  Good Points: Good gameplay
  Lots of cars
  Good sound track
  Never get tired of it

  Bad Points: Restricted to racing only
  Can't roam city
  Handling characteristics aren't realistic, but then again it's a game

  
  

  General comments: I bought this game about a year ago, and I still play on it every now and again.
  
  It's great fun! You can drive many cars from the worlds most popular car manufacturers; for example VW, Toyota, Nissan, Honda and Acura etc. There are about 20 in total, so you're spoilt for choice.
  
  There's a good selection of tracks to race on; all varying, with different speeds and layouts.
  
  Great selection of soundtrack; music from all genres - rock, rap and hip hop. The music comes from a good few popular artists like T.I Lil Jon and The Eastside Boys.
  
  There are different types of races - circuit, sprint and drag, all of which are great fun!
  
  You can modify the performance parts of your car, and also the looks of your car; like alloys, paint styles and vinyls. There are so many combinations, you'll never make a car look the same!
  
  I do find Need For Speed Underground a bit monotonous after a while - just racing, racing and racing. You can't roam around the city like on the later game, Need For Speed Underground 2.
  
  When racing, I find the handling characteristics unrealistic; being able to turn a corner doing 130mph plus and not rolling or fish tailing your car is a bit unrealistic, but then again it's a game.

  Need For Speed Underground is a very good racing game. It includes customization, drag races, drift races and normal circuit races. This game is a good buy.

  Need for Speed Underground is a very good game, one of the best racing simulators I have played in ages. Not as good as Need For Speed Underground 2 (obviously!) - Good selection of cars and parts.
  
  Could be better if it had the option of free roam like Need For Speed Underground 2!

  Need for Speed Underground - Best racing game I've ever played except Need for Speed Hot Pursuit for PS1. I've had the game for three days and me and my friend haven't stopped playing it since except the few times we played Tony Hawks 4 and GTA Vice City. Classiest car game in the world.

  I've played Need for Speed Underground at my friend's house soo many times, and I also played the computer version. This is a really fun game, you can get your own cars and you get to customize it to your own personal satisfication. I like racing, and everything about this game. This is an awesome game. This is one of my favorite car games ever for the PS2!

  Need for Speed Underground is great! As for being a man's game as my boyfriend always says, I've never heard so much rubbish!! You don't even really have to be into car games as I wasn't but now I'm hooked. It's a great game with great cars to choose from and when you start at the beginning you can unlock allsorts. It does take a while to get used to the controls, but I love the fact that you can use the analogue or the directional arrows.

  I drive around quite a bit and when I see kids in there 500 quid cars with 5000 quids worth of skirting and UV lighting and 16 pipes sticking out the back I often get a mental picture of a male chicken. But then need for speed came along. I hired it then next went and bought it. I get to be a male chicken in the privacy of my own home and smile alot whilst I'm dong it.

  I think Need for Speed Underground is one of the best ever car racing games to come to the ps2. With the great oppertunities to win races and be rewarded with upgrade parts for your car, it makes you even more determined to win. It's a definate favourite game of mine.

  This is one of the best racing games I've ever played, alongside Gran Turismo 3. The Rims, decals, pearl paints, flare kits, man it feels good.
  Kinda hard to stop playing once you get going. One little slip up and you might lose the race. Also look out for the traffic. Punching in that nose really causes an adrenalin rush as you watch the buildings and other cars blurr by.
  This is a must have game. MUST HAVE. I can't wait for part 2 to come out. There will be even more mods available, even ...

  Another great game from EA. And what a great game this type of game has never been done where you are alowed to style the car as much. The only down side would be you can't choose who you race and there is no freerome mode.
