“Are we in China? Stressful experience.”

Doncaster - Sheffield is a rather small airport and this is when problems start... The check in is a terrible experience - as they not so busy they check every passenger with the thoroughness worthy of the Chinese guards. I have been scanned twice, Mr did not like my 12 months old and dry mascara. He embarrassed me in front of other amazed passengers by throwing out all the stuff from my luggage! I had noticed your white ANPR Van behind me when I noticed my boot was open…..as I stopped my girlfriend actually waved to the driver and pointed to the boot…..the driver waved back then pulled up in front of me, little did I know I was about to get an £80 fine in the post, just for stopping to close the boot ( 30 seconds)…….All I can say is…..There is no wonder at all why this airport is named ‘ROBIN HOOD’ !!! I Could not agree more.......I am a disabled driver and never closed my boot properly......stopped for 30 seconds on the way out and was sent an £80 parking fine in the post.........would never use this airport again.........absolutely compassion free !!!

We use Doncaster for our ski trips to Italy as it is local to us and much easier to use than larger airport, lots of parking near the terminal. We have used the airport for 4 years and this year it was noticeable that the staff were friendlier.It's nice and light and airy.
However, I don't think we will be using it for winter trips again. The flight to Italy is early on a Sunday morning - no other flights at the same time. Yet it took over an hour to check in at the desk and then another...

i have travelled from doncaster several times and have never had a bad experience. parking is so close to terminal and so easy to operate never had a problem with getting out. there are only basic facilities in departure but i find staff very helpful and pleasant. yes it is a small airport but what a change from hustle and bustle of larger ones. well done doncaster airport (read more)

This is the second time I have used this airport, and the experience was terrible and both times the automatic car parkimg barriers failed to work on exit. Worse still the checking in desk person was the rudest most arrogant person I have ever met at an airport! Argued about every thing that they possibly could. Did not do the security questions as they are suppose to. Because I questioned her actions she sent for the airport police! Thus a simple check in end up taking about half an hour... (read more)

just like to say i had the same experience and with what sounds like the same person, she was rude and so arrogant she also called for airport police, i have never been spoken to in such a way like i was and will never fly to this airport again. Her supervisor did nothing to resolve the problem which was that i had hand luggage, but a small handbag as well........never a problem before, eventually she was so rude to me, her supervisor eventually told her to stop. Staff in the airport are so regimental they shouted at my mum for not walking fast enough through the security barrier, she has just had a triple bypass op. Rude Rude Rude

Complete lack of preparation for winter ,some snow has fallen and the airport is closed other airports are doing something there are some delays but you can fly away!!!!

This is a very small nice looking airport which should be a good idea and easy to get through, but no. Road links from the south are poor and you get held up by tractors, lorries and single carriageways. Car parking is right next to the terminal and fine, unless it is raining and then you get quite wet. It is also very dimly lit at night. The exit machine disagreed with the on-line price paid and took some more money. For one full flight of 150 people or mroe there was just one security... (read more)

doncaster airport is a nice fresh enviroment , its very clean and welcoming its only draw back is the size , but it is increasing 4 years ago when we first flew from donny there was 2 to 3 flights a day now theres nearly 25 , iwoould recomkeend to anyone. (read more)

what a joke,on returning from alicante at 1030pm last night 2nd jan 2010 had to wait 30 minutes to disembark from plane ,no steps,finally got of plane then had to wait outside while immigration checked passports(ok we need security)but some jobsworth really made a meal of it while we froze outside,then baggage took nearly 45 mins to arrive on the carousel.do not use doncaster sheffield airport,it really is a joke (read more)

Interesting and modern terminal building which is nice and quiet. Check-in and security are well organized and moves at a good speed. For the number of flights from the airport shops and eating facilities are really quite good! The airport beautifully clean and also offers a good amount of Holiday/Charter flights. (read more)

Having visited the site numerous times in the past I was impressed with the general facilities and could forgive the transport link problems due to ongoing improvements to the regions newest airport. 12 months later what a difference, the transport links seem worse than ever, the facilities have gone down hill and in its current configuration in my view the whole airport is a waste of good facilities.
I can only imagine what international passengers think when they arrive or depart via...

Doncaster Robin Hood Airport - From the moment I heard about the proposed plans for Doncaster airport I was a supporter. I even sported a sticker on my car showing my support, although there were a few folk in Doncaster who didn't want the plans to go ahead. Well tough luck because the plans did go ahead. Yes we got stung too, but parked in the disused bus stop on SINGLE yellow lines, the signs said double so thought we would be ok... how wrong, appealed 3 times and finally after they turned us down, changed the signs to generally no stopping anywhere. So where are you supposed to wait? oh in the airport car park then they sting you for parking fees, so you want DRH to succeed? get rid of the muppets!
