So disappointed with every aspect of the trip. The staff were untrained and unhelpful. The waiting room didn't have enough seats. The plane was old and uncomfortable. Doha airport is a complete ripoff and full of dirty smelly people. I will never fly with Qatar again and make sure all of my friends and family know about my bad experience. (read more)

I initially booked a return flight for my ill mother on sector Dubai-London for QR 2750 however before buying the ticket I changed it as the transit time was around 4 hrs. So I paid higher price of QR 3100 to get the shortest available transit time of 1 hr for her. Bearing in mind she is epileptic, diabetic, over weight, suffers from short memory and was travelling on her own. Overall unsatisfied with the service provided. we ordered Vegetarian Meals but were told that we didnt even though it was clear on the tickets issued. My mother who doesnt speak a word of English and is a Diabetic was given a Chicken Meal and was told take it or leave it. we recently flew to South Africa with my mum and aunt who are both over 70 yrs of age. My mum is a diabetic and my aunt has special dietary requirements - veg meals were ordered for mum and fruit platters for my aunt. my mum who doesnt speak much english was given a chicken meal - she obviously did not eat this but was not offered an alternative either!!! Qatar Airways is infested with a culture of fear and unethical treatment of staff; Staff that are paid at levels of pay that would make you turn away in disgust if they were in the western world. The fear based culture of being reported and being sacked is evident in the Flight Attendent and Pilot relationship. You can see and feel the tension when they walk together in the airport. My embarrassing experience with Qatar Airways. My flight was from Phuket to Heathrow via Qualalumpa and Doha. At the stop in Qualalumpa I was asked to stay on the plane and wait for the flight to continue, then I was made a spectacle of when they made me get off the plane in a hurry because I had a different flight ticket. Travelling from India I was told in Doha I cannot board my connection flight because that flight was full - RUBBISH! Then, I was messed around for a while and kept being told that we will sort something out - RUBBISH! I booked a flight, ticket cost has been deducted from the bank, but guess what, Qatar uses stoneage systems! My booking apparently did not got confirm thou payment was deducted! After waiting for their investigation I was told that the alternatives were a refund and rebook at current rates (meaning I have to bare any fare increase), furthermore as mentioned the system was stoneage, to rebook my flight, I may have to drop by the office to make the new booking and incur admin charges! Flights with this company are great. Trying to check in online or access any other form of information online is a nightmare. Website management is shocking. The flash based system is defective and plagued with bugs. Even if you can find a back door into the online booking or online check in. 9/10 there are internal server issues. Qatar Airways are a disgrace and must 'buy' theIR award from Skytrax. If you complain they dont respond to your email. If you call them and ask to speak to the complaints department they put the phone down on you. If you ring and ask for a 'name' they put the phone down on you. There was nothing nice about flying with this airline. Funny how on their website they recon they are top class and 5 star. The food was not edible. The staff was un-helpful. I am disabled. I've previously flown long haul with BA and Qantas who allowed me to have 3 seats next to me blocked so I could be more comfortable on the long haul flight. This time i have flown with Qatar airways. On arrival at Manchester airport (good and early to make arrangements) I asked the help desk and check in desk if the flight was full. Qatar Airways - the best airline in the world? Although normally Qantas long haul flyers but seduced perhaps by the best airline in the world tag, my wife and I flew Qatar Airways Economy class in September from Melbourne to Rome, with a transit in Doha. LHR-DOH-KUL, rtn BKK-DOH-LHR. Where to begin? Unspeakably chaotic check-in processes in LHR, DOH and BKK. In London I queued one whole hour for bag drop having already checked in online and having their mobile boarding pass - the one they later insist you don't use! Confused? Yeah, me too. I am a regular traveller - scores of flights a year - first time with Qatar. Worst flight experience of my life. London to Dhaka but they cancelled it, no compensation for lost out of pocket expenses or upgrade and when i emailed to complain I got platitudes not actual help. Planes scruffy, staff did not care, food mediocre. I only travelled with them because the times were convenient but they were not the cheapest so spend your money elsewhere with an airline that gives you some service (read more)

Flew to Perth (australia) via Doah The seat was OK, food OK, entertainment not bad. Customer service was bad as I had to resort to sending a recorded delivery letter as telephone was a waste of time when I wanted some questions answering. The transfer at Doah was bad - all by coachs and pretty disorganised. The security at the airport was a bit of a joke but the duty free was not bad. Qatar airline is the worst airline I have ever traveled with so far. I only had to get Qatar because I didn't have any other options available, I usually fly with Emirates or Etihad. Qatar airline has the worst customer service, extra fees which are never mentioned on the ticket and their customer representative say upfront "You have already bought the ticket and there is nothing you can do about it". I don’t know how this airline has won awards. Their ground staffs lack a smile on their face and customer service. On our return flight when we checking in we were told we were 10kgs over weight so therefore if we transfer 6kgs in our hand luggage they will allow 4kgs between my husband and myself. Traveled IAH-DOH and DOH-IAH. Business class was ★★★ on one flight. Economy class was ★ on other four flights. Flight attendants catered to passengers in front of plane and minimized contact with the rest. We have had a similar experience. My husband and I were travelling and booked a single flight from Dubai to the UK 2 months prior our travel. I am pregnant and researched the flying whilst pregnant policy carefully. The Qatar website stated that you can fly up to 36 weeks pregnant for a single/complication-free pregnancy, and that expectant mothers will require medical clearance from Qatar Airways through Medical Information Form (MEDIF). Family of 4 with two children was unable to return back to our home and work in the UK. Qatar Airway just decided to cancel our re confirmed return ticket on the date of travel back to UK. We stuck in the airport with out any help our any secure seats for the next two week at least , ie sptember school holiday return date , we wer left to find our own way back to UK. I recently booked Qatar for my trip to Italy and I have been trying to make an online seat selection through their website for weeks. I was requested to key in all the flight details and enter to go to the next page however it doesn't take me to the next page. The page is unable to load properly and I am unable to view the seatings. I have been trying everyday for weeks and I am frustrated. I once got a busy signal and called right after, probably 20 times, but it was never answered. Never had such sullen crew. They were mainly unfriendly on all legs of a journey from London to Hanoi. Travelling via Doha was hard going. Twice were kept waiting on buses on the runway, once while wheel on plane was changed. Doha is a hot uncomfortable stop. Catering facilities at airport are poor. Have not flown this time yet with qatar, but have done in the past. Had to phone customer services in London and spoke to an incredibly helpful lady about my booking. She found exactly the flights we wanted with a 4hr stop. Told me how to book the lounge and held the flight until she phoned to next day to find out if I wanted to book. Cannot fault their customer services from this experience. Will post again after the flight! (read more)

This is regarding a particular cabin crew Ms Andreea Pavel...... Service was excellent from 'Check in' through to Landing! Flew Melbourne to London return. Seats very comfortable and lie flat seats are excellent for sleeping. Crew great. Transit very smooth. Qatar Airways has reached its level of incompetence. It has expanded so quickly with such poor infrastructure that it now has incompetent and uncaring staff no place for the aircraft near the terminal, and. not enough buses to service the waiting passengers and ferry them from the terminal to the aircraft or vice versa. I have flown more than 100 flights over the past 6 years on Qatar. The review is erroneous and dishonest in a number of ways. 1. Drinks are free on all Qatar flights 2. While the real reason for the delay was a technical problem, i cna state categorically that Bangkok slots are 10 minutes each. Bangkok is none of the most difficult airports to operate from, unless you are Thai Airways or pay for the privilege to local management. 3. Boarded late and departed even later. Announcements from flight deck making up rubbish about air traffic control at Bangkok requiring 10 minute slots between planes on the runway, eventually anouncing that there were electronic problems with the plane and engineers were working on it.
