    Good Points: Cheap? We hired through Amigos Autos.


    Bad Points: We had to wait at the airport for them to come pick us up, actually we had to ring them to find out where they are.
    They did not have a stand in arrivals in Almera, unlike other car companies.
    2 hours to get picked up and get the paperwork done.
    Child seat they supplied us was terrible. When I asked how to fit it, they did not know. When asked for someone that did know, I was told that it was their policy not to fit the car seat.
    The seat was dirty and did not fit well.
    Average car at best.
    Service was better at Malaga airport, where I returned it.


    General comments: I would not recommend Crown Car Hire, Amigos Autos listed these guys, they were not up to scratch in my view.

    I noticed something a bit strange when picking up the car at Malaga airport. The lady asked us if we wanted extra insurance to cover tyres. We had a 4x4 so thought we would take it as we would be going off road. The car was fine but we did have problems with the key fob. We just couldn't get it to work and was not sure if we were using it properly as the markings had worn off it.

    On returning the car, the guy checked over the car and I noticed he started checking the key fob, which I thought ...

    They may seem cheap on the website (booked through economycarhire.co.uk), but as soon as there is a problem they wanted more money and in cash only! Economy Car Hire have not even acknowledged my complaint!

    My husband thought it was because he was getting used to the clutch, but as I drove out hire car out of the steep hotel underground car park there was obviously a problem. Had to rev the engine to get out of the car park, as there were cars behind, and then smoke poured in through the ven ...

    The car was OK, and collecting it at the airport was straightforward, BUT they never told us the bad points! The car was broken into. Support from Crown car rental staff in Fuengirola was nil - in fact they blamed us, despite the fact that the car was locked and there was nothing left inside.

    We booked through an agent - Holiday Autos but would reconsider next time. We had to wait in line for 2 hours on arrival for the car - this was after a trek around the world to find the desk which is in another terminal - not sign posted. Nightmare! Wouldn't use them again!

    We rented a Peugeot Partner from Crown car rental in Seville for 2 weeks, and it cost 260 Euros in high season, which is good value.

    Unfortunately, the car was dirty and damaged. The central locking wouldn't work either. We were charged 63 Euros for a full tank of diesel up-front, which is unreasonable. A full tank is 45 Euros. We were told this would be refunded immediately on return if left back full, which it was. Clarified the situation on return. They agreed to repay the money immediatel ...

    I shopped around, and I used Crown car rental indirectly, as they are the local agent for Holiday Autos in Malaga. They came out cheapest for the class of car I wanted: class example was Renault Clio, 4dr, A/C. I got a very new Nissan, which was a good car for the price.

    It was difficult to find pick up desk, so we had to go to a different terminal. There were also quite long queues, both to pick up the car and deliver it, although delivery was very efficient.

    Crown - The car was delivered and collected at our hotel as expected and was a good, clean and reliable run-around for 2 weeks.

    I was a bit concerned at returning the car with so many parking dents but it didn't cause an issue. Parking dents seem unavoidable in Spain, certainly in the Costa De La Luz. You see people getting out of their cars and just ignorantly thudding their doors into the one parked next to it.
