    Good Points: Good when threatened.

Bad Points: Make things as difficult as possible

General comments: I was having trouble cancelling my Swiftcover policy, so I wrote an e-mail to the complaints dept, signalling that I would take the matter to the FSA if it wasn't fixed. They phoned me within 3 minutes, gave me some story about people cancelling their policies in error way back when, and cancelled my policy straight away. Very friendly and 'swift', but I'm still not happy about having to mess around so much trying to cancel.

Swiftcover ignore complaints, they make you ring a 10p a minute phone line and then say they can't deal with the complaint. They subcontract recovery to a company with non-qualified mechanics who subsequently refuse recovery and leave you at the side of the road for hours on end (in the meantime you're forced to ring the expensive 0870 number)

Reported damage to car last Monday - took until Friday to finally get Claim Number from them! Swiftcover Car Insurance promised to email it to me last Tuesday, but didn't. I phoned them at least 15 times over the week, got a different person each time and a different excuse why no number could be allocated. All very apologetic but that was no help to me!

As the saying goes, you pay for what you get. Swiftcover being the cheapest quote I have ended up with the worst insurance company and service I could have expected.. Being misfortunate enough to have had my car stolen while at the beach, they refused my claim as obviously I was not a victim of crime and the incident was my own fault!

Uwful service and policy. Signed up to Swiftcover Car Insurance as they were the cheapest on Moneysupermarket , i have 5 years no claims which is dated within 2 years. After managing to get the documents to them after 3 weeks they then decided to tell me you needed to get proof of within 1 year which i didnt have. After being with them only 22 days then stung me for £150 pounds loss and i moved swiftly to Admiral.

Avoid. They have plenty of little tricks up their sleeve. My car was stolen (at knifepoint) and Swiftcover still deducted 2 years from my no claims discount. It wasn't my fault so why should my NCD be affected? When it was time to renew, they automatically deducted the full premium from my bank account, even though I had been paying monthly the previous year. When questioned about this, they said it was their "policy" to do this as my car had been stolen.

Swiftcover are cheap on price but very very poor if you have an accident. I think its worth paying extra for better aftercare than this liability of a company. Wont be using them again.

I have got a CCJ thanks to Swift Car Cover. I had an accident three years ago which was my fault. I gave the other driver my insurance details and when I checked my account online the next week the claim had been added to my account so I knew the driver had contacted Swift. After that I forgot about the whole incident. A year later I recieved a letter from Northampton County Court about a hearing date I had to attend to recover the costs for this incident. I was no longer with Swift Car Cover b ...

Filed a Swiftcover Car Insurance claim online, then they phoned to clarify information. There were loads of things I needed to be 'aware of', but the bottom line was that they wanted me to use their approved repairer, which was 65 miles away (we live in rural Devon). I wasn't happy about that, but it turns out they were terrific. They picked my car up, left a courtesy car and had the work done quickly. Alansway in Ottery St Mary was the garage they used, and they did an excellent job on my Mini C ...

Had an accident (scratch on door), and swiftcover arranged for my car to be taken to local garage. The garage said they could not give me an indication of time it would take to fix until they had seen it. After the car being away for a day and hearing nothing from the garage I called, only to be told that they wouldn't look at the car for another week as they were "too busy" (why take the car then????) and then swift cover would have to give authorisation which would take "a few days". All in al ...

Having paid my Swiftcover Car Insurance premium in full, I then changed my mind and wanted to cancel as I could see I wasn't covered for everything that I wanted to be covered for when I downloaded the schedule and printed it off (yes, my fault you could say) but only 40 minutes after taking the policy out, they still wanted to charge me £25 to cancel. A little unfair I think. I was passed around to three differrent staff members but no-one wanted to help. Their attitude was 'tough'. You ...

Swiftcover Car Insurance is dire. I had an extremely minor accident recently, and was required to give the car to their chosen garage: which is 50 miles away. The garage have been inadequate in the extreme: very slow. They failed to ring me to fix a date when Swiftcover gave them authority "because they are busy" sent someone to drive the car nearly a month later even though they knew the air bag had gone off (virtually the only damage) and it wasn't driveable. Swiftcover then hid behind their ...

Disasterous 'we couldn't care less' service from swiftcover car insurance. When you finally need them (e.g. you have an accident), they refuse to pay out on ANY possible technicality. Don't bother calling them and requesting a call back, you won't get one.

Swiftcover were very slick to accept my money but unfortunately following a small accident in my car, in my opinion they have bent over backwards to make my claim almost unbearable.I found they ignore emails and promise to telephone me back but of course they dont and managers always seem to be either busy or unavailable. I have been given at least 3 different reasons why my claim is invalid, none of which are applicable in my case but it is like hitting your head against a brick wall.I will pro ...

I'm impressed with Swiftcover! I have dealt with several insurance companies over the years and swiftcover were the easiest and most straightforward of the lot. Both family cars are now with swiftcover. Never had problems printing off my insurance details and using them to tax the car. I now tax online and that is even simpler. Highly recommended. Very quick and efficient. Car was repaired within a couple of weeks and I was kept informed of the situation completely.
