Good Points: You can download comic strips, jokes and fiction onto your phone, as well as wallpapers. Lots of free stuff available.

Bad Points: Not so many wallpapers and ringtones as other sites, as this isn't the main focus of the Gobstopped site.

General comments: I first found out about Gobstopped when I was searching on Google for stuff about Big Brother. Gobstopped had some cool wallpapers which were cartoons of the BB6 contestants.

This site is mainly aimed at people who want entertainment from their mobile. I decided to give it a try one day when I was going out after work, as I didn't want to carry a book to read on the train like I normally do.

To start, you text the word GOB to 83238. I was a bit concerned about the cost of this, but it has been charged at my standard rate of 10p. You then get back a free text with a link to the Gobstopped site. I was able to use this free of charge, as my contract with Vodafone gives me unlimited WAP browsing.

I found the site a little confusing at first, but OK once I got the hang of it. Finding the free stuff was easy enough, as there's an area marked 'The Free Zone' near the top of the screen. Buying other stuff was a bit more complicated, with various text messages coming through, but all of them were free, and it worked fine in the end. Again, you get used to it after a couple of goes.

Costs for the paid downloads were quite reasonable: 50p for one item, £4.50 for a package of 14.

I liked the cartoons - I recommend WTF. In the fiction section I enjoyed Cat Talk.

Overall, I think Gobstopped is a good idea, and I'll definitely be using it again. It seems to be quite new, and I've noticed they've added a lot more stuff since my first visit a couple of weeks ago, so I would definitely recommend giving it a try.
