“Don't Bother if you Remember the Old Ones”

Written on: 27/09/2016 by dkBurnham210 (1 review written)

Was given a box for my birthday and shared them with work colleagues who insisted they were out of date. They weren't but I suspect they have upped the sugar content and decreased the cocoa. The chocolate and the fillings were hard and tasteless. Cheap and nasty… Read Full Review

“What have Cadburys done to Roses?”

Written on: 20/09/2016 by Nicolej350 (1 review written)

Cadbury Rose are no more (in my view). What they sell now as Roses are awful! They remind me of some cheap chocolates I once bought at the 99p store. I bought a tub in Tesco yesterday and they will be going back. Just because they are being sold as Roses, don't be fooled, they are not. The wrapper is not the only change, I would have bought Quality Streets had I known… Read Full Review

Coughcandy's Comment

Written on: 25/09/2016

I agree 100 per cent, why do Cadbury's destroy a great British tradition, taste, loved choice of flavours taken away and what passes now for an improvement introduced, why does those in charge fail to learn the lesson, if it ain't broke don't fix it, bring the original choices back including wrappers in a tin, same weight, not more money for less amount. This is happening with many old favourites, change for the sake of it, its insane to change what was perfect, I for one will never buy them again nor will my family, before these dreadful changes they were a wonderful treat and Christmas present, sadly no more, what on earth is happening in this country why can those in charge just leave what we Brits love alone.

“Bitter taste”

Written on: 15/09/2016 by Keagan447 (1 review written)

Was very disappointed when today I brought a tub of rose's I tried two of which used to be my favourites before but i couldnt eat anymore. The taste was horrible and left a bitter nasty taste in my mouth. I have since thrown the rest in the bin. I doubt they will be selling many this Xmas as I wouldn't want them if they were free. What have they done!!… Read Full Review

“Absolutely Horrible”

Written on: 11/09/2016 by Dows (1 review written)

Have recently purchased 700g plastic tub of Cadbury roses. Cadbury have changed the product to a sugary disgusting mess.

They all taste like Hersey bars, I wouldn't feed them to an animal let alone offer to a child or a loved one as a treat. It is incredible to watch a world renowned brand such as Cadbury self implode. All of their products taste different to before.

They also use stale nuts and raisins in their products which I would doubt are suitable for human consumption, I present better

“The magic has gone from Roses”

Written on: 31/08/2016 by KerryJonesey (1 review written)

Oh how I loved to open a box of Roses chocolates whether they be from the super cute card board box version or the awesome Christmas roses tin (that you could use afterwards for many years for numerous purposes). No longer. Plastic box (which I realise it has been for a while now - but still). But the chocolates are now also all wrapped in dull as dishwater non-descript wrappings that all look the same just different colours - oh how I miss lifting the lid of the tin to unveil the twinkling… Read Full Review

“change is not always for the better”

Written on: 14/07/2016 by Pierre372 (1 review written)

brought a tub of roses chocolates for a treat and in the past they would not have lasted 5 mins with my family once opened. however a week on and hardly any have been enjoyed. These chocolates don't taste of chocolate at all they are sickly confectionary not to be enjoyed by grown ups… Read Full Review

“Disgusting overly sweet ”

Written on: 30/06/2016

Have not had roses for a while and certainly won't be buying any more, They don't taste like chocolate, real sugary sweet taste and not at all like the Cadburys chocolate that we used to get. Would definitely not recommend them… Read Full Review

“What's happened to Roses?!”

Written on: 12/05/2016 by MarkPI (1 review written)

Ok - they were never a byword for high quality chocolates, granted. But they did have the lovely cadbury chocolate coating, and a decent mix of flavours to suit most tastes. All this appears to have been dumped in their latest incarnation in a curious decision to make every single chocolate taste roughly the same - overly sweet, sticky and all round foul. They remind me strongly of the incredibly nasty chocolates you can buy in the US - Hersheys etc. I guess sugar is cheaper than any other… Read Full Review

“Nasty sickly chocolates”

Written on: 11/05/2016 by SterlingSheridan398 (1 review written)

What has happened to Roses? Used to be my favourite now I find they taste quite nasty, was too sweet and sickly and has a nasty aftertaste. The melt is all wrong, the wrappers and selection are rubbish. Ate 3 (spat one of them out) and threw the rest away… Read Full Review

“I would award zero stars if the system let me”

Written on: 29/03/2016 by Forbesvg489 (1 review written)

I used to love Roses, but we were given some at Christmas and they now taste too sweet and quite unpleasant. Even my favourite, the Hazelnut Whirl, is no longer enjoyable. Is the chocolate recipe different? I was given some this weekend and gave them another go, but no, they are ruined. The wrapping of the sweets in now boring, but the main problem is that they no longer taste nice. What's the point of eating something that's not good for you if it doesn't taste nice? No point!… Read Full Review

“Cadbury's Roses are no longer a treat”

Written on: 11/03/2016 by DahliaSheridan (1 review written)

I was looking forward to enjoying my box of Roses chocolate's as they have always been one of my favourites. As soon as I took the first bite I could taste the difference and it certainly wasn't pleasant. The chocolate tasted strange and had a horrible greasy texture to it which put me off eating any more. The fillings are not pleasant either and all taste pretty much the same .... horrible. I seriously think that the new owners of Cadbury have made a big mistake in meddling with our… Read Full Review

“Ghastly - all gooey and no real variety”

Written on: 02/02/2016 by 363Fournier (1 review written)

Cadbury used to be a great quality brand - since Kraft took over it has become cheap in terms of quality and actually nasty in terms of taste and texture. Would never buy Roses again as these are nothing like the original - virtually all the same tiny oblong shaped sweets with minimum chocolate coating that stuck to the teeth. Horrible!!!… Read Full Review

“Bring back cadbury's chocolate”

Written on: 27/01/2016 by captaindoug19 (1 review written)

I have been avoiding cadbury's chocolate since the new owner closed the English Factory and changed the recipe and started using inferior ingredients. We were given a box of Roses for Christmas and it is still half full. Normally they would be gone by the end of Boxing day. I agree with most other reviews. If it's not broken don't fix it. Give us our chocolate back and re-open the English Factory. The chocolate and fillings are not of an acceptable standard at any price… Read Full Review

“Worst Xmas Chocs Ever”

Written on: 11/01/2016 by Georgiah462 (1 review written)

So few chocolates in the tub compared to what I remember as a child. I couldn't believe that when I opened the plastic cheap and nasty tub that I couldn't even get a dairy milk chocolate. It had dark chocolate (bin), and a coffee based chocolate (bin) but no normal basic English Dairy Milk Chocolate. Quality Street are streets ahead, but if I'm honest, the best chocolates I tasted this year were Sainsbury's own… Read Full Review

“What have they done”

Written on: 11/01/2016

I have brought Cadburys roses for years and loved then, this year 2015 I purchased my usual tin for Christmas. How disappointed, what have they done the new ones are awfull horrible taste no pleasure at all. Why change something that is a success to this. I will have to find another brand as I won't be buying these again, such a shame… Read Full Review

“Couldn't give them away”

Written on: 08/01/2016 by AngeliqueWilson206 (1 review written)

They have gone in the bin. There is no nice real creamy cadbury taste like there used to be which used to mean it was hard to refrain from eating them all at once. Now I couldn't get anyone to eat more than two because there is nothing nice about them to make you want another. It's just has an awful cheap taste to them. In a blind taste test I might not be able to tell it was chocolate. I hardly ever write reviews but I'm actually angered at how bad it is. I feel like it's bad using the… Read Full Review

“Awful! Not what they used to be at all!”

Written on: 08/01/2016 by Rebeccae223 (1 review written)

Nothing good to say and left with an overall feeling of sadness at what Cadbury has done to these chocolates. The Roses name may be on the tub but these look and taste nothing like they used to. The cheap plastic tub is much smaller than it used to be and not the luxury experience I remember. The chocolates are wrapped in individual plastic wrappers to take up more room in the box. The chocolates all taste pretty much the same. Sweet, sickly, bland and a waste of calories. There seems to be… Read Full Review
