Awful, 25th January I returned items to the store and have the receipt. I've had to phone Next 3 times to get the items credited to my account, as of today, 15th March, one item still hasn't been credited. Would never use this company again !!

“What's Happened to Next?”

Ordered 5 items of 'in stock' menswear from the website. They took 11 days to arrive!!! So much for next day delivery. Email responses from customer services take around 4 days! Was promised an 'investigation' into the delay of order...needless to say I heard nothing! They simply don't care. I have returned the order and closed my account. Will not be shopping at Next again. There are far more reliable retailers to do business with who also have far superior customer services.

“Absolute rubbish”

I went to order a pair of boots they gave me credit of £150 five weeks later they suspend my account based on credit reference company ,what a load of rubbish why did you give credit in the first place I was happy to pay for the boots straight away idiots

“Absolutely incredulous ”

My experience with this company has been atrocious. Firstly, I was unable to place an order online, it asked me to try again which I did. This failed so I called them to place the order over the phone and explain what had happened. Despite all the reassurances of the customer services representative the order went through twice. Not only that but I was charged twice too. So £300 off my credit card and now I want to return the items. Arranging the courier was impossible. On at least 4 occasions they went to the billing address rather than the delivery address. And the remaining 6 occasions they just didn't show up. Finally it turned out that the courier in the area had broken his handheld device and was working from a printed bit of paper. I have waited home for two full days for these couriers as they are unable to even specific morning or evening. Finally NEXT sent parcel force. So far on my account only 3 items are showing as returned. Parcel force didn't give me any proof of collection so I have no idea if I'll ever get my money back. To add insult to injury they even charge for collections which is unheard of with big companies these days. Especially considering the inconvenience of having to wait home all day for a courier. Please proceed with caution when using this company. Much safer to just go to the store.

“Horrendous waste of time!”

I honestly don't think I've ever had so much hassle over a pair of shoes! Ordered them to be delivered to my local store. So far so good. Needed to return them as one shoe faulty. Told by customer services on phone to return to store where new pair would be waiting. They were not there waiting so the store contacted next directory customer services who say they are ordered and will be delivered to my home. This didn't happen, so both customer services people failed to place the order. They said they have refunded the money. No sign of this in my account. No shoes, no money and a LOT of wasted time. Don't bother with next online or by phone!!!!

“I'm fuming with next - absolute " merde "service”

I added a few items to basket to show my partner when she got home . But next decided to process this order and give me credit that I didn't want . They also sent all the wrong sizes . I rang customer services which took forever and the woman said they had no record of my details . I can't believe they send the items without even asking or telling you that it will be on credit . I'm livid . They have sent me 3 arrears letters and I have now since paid but am taking this up with trading standards . Next are absolutely out of order doing this and as a result I'm a house if Fraser shopper now .

“I think help is required! ”

The issue is not with the product but with the service of the Next Directory team/management. I was kept on hold for 10mins only to find that I had then missed the slot for next day delivery (this is not the first time this has happened)I'm not sure whether I'm expecting to much, but surely at 9.50pm in the evening the lines would be on the slightly lighter side! Somebody needs to look at this urgent, I can't be the only long term customer who is having these problems at the moment!

“misleading online credit application!!!”

I just registered online and ordered a sweater to be delivered to a local Next store. The website says you can pay on collection, which is what I wanted to do. I was then shocked to find out that I had been given £1500.00 of credit and charged for the sweater, which was now being delivered to my home address!!! None of which I asked for! Next said that on ticking the terms and conditions box I agreed to the credit facility and that a first order had to be sent to my home address! This is a totally corrupt and misleading online credit facility . I've asked Next to cancel it immediately and that I will not take delivery of the parcel. Next are blatently abusing customers by doing this and I won't be shopping with them again.

“Great Service”

After reading the other reviews here I wonder if they used the same company i did. The catalogue is still a must in our house (even if it does mainly get read in the toilet). Ordering stuff - as you would hope from a shop - is a breeze and given that you can return it to any NEXT shop (my closest one is only a home store and they still take everything) I can't see how it could be better. OK, the prices are always what you would hope them to be, but Next are a great British retailer and we should be rightly proud of them!

“False advertising, bad customer service is another...”

I placed an order for a description of "black leggings" and "brown leggings" from the sales section of the website. These arrived and were labelled "maternity" of which no description was shown on the sales section of the website. As a good will gesture nothing was offered to send the regular sizing due to NEXT's false advertising and the causing of much inconvenience to myself. But I can clearly see that lack of customer service is an issue. NEXT still have not corrected this on the website

“horrible business”

i ordered a little girls legging set and they sent the incorrect item. I received a boy's shirt instead. when i called customer service, they didn't seem to think it was a "problem". they told me to keep the shirt or "donate" it and that they would refund me. they didn't even offer to send me the correct item. Instead, they said that if I wanted my original item, i would have to go online and reorder it. what kind of customer service is that?? it was their mistake and they didn't even try to rectify the problem. i've ordered from countless online stores and catalogs and have never encountered customer service like that.

“Shocking customer service!”

I've been a Next Directory customer since it was launched. In early 2012 and Oct 2013 I received letters saying my returns percentage was too high and with no reduction or improvement (feel like a naughty school kid!!), if they didn't hear from me then they would close my account. I contacted them on their extraordinarily expensive phone number to explain I make returns because of: - inconsistent sizing - poor product descriptions - product delivery delays, so eg if I buy two items to go together and one is delayed, because of a 7 day returns policy I have to return the first item and possibly reorder in line with the arrival of the delayed item. They explained that it was not cost effective for me to be a customer, yet I always collect my items from my local store and on average keep over 10% of all orders. The tone of Next's correspondence is infuriating and their customer service is arrogant.

“Best shop in store if you can't make up your mind!”

I have been a Next Directory customer for a good few years and normally place a large order around 3 times a year to update my wardrobe. I keep some bits but most does go back and this is one of the reason I loved shopping with Next so much. The freedom to shop and return with no obligation to buy, although I never ended up empty handed. Something always got my attention. You can imagine how shocked I was when I received a 'general' email stated that their terms and conditions had changed and they would effect my bulk ordering. Gone was the possibility of placing a large order and returning everything. If you did this you would be charged. What happens if you are invited to a wedding or a special occasion and need a dress. I normally have to go through at least 20 dresses before I find the one I want to wear. Now I know the Next Directory will not be on my list of places to go to if I need that special little something. Which for me is such a disappointment. I love Next clothes, they are made with great quality and last forever. I still look online at their clothes but now only order household goods instead. Any clothes are tried on in store if I can be bothered. Maybe they will change this policy if they realise that loyal customers have been put off ordering, because most people do want to try before they buy and it doesn't always suit us once we are wearing it.

“Just, don't do it to yourself.”

I ordered 3 separate items from Next Direct and not only did 2 of the items get lost in transit, when these items eventually arrived, they weren't the sizes I ordered. I sent the items back asking for a size swap, (paying for my own postage) They straight out refunded my money for the items and swept in under the rug without returning the correct sizing. If I had this many issues with a simple 3 item itinerary, there's bound to be a smooth transaction rate of about 5%. DO NOT USE THIS SALES COMPANY

“Horrible customer service”

I just wanted to share my recent experience with next direct with you all. I want to start by saying that for years I've loved next for their quality, style and reasonable prices on kids clothing. It's where I shop every season for my kids and I recommend it to everyone I know. I am a photographer so when clients ask what to wear- next is always on the top of my list of recommendations. That being said I am extremely disappointed in my recent experience with next. I was very excited (like everyone else) about their 50% off sale since I have never ever seen a sale from next in the years I've been shopping with them. I logged onto the website and spent hours combing through what I was going to purchase. Hours because those of you who have ordered from next before know that their website is the worst site to order from! Items that are sold out will load into your cart anyhow (as out of stock) and sometimes your cart will empty itself randomly and you have to search for your items again. I had my cart all ready- about $400 in items for $200! That's a great deal! Checked my email for my confirmation- which i did get. I was so excited to get my order and expected to have my kids clothing by Monday or Tuesday, just in time for our mini vacation. Packing was going to be a breeze! Instead I woke up Monday morning to an email saying, "Unfortunately, there has been a technical problem, and we're not able to process the order shown below at the moment. You have not been charged for the order. We're really sorry about this but the items are still available and to place your order again please go to www.nextdirect.com/us. ". Great. Thanks next. You can order your items again at full price- oh and good luck with them still being in stock! So, I called them. They couldn't find documentation of my order anywhere. So, I forwarded my confirmation email as well as my cancellation email. The next day, today, they emailed me with a "resolution". "As a gesture of goodwill on your next order, should you place an order over $50 and receive your order we will refund $10. Please advise of us once your new order has been placed and received so a colleague can issue the refund for you." Ten measley dollars? Are you kidding me? Keep your ten dollars. This was YOUR technical issue- not mine. I did everything right as a consumer. I'm sorry that you had a sale that you didn't really think through- that was apparent when the sale was cut short and the excuse (you used on facebook) was that you were "overwhelmed". You don't comp the people who ordered to make up for your lousy mistake. This is a good way to lose good regular customers. I'm not usually one to complain but this was unbelievable to me and I just thought customers should know what they are getting themselves into before ordering with this unreliable company. My complaint has already been taken up with customer service and they failed to come up with a satisfactory resolution. Their resolution was in fact- laughable.

Please dont apply for credit from next you will regret it. I had very bad experience. Service charge for no reason every month, high interest, poor customer service, expensive and poor quality clothes. Never ever will shop from next again even instore.

“Ordered my new suit for the races on Monday, arrived...”

I found the suit I wanted through the next catalogue and unfortunately my size was not available in the store. Having checked online I realised it was available direct and decided to try placing an order despite never ordering a suit online before. The website is great, with really good zoomed in images available and a great selection of colours. I clicked through the checkout and realised I could get it sent to the store, unfortunately - this option did not work for some reason despite it saying I could have it the next day for just 50p. The only other slight annoyance is Next will not deliver to work addresses. However, I booked a time slot and took some time off work. The suit arrived in great time from a cheery delivery fellow, and it fits great. Very pleased, will certainly use this again.

“Worst online shopping site”

Very customer unfriendly site - no order reference number, no order status or tracking. My case, I never got items I ordered and had to deal with such unhelpful customer service for number of times to get refund which took a while.I regret giving my personal details to this site, it feels so unsafe. When things go wrong you will need to call the worst customer service- not worth it. Retail staff are usually pleasant and I've had no bad experience to date but Next online shopping - BIG LET DOWN!

Used the next website twice and ordered items paid on my card ,both occasions gave me a customer order number and no items received to collect from store ,this is very poor customer service and also when you email or phone no replies >>>>>>AVOID AT ALL COST.
