JAWS is probably the most popular screen reader on the market today and is certainly a very versatile program, being customizable to the user's tastes. Unfortunately it's also very expensive so once you've bought a copy, you're going to be loathe to upgrade it.
The problem with not upgrading however, is that as technology advances, and as more features on the program become compatible with newer software you're really going to want and need the newest versions.
But that aside, this really is a brilliant program. There's about a billion different keystrokes to use it - you may want to go on a training course to start out with, but once you get the hang of it, and start to remember the different combinations then you can fly around on your desktop like never before.
Now, if only people would start designing websites to be compatible with screen reading software, the world of computers and the internet would be a lovely place to spend time.
