“No customer service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Manchesterkarting on 07/11/2013

We arranged a karting event at the track and have done for 7 years but what a nightmare this year. Never felt with such stroppy arrogant staff in any industry and even when we spoke to the owners we got a short sharp response not conducive to promoting business in the leisure industry. This is a great track totally ruined by a very bad attitude to customers.

“Worst customer service ever”

★☆☆☆☆

written by RDowse on 06/08/2013

I bought a 'junior supercharge experience' or Christmas for my son. He was 17 in feb and began driving lessons . We therefore, thought he'd have a better experience as he had some knowledge of driving. Mistake! Apparently according to terms and conditions this invalidated the experience! After much argument, the experience could be transferred to an adult experience but only 1 date was available and at a teak 2 hours drive from my home starting at 10 am. I have since tried to change other the date or the race track and found the customer services team very rude. SO now I have a booking that is not worth the time and fuel and early get up for something that cost £85! I Strongly advise against other people NOT to purchase vouchers with this company any as you might actually be paying for fresh air

Hi-

we are sorry you feel this way, we did change your original experience for an adult drive, when you called this morning you did not give all the information you did on your second call. Afterwhich we gladly changed your experienced for a SECOND time free of charge.
We do feel you review does not reflect the service you have received.

“They treat you like Kids!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 31/05/2013

Definitely the worst customer service I've ever experienced when booking anything! They talk to you asif you've done something wrong, and give you the impression they don't want you to turn up! This is doubled by how annoyingly long winded it is to simply pick an available date and redeem your voucher, which you've already paid £139.99 for I might add! They blatently don't want you there! You're rushed, hearded like cattle and contantly reminded its only a 4 laps activity! I will never ever book anything through these again! But if you're happy about being spoken to like a child, and getting patronised, book ahead! They driving experience will dissapoint you on they dreadful track anyway!

★★★★★

written by Stemc39 on 05/05/2013

I was bought this driving experience by my sister for Xmas. I went to the Three Sisters Race Circuit, Wigan yesterday (04/05/13) it was fantastic, great day out. Fantastic! Couldn't Fault a thing. Instructors 10 out of 10. staff were excellent I have never driven anything that accelerates so fast. "The Ariel Atom is probably the fastest road car on the planet! This is a truly remarkable driving experience that will create a memory for life."

“open team endurance event (karting)”

★★☆☆☆

written by Phatboy177 on 27/04/2013

so we booked the open team endurance event after looking at the three sisters very snazzy website. confirmation sent through with hardly any details about the event layout just be there at 17:30 for the briefing. arrive at 17:00 to be greeted by a lovely woman asking us why we are there. great start eventually she was told what was going on just take a seat and wait till the other teams arrive. 18:15 briefing starts 45minutes late for 10mins you watch the safety video then head over to the pit lane lane for practice. 30mins practice 2hr endurance race so we get to the pit lane first driver jumps in for his practice 1 lap complete the power just go on the kart and he is creeping round the track manages to get in the pit lane to be told it just needs to warm up by one of the marshalls and sent back out 2 mins later driver change kart cuts out in pit lane so we request another kart which was given however this one makes it to the end of the pit lane then promptly breaks down and wont start back up. so third kart now 15mins of practice gone and only 2 drivers been out for practice my turn out there to practice manage 1 lap then you guessed engine spluttering all power lossed mangaed to get to the pit lane for yet another kart change. 4th drivers turn now he jumps in the kart it cuts out the marshall pull the cord to start it which breaks in his hand so given another kart which now seems to be ok. practice over time for the race starting from the back of the grid due to all the kart changes which we thought was not our fault but hey we continue anyway. so race starts and immediatly appaarent is we dont have a competitive kart it seems that the power output of some karts are very different our one just seemed to hold back and never gave full throttle going down the straightest part of the track racing another driver the same weight as me and he is pulling away very fast. unfortunatly that was the story of our whole race and we finished some 10 laps behind the leaders. Three Sisters is proud to be referred to as 'The Jewel of the North' within the motorsport fraternity i find this to be a rather ambious statement i think the track and the event it self could be so much more the pit lane has massive pot holes in it the track it self has patchy repairs all over the place.the screen you watch your lap times on is a very old 14'' telly organisation is the key and unfortunatly there was very little of it here. so some thourough modernisation and newer karts better staff training and i would not hesitate to spend my money here till then i think i will look for better altenatives.

“Double Supercar Experience”

★☆☆☆☆

written by witness160 on 09/06/2012

Upon arrival we were greeted with friendly reception staff and a thorough and light hearted induction to the circuit but that where the good new ends unfortunately. This track is certainly not suited to super-cars at all and should be used for karts only, tight twisty and not much fun even in an Ariel atom. Admittedly it was wet but I found the instructor rude, My 1st time in the car so no prior experience, and on the back straight I brought the throttle in as gently as I could for the 1st time but and slightly span the rear wheels and rather abruptly the instructor said 'if you do that again were heading straight back to the pits'. That set the tome for the remaining 5 laps. I did not experience the car at all as I was too worried about upsetting the instructor and found the whole experience tame and short lived as I was only allowed to use 3rd and 4th gear both in the atom and the Ferrari 360. 6 laps in each for £120, We could have got round faster in a 1L hatch back this not a good 'experience' of the cars, 1 due to the nature of the small and restrictive circuit ans 2 the instructors attitudes being rather rude. I understand safety is of the up-most importance but people wanting to experience these cars at roughly £10 a lap are not there to clown around. Keep track should be kept for karting as it was intended!!

“I was expecting better”

★★☆☆☆

written by davebnly on 20/05/2012

I was bought a triple supercar drive as a gift for a birthday and booked to drive Ferrari 360, Porsche 996 and Ariel Atom. I'll start with the good points regarding the circuit. The cars were well maintained and clean and the reception/check-in/briefing staff were excellent. I was rather annoyed with the organisation of the whole thing as with no experience of this particular track whatsoever, I was put straight into the hardest car to drive (Ariel Atom) after specifically asking when I booked over the phone if I could drive the Porsche/Ferrari 1st to be able to get used to the track in a more comfortable vehicle. Hence, I was not able to drive the Atom to my full ability due to lack of knowledge of the circuit. The instructors that were with me in the Porsche and the Atom both seemed like they were having a really bad day, were not particularly friendly, were miserable and were very pushy on track (overly necessary with instructions, which caused me to lose concentration) although Steve who instructed me in the Ferrari was excellent. Even though we received a discount on the full price with an offer I still beleieve that due to the poor service I received it was very overpriced at £189. I will not be recommending this, and will not be going there again due to this.

“Should have been cancelled - THE SNOW WAS FORECAST”

★☆☆☆☆

written by md_sparky on 06/02/2012

My partner and i bought my stepsons a supercar experience as a Christmas present, the 2 of them were looking forward to it and although we originally planned to go to Rockingham as it is close to our home in Lincolnshire, they were both keen to use the gift and decided to go to 3 sisters (as there is a 6 month expiry) and one of them is in the forces and is due to go to Afganistan in 2 weeks for 5 months. The event weather line on the morning was saying the event was still on, even although the heaviest snow of the year was due that afternoon in Manchester (bbc weather). So we set off from our home in Lincolnshire and travelled the 160 miles. 20 miles from our destination we hit snow on the M6, so we rang the weatherline to double check and it was still broadcasting all events going ahead so we plugged on. Eventually arriving at the 3 sisters raceway through the heavy snow to a snow covered race track we were told it was cancelled. WHY? They should have cancelled the afternoon events. I travelled a round trip of 300+ miles in some of the worst driving conditions i've ever experienced. WHY? INCOMPETANT! told today that there is no refund policy for travel arrangements even in this situation. DISGRACEFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE ATTITUDE - INCOMPETANT RUDE STAFF SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE BETTER

“THREE SISTERS NIGHTMARE KARTS SAVE YOUR MONEY”

★☆☆☆☆

written by CAMPBELLELLIE46 on 16/12/2011

22 OF US WENT ON THURS NIGHT, I AM A REGULAR AT THE CIRCUIT DOING ENDURANCE PRO KARTING, WE WERE GIVEN THE WORST MOST DANGEROUS KARTS I HAVE EVER DROVE, I TOLD A VERY ARROGANT MARSHAL THAT THE KART I HAD JUST DONE HALF A LAP IN WOULD NOT STEER AND WAS DANGEROUS AND GOT THE REPLY "ALL THE KARTS ARE DIFFERENT MATE" ANOTHER ONE OF MY FRIENDS PULLED IN AFTER 1 LAP OF THE FINAL TELLING THE MARSHAL THAT HE'S KART WAS THE SAME, DANGEROUS AND WAS MET WITH THE SAME RESPONSE!! ANOTHER PRO KARTER GOT OUT OF HIS KART ON THE STARTING GRID AND WALKED OFF AFTER THE SIGHTING LAP REFUSING TO DRIVE IT FOR THE SAME REASON, I WAS ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIED AT THE CONDITION OF THE KARTS AND THE IGNORANCE OF THE MARSHALS AND ORGANISERS, OBVIOUSLY THE KARTS ARE GOING TO BE BASIC AND TIRED/WORN BUT THESE KARTS WERE SCRAP METAL, IF HEALTH AND SAFETY WERE THERE THEY WOULD OF SHUT THE PLACE DOWN!!! I AM SAD TO BE WRITING THIS REVIEW AS I HAVE PREVIOUSLY ENJOYED THE PRO KARTING DAYS BUT PLEASE, IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT A CORPORATE/TEAM EVENT, SAVE YOURSELF THE MONEY (WE SPENT £1100 ) AND GO TO A DIFFERENT NORTH WEST TRACK , THERE ARE PLENTY AND THIS ONE IS NOT WORTH RISKING YOUR LIFE DRIVING KARTS THAT SHOULD BE CONDEMMED. HOPE THIS POST HAS HELPED AND SAVED YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY.

Stardog32's Response to CAMPBELLELLIE46's Review

Written on: 07/03/2012

So true, experienced the same today. The karts are the worst I have ever driven. The reliability and condition varied from poor to extremley poor. I will never go to this track again for a corporate event! I will also try and defer other people from visiting this track as much as possible. How can you race fairly when the karts have peformance differences of 40% or more?!?! They were also unsafe. A terrible experience and a reputation ruined.

“Celebrating my birthday my Son and I arranged for a...”

★★☆☆☆

written by epicrh on 14/06/2010

Celebrating my birthday my Son and I arranged for a 'driving experience' each in a Lamborghini driving round the circuit at Three Sisters. To be fair to the organisers our visit was organised and safe - also we got a discount for booking by phone 'on the day'. We were briefed and instructed and driving the car was a good experience - we enjoyed the event. However I have to say that what really spoiled the whole day was afterwards when we went to get pictures of us driving the car. (The 'official' photographers have access to best locations for a good photo so you are kind of obliged to buy one)

On offer was a hard copy print (£20) or a print a plus some pictures on a CD (£25) - Unfortunately (as it was then quite firmly explained by the woman in charge) it is 'not possible' to include pictures of two drivers on one CD and that for pictures of both of us on Disc(s) the cost would be £50 !!

This was justified by the view that 'We have to charge because lots of people would just say they are in a group wouldn't they... so those are the rules...I don't make the rules'

Having spent over £200 already - We chose not to pay an extra £50 for a CD though I did (reluctantly) pay £20 for a hard copy of my son driving in the car.

To cap it all they had run out of the cardboard backing frames for the pictures so all I got for the £20 was a printed off photo in a plastic bag.

(A cardboard frame was promised 'in the post' - I'm not holding my breath!)

I mentioned this at the 'de-brief' with the driving people. Apparently it is a 'different company' that do the pictures - the driving experience manager did offer a gratis 'passenger' trip - which I appreciated but didn't take up.

Bottom line is the whole thing is aimed at being an 'experience' (presumably a good one) - the picture is part of the experience; no-one expects something for nothing but excessive charging like this is another thing.

On this occasion my 'experience' was spoilt by an unfeeling and 'profit orientated' approach which couldn't see that.

I won't be recommending this 'experience' to anyone else I know.

Two days after posting this review ( which I copied to The Racing School at Three Sisters ) I received a letter enclosing a CD with picture images of our drive(s) This had been provided by the photographers after a conversation with the Racing School Chief Instructor. Clearly they take notice of feedback and I have thanked them for this follow up and the CD.

written by Richie86 on 08/08/2005

My parents bought me a Racecar super trial + Gold for my 18th Birthday present. I went to the Three Sisters Race Circuit, Wigan yesterday (07/08/05) it was fantastic, great day out. You get taken out in an MG ZR 160bhp, to see what the track looks like etc, then you get a briefing, then you go to the pits, they kit you out with a helmet and suit. Then you go off and get in an MG ZR, go for 7 laps of the track while the instructor tells you the routes to take etc, then he does an assessment of your driving, then you go to the main pits again, and they look at your assessment and assign you to a Formula Ford car. Then do 2 races with a pace car and then depending on what type of package you got for the racing you get one more race without a pace car, and with the +Gold package you get a further 7 laps on top. It was much better than I had ever expect. I recommend this to anyone who wants to have some true thrilling fun.

“I booked the Three Sisters Race Circuit for my...”

★★★★★

written by babrahams on 14/07/2005

I booked the Three Sisters Race Circuit for my husband's 30th birthday. I booked the 1/2 day racing in the Formula Fords.

When we got there everyone was briefed and then told to get dressed. Then teams of people were taken round the track several times by professional racing drivers in the new MGs. Once everyone was familiar with the track, then with the prof driver beside them, each member of the team was given a chance to drive round and get familiar with the track from a driving prospective.

Once familiar, then everyone was split into more teams and briefed on the Formula Fords. Then the rest of the day was spent racing. My husband had a superb time, and I had a chance to go round the track with a professional driver in a 2 seater Formula, and came off wishing I had booked myself onto the day as well.

The staff were brilliant, there was a decent canteen there were you had a break for lunch, and everyone was very pleasant and helpful.

A really great day out as a surprise - and especially good fun. Not too expensive either. Highly recommended!!

What a fantastic place and such lovely staff. I recently took a group of special needs students 16-19 years, from a school in Oswaldtwistle. BSM provided us with an automatic car and a great instructor for a very small fee and the lady at 3 sisters gave us the track time for nothing, so enabling these young people, most of whom will never drive a car again, to at least have a taste of what it is like behind the wheel of a real car. Many, many thanks
