Swift automatically renewed my insurance without informing me. They gave me a premium double that of the quotes I had received, and they also entered me into a 33%APR loan agreement when I usually pay upfront. I did not agree to any of this. I wanted to change to a different provider this year, but thanks to swift I am stuck with an expensive premium I cannot afford and I cannot afford to pay their fee to cancel it either. Unfortunately I'm in the middle of a claim. I have been with swiftcover for 5 years, and of course mainly due to them being cheap to insure with. A drunk driver has totalled my car, and I have been without a car for 5 days already. Service is very slow and frustrating, with plenty of information on what they can't do for you and little positive updates. I'm fully comp, but feel like its means little to them. Like its been mentioned already...you get what you pay for...which clearly isn't much! (read more)

Always came out cheapest on comparison sites and enjoyed having everything available online. However, when my wife was involved in an accident that wasn't her fault, their methods and approach have been obstructive, inconvenient and stressful. Their approved garages are expected to operate at razor thin margins, meaning the likelihood of our car being repaired to anything like the standard demanded by the manufacturer is somewhere between unlikely and not-a-chance. An update to the original issue, we contacted the financial ombudsmen and lodged a complaint and low and behold the customer services team called my other half and were very polite. They did answer a couple of our questions and we did provide them with even more information to prove that our car was not the one in the accident. The outcome is that my other Hal received an email to say that the claim was not being pursued, although the reason for it being dropped is somewhat comical.... The claim has been dropped as someone must have written the number plate down wrong!!! All in all it is over and I'm thankful, but was an absolute joke to the end.

Terrible company. If you have a policy with them tell them that you don't want to renew now and get a policy with somebody else when your insurance expires. I have been charged £66 for cancelling insurance that I did not want. When I got notice I arranged cover through a different insurer but they renewed it automatically. If I cancelled before I would pay nothing, I was not informed that there would be a cancellation charge then the charge increased to £66. I payed this over the phone and... (read more)

i was hit by a swiftcover policy holder - my claim for injury has been going on for nearly 6 months - they use bullyiny and delaying tatics to wear you down into accepting very low offers. I wanted to resolve the dispute quickly but they are digging their heels in even though i have told them other companies have advised me that Swiftcover are taking the "mick" with their low offers- Swift will not move they would rahter i go to another company and pay out more money then discuss my claim... So they have these snazzy adverts, Iggy Pop says he uses them- they have dogs in suits... Looks like wonderland, they must be good.... Right? Dead wrong. I will open this by saying that I have dealt with British Gas, Orange, O2, BT - all titans in the game of treating their customers like filth. But Swiftcover are the world heavyweight champions of treating their customers poorly. Their service should be award winning, in the same way I imagine that Saddam would have said that his Secret... Overall rating - TERRIBLE !! My wife had the misfortune to be hit twice in the last month - both clearly non fault claims. All claims appear to be farmed out by Swiftcover to a 3rd party handling company. Swiftcover immediately blamed my wife in both instances without assessing or asking for the full facts. In the 2nd accident a young driver crossed into her lane at high speed after losing control round a corner in a two lane one way system, hitting her from behind. Their claim line got all... My daughter was violently attacked, pinned to the ground and had her car keys and my car stolen. The police told us that this was an organised gang that were stealing cars to sell. The police caught the thieves in possession of the car and prosecuted them. The car returned with a fair bit of damage (at least one of the gang had been livin in it!). Swift(or should that be incredibly slow) Cover authorised the repairs. They used a rag-bag of different repairers and it took over 9 months... (read more)

Although Swiftcover appear to have made a positive response below they actually have done nothing at all and didn't even bother to reply when I wrote to them as requested - it seems their 'customer avoidance' policy stretches to their press office as well as their claims department. . .

Impossible to resolve a problem with Swift without very long and protracted e-mail conversations. Replies it seems are designed to discourage you. Not worth ANY amount you may save in premiums. (read more)

After I was hit by an articulated lorry while I was stopped at red lights. I spent a year fighting to get it sorted out. Swift cover didn't help in anyway, quite the reverse THEY MADE OUT I WAS IN THE WRONG! It went right up until the day before court, then faced with all my clear evidence the other party dropped their claim! (read more)

In late July 2012 I received an email from Swiftcover stating that I had been in a car accident in September 201. This was news to me, so I contacted them to find out what was happening. Apparently they had CCTV footage of me getting close to a car in a car park, but the footage was fairly inconclusive and didn’t show me actually touching the car. Swiftcover had been contacted by a firm of solicitors in June 2012 seeking damages, as apparently I had damaged the third party... (read more)

After a small accident, which involved a car reversing into my bumper, I contacted Swiftcover's claims department. I decided not to continue with the claim as, unbelievably, the 3rd party denied responsibility and cost of repair was c.£100. However, given that I contacted Swiftcover, it is registered as an accident, at which point I can only assume that Swiftciver then sold this information - over a year later I am still receiving annoying calls from lawyers about my accident in which I...
