“ not the same Holsten beer ”

Holsten beer used to be my favourite beer when it was still sold in pubs in London over 20 years ago. It had a distinctive, unique flavour then and I really loved the taste. I would like to know why it is no longer sold in London pubs? Over the years I have drank Holsten in canned beer regularly. Unfortunately I have also noticed changes in the flavour of the beer over the years. The taste seems to have deteriorated since the days when it no longer said on the cans that it was (read more)

Holsten Pils is a great quality tasting lager made using only the finest quality, pure natural ingredients - hops, barley malt and spring water.
The distinctive, refreshing flavour and unique taste make Holsten Pils stand out from the crowd

A very colourful and good looking can, at just the right strength, and 6 cans for a fiver I cant go wrong. (read more)

I was getting bored of the commonly available beers, over the years and my travels my taste has become quite particular, and I was getting frustrated not being able to find that perfect lager that didn't involve me going to a specialist wine store, then randomly I found holsten pils, maybe they rebranded or something, but I thought why not, at first the low price put me off, but I vaguely remember a german friend speaking well of it.
