I've owned this flat bed Twain, Epson scanner for about 7 years and I must say that it is one great scanner. It has both USB 2.0 and IEEE 1394 Firewire connectivity and is PC and Mac compatible, 2400 x 4800 dpi hardware resolution with Micro Step Drive technology and has 48-bit colour depth.

I've scanned all sorts of documents & photo prints with it via Microsoft XP. Though I use it to scan 120 medium format monochrome photo negatives by employing the included plastic carriers, I use a... (read more)
