My sister and I went on the MS Semiramiss 11 on the 10 Oct this year and had a brilliant time. Although the boat could do with a face lift it didn't matter as it was clean and the beds were great. The excursions which were included were excellent especially our guide Amro who was a font of information and had a great sense of humour. I don't eat red meat so at times found the food a little tricky but always managed to find something I could enjoy. The staff were attentive and worked hard… Read Full Review

Ive just spent a week on board the semiramis2 with my husband and 4 friends and can only say we had a fabulous time yes the boat is dated but our cabins were clean the guide we had was called mahommed and was fantastic and very knowledgeable. The staff on board were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble. The weather was great the only down side was the persistant harrasment of people trying to sell there goods if they just left you alone to have a look they would sell a lot more… Read Full Review

Had been looking forward to this holiday for a long time. While we enjoyed the sites and the temples the rest of it was a massive let down. First of all our boat was "upgraded" the day before we travelled. I dread to think what the 3* boat was like...this boat is nowhere near 4*. Rooms are okay - comfy, but everything is very dated. The crew were nice enough, but stared at the women A LOT, which by the end of the week made you feel very uncomfortable. No entertainment to speak of, and… Read Full Review

have just returned from Egypt on a nile cruise after staying for a week on the semmiramiss 2 there were three of us 40 yr old ladies full of excite ment after being apparently upgraded to this 4 star boat from the 3 star nile saray on a full board basis as recommended by our travel agent thomas cook as drinks she told us would be affordable . looked good on arrival from outside and because there were 3 of us our room was not too bad although our complimentry room to freshen up on return was… Read Full Review

We have just had a week on board, staff are great, nothing to much trouble. Food is very good. Every thing was fine, could have done with more coat hangers. There was a damp patch on the wall in the bathroom. That does not mar a holiday. The hot fruit drink & the steamed towels on return to the boat were good. There is not entertainment every night, but it is not needed. We are now looking at booking for next year. The excursions most mornings were breath taking. We would have liked to cruise… Read Full Review

As mentioned in a previous review, this boat is not 4 star. The decor is dated, e.g. worn carpets, bedroom furniture old and badly fitted. The bedding was old, e.g. sheets bobbly and thin. The bedding was not changed at all during the week. The pillows were hard and smelt of smoke. The shower cubicle leaked and the door did not close properly. The air conditioning unit was filthy and the temperature control did not work. You are not allowed to flush used toilet paper down the toilet, which… Read Full Review

Semiramis 2 badly needs refurbishing and is certainly not 4* standard. Carpets in public areas are dirty and worn though on the stairs. the lounge is dreary, decorated in grey, black and silver. The dining room is on level 1 and the curtains are pulled most of the time. The wood all over the boat is very dark brown. Our suite was large with a separate area with settee, coffee table and another table and chairs. King size bed. The bath was disgusting with chipped enamel and spa holes that were… Read Full Review

This was a fabulous holiday. The staff and tours were great. There was one very significant problem - the standard of our room. In the brochure the lower cabin rooms are the standard rooms on a 4 star boat. They are sub standard. Very smelly. Overpowering smell of diesel and worse in the bathroom. The room was shabby and certainly not appropriate for a 4 star boat. These rooms should not be sold to paying passengers… Read Full Review

About 60% of the guests came down with some sort of stomach upset so much so that it spoilt the holiday. The conclusion from most of the passengers was that they thought the food was to blame it was awful and repetative.Bread was put out for slicing which allowed for multi contact with hands, this should be stopped. Also it was not manadatory to use the hand towels when boarding the boat, which went unnoticed and should have been more prominent. Also the boarding cards could carry germs form one… Read Full Review

Cannot fault one thing about this cruise holiday. We were a little worried about taking our 11 year old daughter with us thinking it would maybe be too much getting her up at the crack of dawn nearly every day but she probably enjoyed the cruise the most and we also had a great time, thanks to our rep Susan, who was fanastic and our tour guide Amro, who was also a true gentleman and was so good with our daughter, she still talks about him yet to her friends. We also have to mention the cabin… Read Full Review

Just returned from a fantastic holiday with my mum. The boat was half empty so we were able to have a lot of rest in the afternoons after our great morning excursions. All the staff were lovely. The food was very good and the staff were really pleasant. Susan our rep was very enthusiastic and friendly but the best part of the holiday was Amro our guide not only because of his great knowledge and patient explanations but because he really looked after us all and went out of his way to make sure… Read Full Review

We have just returned from our holiday in Egypt - a week's Nile Cruise on the Semiramis 11 followed by a week's stay in Luxor arranged by Thomas Cook.As reported by others, the boat is in need of a little tlc and new White towels (as the grey ones are a little off putting) but in general the cruise and sightseeing tours were good. Two things that did upset us though were caused by Thomas Cook - when paying for tours and your boat bill try to pay in Egyptian pounds, otherwise you end up paying… Read Full Review

a customer relations report was compiled with myself and simon the representative. the complaint and upset was the theft of money from our safe and bedside cabinet incabin no 315.the 28 day reply has long passed and we have heard nothing, this i find unacceptable and really not at all professional.a shadow of dissapointment lay over the holiday not knowing where to put our belongings for safe keeping.everything had to locked… Read Full Review

We went on a cruise on the MS Semiramis in October 2009 and although it was very hot as they were having a heat wave we had the best holiday ever. If you are thinking of a Nile Cruise .... do it. We saw magnificant sights like temples and tombs but also relaxed on deck sailing along the Nile.
Anyone worried about sailing ie seasickness you dont need to worry. I felt the slight movement of the boat from time to time but only ever slight. There is a vibration from the engine which can be quite… Read Full Review

We have just returned from a Nile Cruise on the MS Semmiramiss 2 with Thomas Cook Holidays. It was a wonderful experience in every respect. The boat was very good, cabins a little small but that didn't detract from the overall impression. The food was very good & plenty of it. The boat was clean & the crew very helpful in every respect. Our guide on the tour was extremely knowledgeable & very helpful. We then spent a week in Luxor; unfortunately everytime you left the hotel there were hawkers… Read Full Review

Our thomas cook holiday was the best holiday we have had in years.I booked this for a 50th birthday suprise for my wife who had been fasinated by Egypt since being a small girl , both of us we absolutely blown away by the whole experience.
The boats crew could not be more obliging. The bedding and bathroom were spotless and the food on board fantastic.
The boat itself is showing signs of age but this did not distract from the lasting impression we have taken away with us.
We shall return ! … Read Full Review
