  Bad Points: It doesn't play music!!!!!!!!!!!!

  
  

  General comments: The Sony NW-E405 is nice and compact. I keep getting "format error" message for any song I try to play on this mp3 player. Very frustrated.

  Think twice before you purchase!! I had over 200 songs on my computer - first the software doesn't work witrh Vista - and second it won't play ANY of my MP3 songs - keep getting error messages... and its an MP3 player??? I have a $10 el chepo player however from KMart which plays everything? So much for Sony!!!

  This little Sony NWE-405 player is compact, looks good, has great sound quality, plays MP3s and ATRAC files very well. Start-up time is very quick compared to any other players. Menu navigation is easy to scroll through. As long as you don't need extra features like voice recording and FM tuner, this player is the best!!!

  The Sony NWE-405 MP3 player has nice text, it is easy to handle, and it has a nice display. It has a modern and simple design, and it is a good size. It has a lot of options, and also comes with a good program for the computer. A lot of songs can be fitted onto it because the computer program that comes with it compresses the files. It also charges quickly.

  The Sony NWE-405 MP3 player does not read all MP3 files (apparently the Sonic Stage software converts all files into the Atrac format, but for some files it does not work); I got the "cannot play" message for many of the MP3 files that I had and could read on my computer. When I called tech support, they told me that that's just the way it is. well, that's just NOT why I decided to buy an MP3 player! I am returning it tomorrow!!
