over a month now I am angry that I was oversold the service and find the speed to be slow. I raised the speed issue with them and after a week I got a response from their technical team to say that they had performed all their tests and everything was fine with no faults and although by download speed is between 8mbps-10mbps, they told me this was acceptable and blamed BT for the network. I found out… Read Full Review

I've been with Plusnet for the past year and haven't had a single problem. The only time I've ever had to call them is just now to renew my package! 100% reliable broadband, not had one single issue in 12 months. And cheap as chips too. Friendly and helpful staff. “Poor Customer Service”

Written on: 17/12/2013 by Mrpcoleman (2 reviews written)

I have been having a problem with my broadband intermittently failing and the Broadband speed being very slow. The only way to get through to PlusNet is over the phone, no email access, on each occasion I have tried to contact them they warn of 30 minute wait to speak to an advisor, that is about the only correct information they give. One time I waited 30 minutes and then got cut off and had to wait another 30 minutes. Our neighbours using other suppliers have no problem so I decided to… Read Full Review

“57 minutes on hold then told to ring back tomorrow!!!”

Written on: 15/12/2013

Just rang Customer services, put on hold for 57 minutes then when I asked a simple question about upgrading then told to ring back tomorrow. Well I'm afraid this customer is taking his custom elsewhere, so if anyone out there is thinking about joining them always look at the reviews. I didn't but now wished that I did. Obviously your choice but reviews are not often wrong!!!!! … Read Full Review

Well I did phone back, on hold for 20 minutes. Good news is I am now going to another provider and had roughly £30 love2shop voucher, 4500 nectar points and a free free view recorder / catch-up box and only a 12 month contract. Roll on 2nd Jan when I move :)

“Do not use”

Written on: 25/09/2013

Had Plusnet for a good few years until internet kept going down not for the odd day but for up to a week and even 2 weeks at one point. I use the internet for occasional days that I work at home (very occasional and only use e-mail) I told Plusnet this and I was forced to subscribe to business broadband.. Fair enough I thought, until the first bill came through which was twice the price of home broadband. I was paying nearly £50 per month for phone and broadband. No offer of compensation for… Read Full Review
