Good Points: Excellent family-run, small, basic hotel in convenient position for beach, shops and tavernas. Lovely pool area with plenty of loungers and umbrellas. Good breakfast every day.

Bad Points: Not really bad but would have liked a change of bed linen during our week's stay because it was very hot.

General comments: Arilas, Bardis Sun Hotel - To me Arilas is the real Greece. A fairly small village where nearly all the families have the name Bardis (a bit like the English Smith). The Bardis Sun Hotel owned by Kostas and Aris Bardis was run by various members of their families who were all so welcoming and helpful. They also own the Graziella Taverna just around the corner from the hotel, the food was so good we didn't try anywhere else. Aris and Kostas fish nearly every morning so you know that the lobster, shrimps (i.e. enormous prawns), red snapper, sardines are beautifully fresh. The vegetables, fruit and eggs are from their garden or the cousin's farm, this was the best food I have tasted in a very long time, I would highly recommend it.The service is excellent, friendly and efficient. I shall definitely be returning.
