“Horrible tour The worst ever”

1.I have just been on a tour of Europe with TAJ TOURS UK. As a responsible citizen I think I need to inform everybody of a VERY IMPORTANT LESSON LEARNT. DO NOT EVER EVER TRAVEL WITH TAJ TOURS LONDON 2. We were asked to report at our pick up point, which was a BUS STOP in LONDON, at the unearthly hour of 4.30 AM on the first day. The bus arrived at 5 AM, with only the driver. THERE WAS NO TOUR MANAGER. When contacted, he stated he would join us in FRANCE. THE whole day there was NO BREAKFAST NO LUNCH. NO DRINKING WATER. 2. The first day was a long BUS RIDE VIA FERRY ACROSS THE CHANNEL, ACROSS FRANCE TO A HOTEL IN GERMANY AT ABOUT MIDNIGHT. A FULL 20 HOUR CONTINUOUS BUS RIDE. 3. The Microphone was not working so the tour manager could not address the tourists or tell them about the sights as we proceeded on our BUS RIDE ACROSS EUROPE ON THE FIRST DAY. THE TOILET ON THE BUS HAD NO LIGHTS. THE TOUR MANAGER EXPLAINED THAT THE TOILET WAS FOR USE BY INFANTS. PASSENGERS SHOULD "HOLD THEIR PEE", till the next stop. His words. There was ONE baby in the group of 52 travellers from across the world. LUCKY BABY. 4. Numerous passengers were heard complaining. IS THIS A TOUR OR A BUS RIDE MARATHON. 5. Second day. Again there was no commentary by the TOUR MANAGER. No light in the bus toilet. "HOLD YOUR PEE", says the tour manager. 6. Second day. Started at 9.30 AM and we reached the hotel at midnight since the driver lost his way and the tour manager was snoozing in his seat. 15 hour bus marathon. Drove through the BLACK FOREST, without a stop. Drove in to Lucerne, for a photo op in the waterfalls and a lion. Passengers can claim to have DRIVEN through two WORLD FAMOUS tourist spots, ONE IN GERMANY (BLACK FOREST) and one in SWITZERLAND (LUCERNE), without seeing anything. 7. We Spent the night in a hotel in ZURICH from midnight, till early morning next day. THEREFORE, as per TAJ TOURS, we had visited ZURICH. I HAD HAD ENOUGH. THE EUROPE TOUR BY TAJ TOURS WAS A TOTAL DISASTER. I CUT SHORT MY 9 DAY TOUR AND LEFT TAJ TOURS AND THEIR BUS MARATHON AFTER JUST TWO DAYS. LESSON LEARNT. SAY NO TO TAJ TOURS LONDON. NEVER EVER TRAVEL WITH THIS COMPANY.

“Aweful Customer Service - Didn't Even Get On a Tour!”

Yes I'm one of those people that generally only writes a review if things are really great or awful. This is definitely the later and Taj Tours is quite possibly one of the worst run companies I've ever dealt with. I booked family members on a tour with Taj, for which they would have to fly into the UK. We paid the deposit and all was well. 2 months prior to the tour departure we tried to contact the company to pay the balance and were continuously deferred (which should have started to ring alarm bells to be fair). 1 month prior to departure, after continuous calls from us, we were informed that they had cancelled the tour as only a few people had booked. There was no sympathy for the fact people were flying in for the tour. Luckily Star Tours saved the day (which those that travelled would give 5 stars to by the way). In addition, we were promised a refund of our deposit, which 2 months later I am still chasing for. This is made harder by the fact no one answers the phone, and when they do, the responses are full of false promises to return the call the next day. My advice - stay clear of them ps. They get 1 star as I can't submit this with no stars!

“Hotels Poor, Nowhere Near Sites, Lots Of Time Wasted.”

Very Annoying Tour. Went on the 6 Day Alpine Tour. We spent hours travelling between sites and hotels, which was frustrating. To add to that, the food places were also hours away from the venues, which included more time wasted. Sometimes lunch was served after 3pm and dinner after 9pm! Having our 2 young children on the tour going hungry and having no opportunity to purchase food for them because we were always in the middle of nowhere travelling between hotels and food venues, was a very hard task. On average, I can say we only had approximately 1 Hour 30 Mins of walking around in each country because of the shenanigans! This has put me and my family off tours of this type and we will never do it again. Also, the last Hotel we stayed in (Novotel in France) was the worst I've been in. The room we were given had a damp smell in it. When I complained, they changed the room and in the new room, I found a Cockroach on the bed, which I caught on a plastic cup and handed over to the hotel staff advising them their hotel is Filthy!

“Waste of time and money for us”

Customer service is poor. No replies to emails for our questions after they got deposit and money from us. In the tour, they bring you to hotels by 6pm-7pm. Since the hotels are away from city center, what are you going to do in the hotel room by 7pm. Always on the rush..."Chalo Chalo Chalo...." Did not even give 1/2 hr to 1 hr of free time to roam the streets of Rome, Venice, Paris etc on our own, but in hotel by 7pm to do nothing. I would do the tour on my own. Good public transportation in Europe. Trains are excellent. Only thing good I found was the kitchen staff who cooked and served fresh/hot food with smiley faces. Think twice before booking with Taj.

Taj Tours.....DO NOT USE

I am just returning from a 10 day tour of Europe with Taj Tours. This has been the worst experience. I will never recommend this group to anyone. Day 1 should have been an indication of how the tour was going to progress. Our tour manager was not organised, knowledgable or efficient. Day 1 we reached our hotel at night at 3:00 AM. We spent all day travelling, stopping middle of no where for 1 hour for lunch break for the driver, looking for lost passport for the tour manager, and getting lost.

Consequently we spent 30 minutes sightseeing. This trend continued throughout the tour. From day 1 our tour manager was on our case to collect tips. Whoever heard of tips being paid upfront. Tips are paid for good sevices rendered. Now I understand why he collected them up front.

One day out of the entire tour stands out. Our tour in Rome. We had an excellent local guide. She was very good and we had a relief driver since our driver had a day off that day. However the hotel in Rome. Summit Hotel was so bad. We spent 2 nights there. The carpet was all wet. Bad smell in the room. My phone was so filthy. I had them change my sheets again in my presence. It was horrible. The other nights hotels were decent. They were so far from the city and from the place we stopped for dinner.

Everynight we were having our dinner around 9 or 10 and getting to our hotel around 11:00 or 11:30 with 40 to 60 minutes of sightseeing. I will not use this company ever again.
