We went on a cruise on the MS Semiramis in October 2009 and although it was very hot as they were having a heat wave we had the best holiday ever. If you are thinking of a Nile Cruise .... do it. We saw magnificant sights like temples and tombs but also relaxed on deck sailing along the Nile.
Anyone worried about sailing ie seasickness you dont need to worry. I felt the slight movement of the boat from time to time but only ever slight. There is a vibration from the engine which can be quite bad when underway but it didnt detract from the journey at all. I was really worried as I am not a good 'sailor' but i needed have worried. We wanna go back !!

We have just returned from a Nile Cruise on the MS Semmiramiss 2 with Thomas Cook Holidays. It was a wonderful experience in every respect. The boat was very good, cabins a little small but that didn't detract from the overall impression. The food was very good & plenty of it. The boat was clean & the crew very helpful in every respect. Our thomas cook holiday was the best holiday we have had in years.I booked this for a 50th birthday suprise for my wife who had been fasinated by Egypt since being a small girl , both of us we absolutely blown away by the whole experience.
The boats crew could not be more obliging. The bedding and bathroom were spotless and the food on board fantastic.
The boat itself is showing signs of age but this did not distract from the lasting impression we have taken away with us.
We shall return !

We have just returned from this fantastic holiday on the Nile, on the Semiramis 2 (25 Feb 2009) The staff on board are fantastic and very helpful and freindly. My husabnd had a bit of a tummy upset and they organised special meals for him for 24 hours. Thomas Cook combined with Blue Sky Tours is efficient and most enjoyable and our guide was friendly, helful and very informative.

A wonderful holiday good food to suit everyone very friendly
you will not be disappointed if you decide to travel on this boat. the boat is very comfortable and can supply anything you require staff on boat are very friendly and helpful rooms are cleaned daily toilet and shower is cleaned in the morning and early evening clean towels also twice daily. The cleaning is done while you are in the dinning room so you are never inconvenienced.

This was my 1st ever cruise on MS Semmiramiss with Thomas Cook HOlidays and i LOVED it!! Total respect to all the people working on the M.S. Semiramiss II to keep it a totally professionaly run holiday.. The standards of cleanliness is first class, with all Staff so eager to please.. The Quality of this holiday although includes fair amount of walking to visit tombs etc, which was main reason for going, scored very highly with me. I totally disagree with the negative comments about Semiramis 2 - I have taken 8 cruises on this boat and I can't recommend it highly enough - the wonderful staff, delicious food, outstanding cleanliness and hygiene have been second to none. Having also visited the Terramar I can compare the two and the atmosphere on Semiramis is unique - the friendliest place and nicest people I have ever met - I can't wait until my next trip! The holiday was a real experience and the rep and guides were by far the best I have ever had, the tours were very very good and in general the overall holiday was excellent and very good value for money but for the food I would rate the holiday nine out of ten minus eight for food equals one out of ten!

At the end of our 14-day Nile Cruise/Red Sea package holiday with Thomas Cook we were given a courtesy room aboard the Semiramis 2 for a few hours. We can only compare what we saw and ate when compared to the MS Teremar on which we stayed for seven days.... and there is no comparison - despite both being managed by the same company Blue Sky Travel.
Semiramis 2 is a much-larger vessel and is inferior in every respect - especially the cabin design and cleanliness. The bathroom towels were grey ...

A good experience, and met nice people onboard. Great if you like history, lots of walking and climbing steps at the temples. I would rate the boat as 3/4 star though, not 5. Very enjoyable week.

I can not see how this is classed as a 5 star deluxe i would rate it as 3 to 4, on arrival at the boat the reps are asking for £25 per person for tips but if you pay this at the end of your holiday everyone still wants a tip,
