    Renting from Victoria Cars at Madrid, worried after the 1-star review below. However, no problems experienced. The phone numbers on the order confirmation worked and were answered immediately when calling 24 hours in advance. At the airport, the staff were meeting us next to the other car rentals (standing next to AVIS), as written on the order confirmation. Receiving the car, no problems, returning it, no problems. And the price was approx. 50% of the big brands. All in all - happy so far.

    Only issue with Victoria seems to be, that they charge you a full tank when you start, so you have to return the car with as little fuel as possible. This is more tricky than one might think.

    Give the main car hire desks a miss at Barcelona - when we travelled in August - Victoria Car Hire had a desk set up in the car park! - no Queues and Car waiting to go! - Just has to complete and sign a form and we were away. great value for money too - would definitely use them again - very friendly efficient staff too!

    I have been using Victoria from Alicante and now Murcia for over 10 years and have always found the cars reliable, staff helpfull never any problems and excellent service all round - I recommend them to anybody!

    Victoria Cars pick up and drop-off at Madrid Barajas Airport makes you feel like you're buying black market goods from a guy wearing a trench coat. "Meet me on the second level of the parking structure Terminal 1, Parking 1, Zone 3, 2nd level."
    Make your reservations from 5,000 miles away and then find out they don't have a GPS unit available. First time in the county, no maps, good luck!
    Cruise control didn't work consistently, visor broken (sun shining directly into eyes).

    I have used Victoria Cars regularly for the past five years at Alicante and Murcia and overall have found them to be very good. Most staff speak very good English and are friendly and helpful. Good website, easy to book on line and you dont have to pay up front. I am often tempted to try another company but I have heard horror stories of being charged for damage not caused by the hirer and other hidden charges, so if I do pay a little extra, I think it's worth it for a company which has so far ...

    This summer we have hired with Victoria at Barcelona airport and for our part could not complain. Normally, we are hiring at Alicante or Valencia airport with them as we spend our holidays usually on Costa Blanca. That's also why we first looked up for prices at their website and considered them as fine. Certainly, the staff in Barcelona was quiet busy when attending us but they had around 6 people at the office at that time (we picked up the car at 7 in the evening). Too, they spoke good Englis ...

    On average I hire 6 cars p.a. in Catalonia, booked through an online broker. When I booked a car for Barcelona I noticed that the hire location was off the airport which wasn't ideal but it stated the location was 3 minutes away from the airport which didn't seem bad. The evening before we flew I received a call from Victoria Cars confirming I wanted the car and the pick up location. When we arrived there was no one there.     Try Victoria Cars, a little company from the Costa Blanca. Now they have offices only in the Costa Blanca, but they provide service in different Airports in Spain in collaboration with other companies.

    Prices are as competitive as some bigger car rental companies. And, when you reach the airport (Alicante, Valencia or Murcia), you don't have to wait long queues to pick the car up.
