    Good Points: Nothing much. Well below the standards maintain by competitors.


    Bad Points: Sri Lankan Airlines Seats are cramped in economy and even the business class seats are worn out small. Average flights are 13 years old. Not an efficient air line to receive a good customer service. WOuld never fly again.


    General comments: Old flights. Dirty interior.

    Clean, Great Service, Great Food & Entertainment

    One of the worlds best airline fleet. I always travel from Houston to Sri Lanka by Sri Lankan Airlines and the staff and service it offers is excellent.

    Sri Lankan Airlines cancelled flights on us repeatedly, 5 hour delays on the rescheduled flights. On another occassion tried at 5 different Sri Lankkan offices to change a fight 4 couldnt do it?? The 5th took 45 mins to take us of the original flight and rebook us on the exact same filght?? After we pointed this out we waited another 20 mins while we were changed to a flight that left at 1.45 am (we were told it was at 3pm, but that was flying the other way).     Flew LHR to GOI V CMB and had an excellent outward Flight. However 6 weeks before return flight was due read a privately posted warning on the internet that ALL Srikankan Airline flights from Goa had been cancelled as from 1st April which was 4 weeks prior to our detarture.
    However upon checking our itinerary on Viewport found that they had re routed us via Mumbai which is 450 kms from Goa with no connecting flight arranged.This re routing would have meant losing a day of our hol and instead of ...

    First time I flew Sri Lankan - I have flown Emirates & Qatar. Overall SLn was the best. The cabin crew was excellent. Our family flew Sri Lankan in March 2009. They were super! Very good food, friendly crew & comfortable flight.

    We booked tickets from London to Colombo and Singapore a couple months before our holiday and chose Sri Lankan because they were slightly cheaper than others. A month before the holiday they cancelled one of the flights and rescheduled the remaining flights without giving us any option for a refund. The flights we were left with were horrible (9 hour layover and a long haul flight leaving at 4am) and we had to take extra time off work as the new flights arrived on Monday morning.     I think that Sri Lankan does a fantastic job! I flew from London to Singapore via Colombo and KL and it was seriously one of the best flights I have ever been on. I travel a lot and I really appreciated the attentive staff. Keep up the good work!

    Ruined our Honeymoon. Was made to chase them for 3-4 days of my Honeymoon, just to get a response. All we wanted was an apology, explanation or something other than being told that their reports had revealed no faults on the flight, the plane was new, with working ashtrays? How long ago was smoking outlawed on flights? There was nothing they could or would do. Not even offer us a Vodka miniature.
    Appalling, I implore you to fly with someone, anyone, else.

    I have also flown with Quatar a "supposed" 5 star air line, but they were appalling! Air Sri Lanka beat them a 1000 times over, but they do not have the same rating. In my experience, it was a good flight with great crew, and I am looking forward to flying with Sri Lanka again.

    I told my self after flying Air Sri Lanka- it may be one unfortunate day for me. But it happened to me when I was coming back from Singapore too. I was telling my self why our own air liner charges so much and produce a rubbish service by all mean.

    I flew with Air Sri Lanka on 10th May 2006 from Singapore to Colombo. It's really regrettable that I have to post this as I'm a Sri Lankan. This is the worst airline that I have ever flown with! So many confirming problems, and always delayed. :( I don't recommend Sri Lankan airlines to anybody.

    My wife, my son and myself flew Sri Lankan Airlines from London Heathrow to Colombo recently - April 2006.
    The check-in was fine; no problems and very helpful.
    The flight was delayed for over 1 hour and we were informed after boarding had supposed to start??

    The flight to Colombo was overnight, and I would not recommend this to anyone. We took off at 11.30 GMT. We were then treated to the usual drink and snack etc. Then they provided a dinner, and by the time the lights were put out, the ti ...

    I flew from the UK to Sri Lanka with Air Sri Lanka in February 2006, and I have to say it was the worst flight I have ever been on. The plane was dirty, hardly any of the entertainment systems worked, and the staff were impolite. For over 5 hours we didn't even see a member of staff! We stopped in the Maldives (a stop we weren't informed about) and were shocked that despite having over an hour to wait, we had to sit on the plane whilst they hoovered around us!

    On 28th of February 2005 I flew to Heathrow from Colombo. The journey was excellent and Sri Lankan customer service + air hosting is cool. It took 13 hours and I was completely satisfied. I would recommend this.

    I recently travelled from London to Hyderabad via Colombo, the flight service was good till Colombo. I was happy saving some pounds and enjoyed the Air Sri Lanka service but my happiness was shortlived till I arrived Colombos Katunayakes aiport which was a mediocre one though they tried to improve the reception and seating a bit. Staff as usual , my transit was of 5 hrs I was given a meagre breakfast of tea and sandwich, and later told my flight delayed for 2 more hours altogether 7 hrs of stay( ...

    I was to fly with Sri Lankan airways from Frankfurt to Colombo. In Frankfurt I was informed that the flight was overbooked and was asked to go via London. Here, the same story, totally overbooked flight. I finally arrived in Colombo, but my luggage didn't. It took two 4-hour-trips back to the airport before I was finally able to obtain my luggage, only to find out that something had been stolen out of it.     Air Sri lanka is one of the best airlines in service. Flights are more or less modern, fly with British airways and compare their service, I can say Air Sri Lanka is always better then British or American airlines.

    Air Sri Lanka - This airline was expected to come up to the service level of Emirates. Instead, Emirates must have dropped down to UL levels!
    I submitted a special meal request 1 week before departure. Not only was a special meal not served, but the cabin crew were not aware of the same.
    When the meals finally arrived, all the choice given was "Veg? Non-Veg?" where you had to choose between a cold chicken sandwich or a cold cheese sandwich.

    Sri Lankan Airlines is owned by Emirates and as such the aircraft are modern and the services on board are impressive. The ability to check-in at the modern and relatively tranquil Terminal 4 at the world's busiest airport, Heathrow is a big plus. The cabin crew were always polite and smiling and met are every request efficiently.
    Although more expensive than some of the Middle East airlines on the LDN-CLB route it is the only non-stop flight and the service and food are fantastic.
