the holguin playa pesquero resort is great and beautiful..and the staff are so friendly ...the food good and the sea is fenomanal..really ..if you want a great place this is it ...i would return in a heartbeat... loonies and toonies not acceptable ..they prefer you exchange your money and give them a pesos..and dont forget to tip ,we think this is so important this is their livelyhood ...would also like to say the dolphin swim is so great ..honest this is something you will never forget.....also the horse and buggy ride is also great...bring five dollar bills ..to exchange for toonies ..that they have ..hope you enjoy like we did ..trip of a lifetime ...

My husband myself & our 2 boys stayed at the Playa Pesquero for the first time from Feb 3rd until the 10th, 2009. I was responsible for booking for my family, I felt a little nervous after reading the other reviews. this was my 3rd time in Cuba & my husbands 2nd. Our week was FANTASTIC & we would do it again in a heartbeat. some people left their plastic drink cups on the beach and then complained they were not cleaned away. Bring your own drink mug to avoid using the little plastic cups. ...

The complex as a whole was absolutely fantastic the staff are so friendly the rooms where also excellent the mini bar was well stocked (if you want a bit extra just leave 5 pesos in the fridge for the mini bar boys and you will 9out of 10 times find extra water beer and pop) the gardening staff toiled all day every day to keep the grounds clean and tidy.
The food in the Romantica was to die for and the food on site as a whole was fantastic.
have a fresh fruit salad off the local children on the ...

From the moment we landed in Cuba until such time it was a distant spec as we flew away our holiday was absolutely fabulous. Playa Pasquero for us was absolutely perfect in every conceivable way. The accommodation, the service, the staff, and even the food which quite frankly there was an abundance of. The beach was gorgeous and never a problem with chairs. Check in and out was speedy and efficient. For such a large resort we felt that the grounds were perfectly kept and quite beautiful. T ...

The Staff at Playa Pesquero were very good, as was the food choice, accommodation, entertainment and cleanliness.

I have just returned from this amazing resort with 17 family and friends and nothing but fantastic comments were to be heard by all. We are all looking into returning next year in fact!
To be honest, I read a few reports before we left and there was a mixed bag of comments, some of which said that there was glass on the beach, I dont see how this could have been so as glasses were n ...

We just came back on the 21/03/2008 and wow what a holiday. I like many others did read some bad reviews but to be honest I think they were people who like to complain in general because there were four of us and there was nothing that we could find to complain about.... my son and his girlfriend were 20 so a mixture of ages in and party and we all enjoyed it... we are all going back either the end of the year or next March... best thing to do is not to take too much notice of the reports just ...

28th Dec 2007. Having read many reviews on this Hotel we were a little concerned. We need not have been, what a fantastic place. This Hotel is classed a 5 star in Cuba. You have to keep in mind that Cuba is a poor country and would probably be a class 4 in the UK. The place is spotlessly clean and the people are very freindly and cannot do enough for you, however tipping does have its advantages.

Food: There are many places to eat, we particularly liked the Beer Garden a bit like a tappas ba ...

Playa Pesquero is visually a beautiful hotel, which, along with its 4 star plus /five-star rating deceived me into thinking that the standards of food, cleanliness and generally basic hygiene would live up to the claims on the Thomas Cook website and brochures. We have had better standards in two-star, last minute deals, allocation on arrival for under £200. I have no doubt that in Cuba the Playa Pesquero is a 5-star resort, but I think it isn't fair to imply that it is up to British stand ...

We have made many friends at the Playa Pasquero in Cuba, and we are really looking forward to going back. The staff are very intelligent (some are teachers and engineers etc.). It is just that the wages are better in the hotel industry. I take AA batteries for my friends, as these cost over $5 each, plus pens and pencils.

Please really enjoy your visit. I have visited and lived in quite a few other countries, and this is best that I have ever been to.

Overall, we had the best holiday ever at the Holguin Hotel in Cuba. Every one of the staff was polite and friendly. The A la Carte restaurants were amazing. If you want a touch of class, then book the Romantica restaurant for your last night. You won't be sorry. The Chilean Sauvignon Blanc is highly recommended to go with the lobster!!!

If you want to relax on the beach, it's best to go down to the left of the water sports where it is much quieter. There is a mobile bar on the beach down ther ...

Playa Pesquero, Holguin is a fantastic hotel. I have been to hotels all over the region, and this is, without a doubt, the best so far.
The hotel itself offers a good standard of room, with all of the amenities you could want, from TV and fridge through to an ironing board! If anything goes wrong, the staff fix it very quickly, sometimes before you even know it has gone wrong.

The hotel has some 7 restaurants offering a variety of food. Most of them are open only in the evening and are a la ...
