Good Points: Prints upto A3. High quality photo images, upto A3, on photo paper.
Bad Points: Slow. Installation of new ink cartridges causes a test print to be run - not very good in the middle of a print run. Only two cartridges.
General comments: I purchased the HP Deskjet 9300 to print MS Project Gantt charts, as they are often larger than A4. I had very few reasonably priced A3 printers to choose from, the HP being within £10 of the Epson and other HP available from the stores. Printing A4 b+w is fine, add a little colour - an image or even highlighted text and it all slows down. This is not too much of a problem if it is one or two sheets, but I tend to throw large volumes through my printer and waiting a couple of hours for 50 sheets is not acceptable.
The quality is fine, including upto A3, although my Canon 4000 is higher quality upto A4.
Having only two cartridges is not good at this level - A3 photoprinting sucks the ink out. When the ink cartridges are changed the guys at HP seem to think it needs to do a test print - if the ink has run out mid print run, it just does it on the next sheet - I have lost quite a few sheets of A3 glossy photopaper this way - I know I should have learnt, but....
Also - I have to print thin card at times (200g), this has caused the springs to stretch, this in turn causes sheet feeding to miss, I have overcome it by buying another printer for card, and letting the 9300 rest for a few weeks. It seems fine again now.
If you aren't worried about time or deadlines and only intend to use this for single sheet printing, I recommend it, if you are after high volume, complex printing, go elsewhere.
