Good Points: Great value for price, good sound, individual control of sub/speakers, makes watching movies or playing games 10x better.
Bad Points: No digital/coax/optical inputs, not "real" surround but just Dolby Pro Logic (dual stereo), speakers sometimes come loose and you have to fiddle with them.
General comments: I bought this set from Walmart over 3 years ago for $30....unfortunately they don't sell this product any longer, but if you have a chance to pick up a set and can verify it works before hand, I would jump at the chance.....they are good speakers for a low low price. Mine have laster over 3 years and through 3 moves without incident. They don't put out true surround sound, but they work well enough for my purposes....then again, I'm not an audiophile like some. I just really want to experience the movie or game I've got on the TV, and this fits the bill at a price you just can't beat. There are a few quirks, as I've seen with a lot of Walmart's China-built products, but nothing deal breaking. Definitely recommend.

I bought my system just under 5 years ago for £30 and it has lasted me through college and university, and now home. It has an amazingly good sound quality, especially for the price, and I love it to bits. I've hooked it up to my DVD, T.V combi, Freeview, Playstation2 and my laptop, and all works brilliantly. My left rear satellite speaker stopped working this weekend so I'm gonna see if I can fix it- but to be quite honest I'm not that bothered about it breaking as it has given me 5 year ...

OK well... the first one I got the remote stopped working for no apparent reason and I could not press the buttons, and after a while I couldn't even turn it on, so I got a new one and I have had it for about a year now and have had not a single problem from it, *knock on wood* but I am pleased to say I am in love with my Durabrand surround sound system, though I cannot hook up digital audio and other things like that I still enjoy watching movies, crankin up music and just watchin south park on ...

It's the second one I bought within 6 months and I'm so mad. The DVD doesn't read and to watch a movie it's so much trouble because that takes seriously 20 minutes before to read the DVD. I'm just so frustrated. Yes, it's cheap but when I buy something, I likes when it's works. I tryed to return the DVD at Wal-Mart but they have only 90 days warranty so now I have to return it to the company because they have 1 year warranty.. thank god.. but I have to pay the shipping. Is anyone knows what I ca ...

I have now owned two of these Durabrand Home Cinema Surround Sound systems in the last year and both have failed on me, for no apparent reason. On the first, one of the satellite speakers failed to work and on the second, the bass unit stopped working.
Although initially good value for money and quite good sound, it seems they are not very reliable.

I got my Durabrand Home Cinema Surround Sound speakers going within 30 minutes of opening the box.
The sound is a good deep bass without boom. The treble highs are good, and if you use brackets the speakers perform well.
They remind me of the old Wharfdale's that I had as a teenager, and have still got.
There is also a very good manual included.

I would recommend the Durabrand Home Cinema Surround Sound to teenagers/older children that want decent 5.1 surround sound in their bedroom.

About 18 months ago I changed from an old but advanced top-of-the-range Philips television to a Loewe Aconda model.
While the Loewe outshone the Philips in nearly all departments one feature of the Philips which I missed was the rear speaker option and for some time I have been seeking a simple amplifier to power additional speakers from the Loewe audio output terminals.
I found it in, of all places, a large branch of Tesco at a cost of £35. It is called the Durabrand Home Cinema Sur ...
