Good Points: Huge number of features
    Very cheap ink, individual tanks
    Great photo quality

Bad Points: Too big to fit on the printer shelf of my computer desk!!!
(Sorry, really couldn't think of anything I dislike about this machine).

General comments: Got this online for £140, reduced from £220, as I was fed up of paying over the odds for Lexmark ink despite liking my previous (cheap) printers.

This does everything I could possibly need and more; the only other printer which met my criteria at the time was an Epson, which I wouldn't touch with a bargepole. This printer will:
Scan slides/film as well as normal scanning
    Print on CDs
Print borderless and duplex (both sides of paper)
Take memory cards from digital camera, and allow you to do basic editing (zoom into and print selected area of picture, for example) without having to use computer; handy little colour screen
These are just the features I have found particularly useful, there really are far too many to list.

I like the fact that this printer has 2 paper trays, so I can keep A4 paper permanently in the front-loading paper drawer, and use the rear sheet feeder for special paper, envelopes etc. The machine is a bit noisy, but 'quiet mode' dramatically reduces this.

Ink is incredibly cheap, and more than justifies the seemingly high purchase price of the printer; I can buy 2 full sets of compatibles (that's 10 cartridges in total) for about 12/ 13, while still producing great-looking photos. The cartridges also seem to last forever, and unlike an Epson you don't have to worry about the cartridge chipping which makes it difficult to use compatibles.

This printer has exceeded all my expectations, and I would recommend Canon to anyone without hesitation. Far cheaper in the long run than having a low-priced printer that costs 40+ each time the cartridges need changing. Quality is great, it has been very reliable, easily installed and used, and has all the features I could ever need.

The Canon Pixma MP760 is too slow to be usable - one does have a life!

I found the Canon Pixma MP760 multifunction printer to be cheaper than the MP500, so shop around folks. It comes with full sets of ink. It looks awesome, prints negatives, doesn't choke over long hours of printing, has a myriad of options, and lots of different types of paper are accepted. High Res actually looked like High Res. The printer also has a big enough adjustable screen.

Unfortunately, using the lowest possible power consumption options, it takes a long time before it starts printin ...

Canon Pixma MP760: Looking for an All-In-One multifunction printer with LOW running costs? Well STOP! Stop right now. You will NOT find better than the Canon Pixma MP760, sure, it costs a little more but once you bring this beauty home take it out of the box you will instantly see where that extra few bob went. First thing I notice is how well packed it is (someone at Canon had the good Idea to use Orange Tape, you can't miss any!). Second thing I notice is the superb build quality, it looks and ...
