    Good Points: 1.Fast CPU
    2. Weighty but solid
    3. Memory upgradeable- now running 1Gb PC2700 SIDIMM whereas it came with 512Mb PC2100.
    4. Runs Windows XP Pro very well.
    5. Copper heatsink and fan assembly keeps the CPU cool enough to avoid
    6. Plenty of USB ports and both a 56K modem and LAN sockets

Bad Points: 1. Run continually on the charger/mains power causes the inverter to malfunction and the graphics take a long time to settle. Multi coloured haphazard screen image until it does.
    2. Only one memory slot.
    3. Replacement Batteries are expensive .
4.Speaker output is weak and pathetic

General comments: As long as you are not going to store masses of digital photos a Seagate Momentus 40Gb HDD is fine. Upgrading the battery increased the battery life to 2.5 hours fully charged, though if used intensively to load programs this soon reduced to an hour or so.
    Overall not a bad laptop.

When I first opened the Packard Bell Easynote K5, I was surprised by the weight. Very heavy. This laptop is definitely to be used as a desktop replacement. I would not recommend it as a mobile computer, if you are to be carrying this to work and back every day then you better be strong!

The actual build of the laptop is not very nice either... a lot of flimsy plastic to be honest. It appears that a single drop will smash the la ...
