“Paris is a must visit city whatever negative things...”

★★★★★

written by erena on 18/09/2009

Paris is a must visit city whatever negative things there are about it. One of the things you would find tricky there is that locals are not very willing to speak in English so it makes it hard if you don't speak French. Start speak in English and you wouldn't be welcome. Despite that there are plenty of things to see, learn, do and nejoy. I have been three times in Paris, last time being last year. The Effel Tower is a great experience and is much nicer if you take the ride when night falls. A trip on the river Seine is also a great activity while in Paris. You definitaly must pay a visit to Louvre, especially the painting rooms. I personally don't enjoy history much but if you do there is plenty to see at the museum. Yous houls also go to the Mont Marte area and the Sacre Coeur basilica. It is very pretty there and the view of Paris is magnificent. It is easy to get around with the underground network. You should also visit Notre Dame cathedral and see La Sorbona.

“We had a weekend break in Paris flying with Easyjet...”

★★★★★

We had a weekend break in Paris flying with Easyjet and it was a fantastic holiday. The weather was beautiful and everything we wanted to see was within comfortable walking distance. It takes 1 hour to walk from the Eiffel Tower all the way to the Notre Dame.

The river is really nice and its well worth going on the Batobus boat along the river getting on and off whenever you wish. The shops are great along the Champs Elyssee and we would recommend eating out at Planet Hollywood one night for typical American Food.

The Eiffel Tower is the perfect place to sit and relax as it is next to the river and in a nice tree lined park. Walk along the Champs Elyssee to the amazing glass pyramid that forms the entrance to the Louvre museum- home to the hugely famous Mona Lisa painting.

“Went for a long weekend with my girlfriend. ”

★★★☆☆

Went for a long weekend with my girlfriend.
Stayed at The Camponile on Big Berthier.
The Metro was great and reliable.
The Louvre was a let down and you had to pay extra to see things.
Notra Dame was great and down the side streets were good cafe/bistro's.
The Arc de Triumph was another one that you had to pay for as was 99% of the attractions.
You are constantly accosted by people begging and trying to sell you things.
Apart from the smell of the sewers and dirty streets the City is good.
The vast majority of shops are expensive with restaurants on average 40% dearer than the UK.

“Paris is a brilliant place to visit. Like all major...”

★★★★☆

Paris is a brilliant place to visit. Like all major European cities there is loads to see and do. The Eiffel tower is well worth a trip, the view from the top is top drawer. The food is Paris is also fantastic, though not cheap. If there is one thing the French got right it's how to cook a good steak! The Louvre was pretty cool and I didn't even go in! Visited most of the other stuff as well and the shopping is good. Weather is quite nice too if you don't go in winter. It's well worth a cheeky weekend on the Eurostar.
