Good Points: Excellent food, atmosphere and service
Bad Points: Slightly pricey but well worth the effort.
General comments: So different from your average local curry house. The Spice Cube have invested in modern decor creating a vibrant, lively atmosphere. The menu is different varied but the old favorites are there if you look. If you fancy an Indian meal with a difference, this is the place!

We ordered from the specials menu and the meal came to over £70 for two, the food simply came nowhere near to justifying the cost. The prawn starter was nice but it was all downhill from there I'm afraid, the main meals arrived with 2 naan breads (barely warm), now I don't think I'm being unreasonable to expect a garlic naan to taste of garlic but ours just didn't. The chicken curry had 4 pieces of chicken, (yes I counted them) but when I paid £14 I think I should expect a bit more ...- Read mat1974's review (326 words)

I have been to there a couple of times now, and I have always found it very pleasant. The food is invariably tasty and well cooked, and the staff are friendly. It is also a predominantly non-smoking restaurant as well, which is good.
The Spice Cube is not my favourite Indian in Newcastle, as I tend to go for the blow-your-mouth-off type of curry, served by the likes of Latifs', but if I were looking to impress a new girlfriend, then somewhere like this would be ideal!- Read fryera2's review (93 words)

The food in the The Spice Cube, Newcastle Upon Tyne is out of this world, so different to the usual curry on the wall establishments scattered around the city. This is the only place that has something different. The food really was brill, so intense flavours!! I would recommend this place definitely.- Read Shiraj's review (59 words)

I will get straight to the point.
I went with 2 friends 2 nights ago and ordered a soup starter with a chicken/ rice main dish.
To start with we went into the restaurant and our table wasn't even ready... my main course which cost £8.50 was barely large enough to cover half the plate and not very filling...
To top the lot, that night I went to bed with a stomach cramp and have had diarrhea for the last 48 hours.
I am not trying to damage the reputation of this business i'm warning othe ...- Read keenangoal's review (96 words)
