Good Points: yes they are strong, loyal, and beautiful and also have rare breeds within the pitbull family.
Bad Points: im not writeing this because of the press reads but they are well known for turning on there owners. i belive they have a natural born streak in them for fighting which causes them to have to much energy and attack this breed is band from thr uk but not totaly abined by as i walked down the street the other day and saw a american pitbull. do not leave them around children as they can turn as but also any dog can but this breed REGUARLY DO.
General comments: I agree all dogs can turn and it depends on the owner but american pitbulls turn quite easily they are not to be trusted around children this inflict from telly has made them out to be hard dogs and nasty but some of them can be soft just around children i wouldnt risk it.

American Pitbull Terrier - ALL breeds are capable of biting someone (not just pit bulls) infact out of all the people I've ever known to get bitten, they have most always been other breeds and not a pit bull. I feel it's all in the owner and how they raise the dog from a pup. The pit bull is a loyal human being lover.- Read major1f's review (118 words)

When I was 10 years old I was attacked by a neighborhood pitbull who's owners routinely let it run loose in the neighborhood. Ever since I have had a hatred and fear of the breed. I don't really know why, but I began looking into them again about 3 years ago, and as luck would have it a pitbull puppy from a broken home was taken in by my girlfriend and I. We also own 3 other different breed of dogs, so we did as much research as possible before accepting what I viewed as a safety risk to me a ...- Read fngs777's review (411 words)

Why, after the recent death of a young child, and the many attacks publicised around Pitbull Terriers, can anyone say that these dogs are safe around children? These dogs are by their very nature at potential time bomb. They may have been trained correctly, but is the risk really worth it?- Read hammerfab's review (51 words)

I have personally known one American Pitbull Terrier, who was very loving and loyal to it's family. It had to be shot and killed to release it's mouth from an innocent person. My husband, who works in law enforcement, was attacked by 2 pitbulls while investigating reports of neighbors seeing these pitbulls eat their own pets. They should all be destroyed and made illegal.- Read jlk1976's review (69 words and 2 comments)

I have been around Pitbull Terriers for years, and they make great pets. They get bad press, and actually are OK if they are well trained early! They do eat a lot though!- Read Sicillianbella22's review (45 words and 1 comment)

As a SPCA volunteer for nearly a decade now, I have been working with a wide variety of breeds. Of all of them, the American Pitbull Terrier has got to be my favourite. Despite the fact that many of these dogs I've worked with were abused, they still remain exceedingly loving and loving.- Read Roaming Tigress's review (102 words)

The American Pitbull Terrier is very fun loving and has zest for life. I've owned different breeds put none can compare to my Pitbulls. They're great with children and can take children's rough play. Must be well trained and socialized because can be dog aggressive, not the same thing people agression which is very rare with most Pits. Needs much time and affection can suffer from seperation anxiety. When you have meet one you'll be in love with them. Needs lots of physical activities to burn en ...- Read bullybreed lover's review (180 words)
