“Paint and Costumer service team”

Written on: 28/09/2015 by 187Kearney (1 review written)

I purchased two tins of Paint from Laura Ashley Pale Dove Grey only to find two different shades! Unfortunately my painters have put the roller on top of the tiny little batch code number which is on the tin lid, and to cut a long story short as I cannot show proof of the batch numbers being the same despite buying them from Laura Ashley on the same day (the last two tins) customer service will do nothing about it. Why I am so annoyed is that it has taken from September 10th with my initial… Read Full Review

“Worst paint ever”

Written on: 27/09/2015 by Roslyn88 (1 review written)

Bought this paint as daughter liked the colour worst mistake ever made when comes to paint... It all bubbled when applying & paint came off when tryin to apply with brush... Have used loads of makes of paint & never had this problem... Defo not worth the money have had a much better finish in cheaper paints.. Cant believe they are actually selling this paint as totally not worth the money… Read Full Review

“Terrible paint”

Written on: 04/09/2015 by Winterbourne (1 review written)

I also wish I'd read the reviews before buying Laura Ashley Pale Cranberry paint. It was horrible to use & after 4 coats you could still see brush marks & it was very patchy. We went out & bought Dulux Once in Roasted Red which is a million times better & only needed one coat. I bought two pots of Dulux for the same price as one tin of Laura Ashley. Avoid buying this awful paint… Read Full Review

“worst paint I've ever used”

Written on: 29/08/2015 by Headhq223 (1 review written)

Quite simply the worst paint I've ever used. Admittedly the colour was very nice, it took six coats to get a solid cover. Patchy, streaky, and very expensive. It took two tins to finish a feature wall. Really poor. Do yourself a favour and don't buy it. If you cannot find a colour you like more, buy a tester, paint a piece of paper six times and take to a place that has dulux magic eye system, it will cut paint cost and time in half… Read Full Review

“Patchy despite several attempts”

Written on: 26/08/2015 by Karam145 (1 review written)

We tried various painting methods including diluting it a little. But whether diluted or undiluted the end result is not at all smooth. We even tried using a clean brush every 20 minutes. The quality is appalling and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Looking front on, the finish is acceptable, but stand a little to the side and you can see every occasion where the brush has been lifted off the wall. We've never had this problem with any other paint previously… Read Full Review

“Rubbish”

Written on: 14/08/2015

I purchased two tins of Sapphire Blue. Applied first tin (as someone said, very, very patchy). Then I opened the second tin and started to touch up the patches. IT IS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SHADE! The new tin is several degrees darker than the original. On phoning LA I was told the batch numbers have to be checked to ensure matching. I can appreciate there may be a slight variation but this is extreme and I have never, ever had this problem with other paints. I will never buy LA paint again. I… Read Full Review

“DO NOT BUY PAINT FROM DIY STORES IT'S NOT THE SAME ”

Written on: 18/07/2015 by PAINTERMAN1 (1 review written)

the problem arises when people buy laura ashley , crown , dulux , etc from diy stores. the paint is not the same as your decorator buys from the trade counter. this is because it is custom mixed with the appropriate base coat for the wall / surface type in your home. the paint is of much higher specification than you can buy in the diy store. you would be better buying your paint from a small independent retail supplier who mixes the paint for you, be it dulux crown etc if you're doing the… Read Full Review

“Laura Ashley Duck Egg Paint - rubbish”

Written on: 09/07/2015

I bought a load of Laura Ashley 'Duck Egg' towels & thought I'd freshen up a mirror frame in the bathroom by painting it with Laura Ashley Duck Egg paint. Horrible to apply, even with a top quality 'Purdy' brush & 3 coats later I find it's nothing like the colour of the towels! All that wasted effort. I'm off to Dulux now.... Really cross!… Read Full Review

“Patchy finish - impossible to get rid of lines”

Written on: 05/05/2015 by Keyon170 (1 review written)

Bought Grape Matt Laura Ashley emulsion from Homebase. After two coats the result is very patchy. Impossible to blend in brushed edges with roller. Tried different rollers and brushes but same result - awful. Trying to over paint with a mixed Dulux paint of the same colour (they can now match the exact colour by scanning the Laura Ashley paint tin - briliant!). It is still difficult to paint over with the Dulux, the dried Laura Ashley paint seems to stick to the brush! Awful, will never… Read Full Review

“Rubbish”

Written on: 07/04/2015 by Morsekd213 (1 review written)

Wish I'd looked on here before buying Laura Ashley paint. Got mine in Homebase, maybe it's not the same quality as the paint sold in Laura Ashley stores. we are not novice decorators, my husband is tearing his hair out trying to apply this product to well prepared white undercoated walls. A previous contributor advises against whining, but the whole point of sites like this is to share experience of the product, good or bad. It seems that most of that experience, in this case, is bad!… Read Full Review

“Patchy Rubbish!”

Written on: 03/04/2015 by McLeodzf307 (1 review written)

We bought the amethyst paint to match our furnishings. My husband painted a feature wall in 2 coats and it dried patchy! After blaming him in his terrible paint skills we then had a professional decorator re paint it and it's dried exactly the same. Wouldn't recommend this product to anybody, it's overpriced rubbish!… Read Full Review

“Patchy, patchy, patchy!”

Written on: 16/03/2015

Like other reviewers I'm an experienced home decorator. I'm using pale sable (bought from the Laura Ashley shop-in-shop at homebase), applying by brush using a quality brush. Matching up with the glorious Mr Jones wallpaper. The first coat looked great (covering new lining paper almost the same colour as the paint). Second coat - woah! Very, very patchy. Third coat - better, but when the sun hits the wall it's still patchy. What's going on? I've tried applying generously, and skimpily -… Read Full Review

“Laura Ashley paint is great!”

Written on: 23/02/2015

My whole house is covered in Laura Ashley paint and it is lovely. If there had been a problem I am sure Laura Ashley would have done something to correct the error. I know a friend had a problem with LA wallpaper about 20 odd years ago and they paid for new paper and the decorator to put it up again, so, don't whine on here get them to put the problem right, if you get a problem, which from my experience you won't… Read Full Review

“Really awful, patchy paint”

Written on: 02/12/2014 by Roberts295 (1 review written)

Lovely colour (french grey) and matches some LA wallpaper but my goodness this is a terrible product. In common with previous reviewers this dried in patches and has proved impossible to rectify three more coats later. Will be getting a colour match in Dulux to rectify the problem. Don't buy this stuff… Read Full Review

“A sample tin was enough to put me off!”

Written on: 06/11/2014 by Trippe55 (1 review written)

The colour is supposedly Pale Dove Grey - but is in fact a creamy yellow. I'm wondering if this is just the paint base and they forgot to add the 'grey,' especially since the pot is only half full. Even on my little test patch the quality was awful with 3 coats. It's a no from me!… Read Full Review

“Laura Ashley Matt Emulsion”

Written on: 13/09/2014

I have been decorating on and off for over forty years using a variety of paint brands and have never had a problem. The Pale French Grey we used to decorate our bedroom is truly awful. We're on the fourth coat and can't get rid of the patches and different tones. The finish varies between brush applied, i.e. around the edges, and roller applied. I've even tried doing the whole lot with a brush and still ended up with patches. Would definitely not recommend or use again. Looks like I'm going to… Read Full Review

“RUBBISH - NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE PAINT”

Written on: 29/08/2014 by HelenaDoherty23 (1 review written)

Having purchased Pale French Grey direct from Laura Ashley, after our experienced painter followed guidance procedures on tin/s, the paint proved to be defective and of extremely poor quality, not covering walls correctly. After complaining to Laura Ashley customer services, their attitude was very poor and confirmed there was nothing wrong with their paint. It has cost us dearly by having to buy more paint by different manufacturer to cover walls correctly and more cost to get painter to… Read Full Review

I had the same problem with Laura Ashley Pale Seaspray paint. I contacted customer services who asked for photos of evidence, receipt and batch number to be provided. I sent everything they requested apart from the batch number as we did not keep the empty tin in the house. They said that they couldn't do anything without the batch code from the paint tin as they couldn't test the sample. My pictures clearly show that 2 coats left patchy walls. I am going to take it further, I am not going to give up. As you said the customer services is rubbish.
I also purchased Dulux paint and one coat resolved my problem.

I'm sorry to hear you have experienced the same.
I supplied batch number and photo's..
This is Laura Ashley's response to their paint which is not fit for purpose:

Many thanks for your email, I am unable to offer you the refund as requested as we have completed the stringent tests as previously advised and we have found no problems with the batch numbers and stand by our decision that the complaint is not justified due to the results from the QC department.

They did not recognise their product is faulty.

I wish you luck!
